The ever watching soft brown eyes open a little larger. The wet black nostrils start to quiver: the hearts start to beat a little faster, can't sit any longer, now jumping up to investigate. What's all the excitement about? The tails start to wag when the familar routine unfolds. The well-worn battered suitcases are getting filled, the beach umbrella, the picnic cooler, the flipflops, gaudy giant beach towels, uh-oh what's going on? All being gathered up and put in the truck. Excitement builds, everyone carrying things, no one looks at us, they just rush by. Try to stay out of the way, watching more closely, waiting, waiting,. Truck almost filled, worry starts to set in, eyes pleading, watching every move. Don't they know that we are worried, finally a pat on the head, at least they know we are here. Wait, there are our bowls, a bag of food, our chewey toys, are they taking our stuff with them too? Still no one looks at us in their frenzy, move in closer maybe they will look down and see us. Maybe we should speak, don't want to risk doing anything wrong. They are taking one last look around the house, trying not to forget anything. Wait! What about us? Keys now jingling, its so hard to be good staying out of the way and being quiet, can't do it any longer, but wait, here they are with our leashes, smiling and calling us into the truck, hooray we are going on a Cape Cod vacation!'
