How to Make Mumbai-Style Wedding Favors

A  Mumbai wedding means having favors that are very memorable. Personalize your favors and please your guests. Here are a few ideas that may make your day a little more special.

Cookie Cards: Purchase inexpensive cookie cutters shaped like playing card suits. Take a trip to the arts and crafts store. Pick up cookie tins, filler paper and ribbon in the wedding colors. Frosting can be purchased at the supermarket. Bake the cookies and let cool. Frost the cookies with white, black and red frosting. Start with white frosting for the background. Then black or red for whichever suit you start with first.

Tulle Wedding Favor Pouches: You will need M Ms.; Have them print  Mumbai on the front and your married name on the back. You will also need tulle, thin ribbon and scissors. This is a simple wedding favor and easy to complete. Cut the tulle into 6" squares or whatever shape you choose. Pour a small of amount of M Ms; into the center. Lift tulle sides and corners to meet in the middle and tie your ribbon around the top of the tulle in a bow leaving 3" of ribbon dangling. Hold the pouch firmly at the bow. Take the scissors and lay the ribbon flat on one side of the blade beginning at the bottom of the bow. Place the ribbon between the blade and your finger and pull firmly from tip to end. This will cause the ribbon to curl and you have finished the pouch.

Homemade Compact Discs: You will need blank cds, blank cd labels, blank jewel case labels, cd jewel cases in the wedding colors, your computer, your printer, some ribbon, small gift bags and music. Since this is a Mumbai wedding, you may want to make a collection of Elvis greatest hits or even Wayne Newton. You get the idea. First, you and your hubby to be need have a photograph of the two of you taken together. Use your photo software on the computer to print labels for front and back cover of the jewel cases. Insert the picture in the front cover and your married name and the date of your wedding in the back. On cd label, use a title like " Mumbai Wedding" and list music under the title. Use a fancy font for this.
