@newportstarters location: at someone’s houseparty in san joaquin hills time: around midnight
It was mildly terrifying — Ramona realized she was starting to feel like an old person. Honestly, though, it was borderline impossible to believe that anyone was having an actual good time at that particular party. It had been two and a half hours past the designated guitar time and no one seemed to get the hint that something else should have been happening. “I’m so glad we managed to bail. I thought I was gonna die from boredom. If I didn’t I probably would’ve contemplated murder just to make things a little bit more interesting,” she paused, rolling her eyes at her own inability to hold a conversation without morbid sarcasm. “and I guarantee not even that would wake that bearded man in the corner.” Her ams crossed in front of her, Ramona leaned on the porch rail. “Wow, that was 100% inappropriately creepy.” Smiling, she glided down the stairs that led to the sidewalk. “Don’t worry, though. I promise I’m not a serial killer, it’s just part of the show.” It was spooky season, after all. “Are you coming?”
Olimpya had been back in Newport for about a month now, but she was careful not to be seen by anyone, it wasn’t time yet. She wasn’t ready, to start facing everyone, and come face to face with her past, her roots. However, there was no way of escaping her past forever, and she wasn’t going to be young forever. So, she wanted to start with baby steps, and she had made her way into some party she had heard about somewhere, at San Joaquin Hills. But, the party wasn’t anything like she had expected. Despite the fact that she wasn’t drinking - after all, not even a bad party would be enough to break her sobriety - there were far less interesting things happening around. Not even the music was a good excuse to stay.Â
Somehow, she had managed to find someone who was enjoying the party as much as she was, and now they were bailing. Laughing at the girl’s comment, she liked letting loose for a moment, talking with someone who didn’t know her at all. “That wasn’t creepy at all, in fact, I was considering that myself.” Stopping midway, she was hesitant for a moment, not because of the comment, but because she didn’t want coming back to Newport have her become who she was before. Smiling down at the girl, she nodded. “Yes, let’s go,” she said, still somewhat hesitant. “Where are we going again?”
