THE DOCTOR WHO TUMBLR HIT 300,000 FOLLOWERS!!! WHO WANTS TO MAKE A CUSTOM TUMBLR THEME TO CELEBRATE!?!?!

So we noticed something really neat this past weekend:

Our follower count is now an integer that end in zero! We love round numbers! They’re just so tidy!

Incidentally, there are now 300,000 of us Whovians on this blog! which is very cool!

So let’s celebrate! We’ve dressed up in our Adipose best for the occassion — now let’s dress up the blog!

We want you to design the next Tumblr Theme for the Doctor Who Tumblr.

Create a custom theme and post a screenshot to your blog with the tag ‘new theme for the doctor who tumblr’. We’ll go through the entries and in two weeks, we’ll pick several winning themes to rotate from now until November.

We’ve seen some of the Doctor Who themes you’ve made for your own blogs and we’re jealous. We want one as cool as yours.

So take a look at our current theme as an example. We have links to tags for the 9th, 10th, and 11th Doctors, Classic Who, #newtoWHO, and fan work. There may be new tags that would be great in the sidebar (companions? monsters of Who? Whovians?)

Right from the series' first episode, the Doctor's name was a mystery. After stumbling into the TARDIS in the scrapyard of I.M. Foreman, a doubtful Ian Chesterton desperately tries to disprove the Doctor’s assertion that his “ship” has transported them from 1963 to a pre-historic time, by insisting that "Doctor Foreman" opens the doors. Absentmindedly, the Doctor replies, "Eh? Doctor who?". This unscripted contribution from actor William Hartnell began a running joke throughout the series' history of characters asking the same question. Ian later confides in Barbara that he’s certain Foreman isn’t the Doctor’s name. “Perhaps if we knew his name” he says, “We might have a clue to all this”.
