(a bit late) week 3! not going to go through every album but here are some thoughts:
Feline's Return - Natanya.
This girl is going places. really excited to see what she does next! Her sound plays with nostalgia, whilst still sounding fresh. Really loving her voice. My favorite song from her so far is probably sofajoy.
Vi har kommet for å stjele dine barn - Hjerteslag
I really liked Hjerteslag's album from 2016, Vannmann86. This, however, felt like a bunch of nothing.
Fancy That - PinkPantheress
I didn't really listen to this album upon it's release, but it's been on repeat for the last couple days! As someone who grew up with house music and electronica, pink meshes it seamlessly with pop in a way that gives me hope for the genre. Even my 90s purist dad enjoyed this album.
Robert, oh Robert... how you have charmed me with your electronic pop sounds to a degree which surpasses my hate for quebecois french. Also the Sami Landri FT!
I've heard so much about this album, both online and from friends. I will honestly say i actively disliked the first half of the album. The second half won me back, partially, especially with the tracks Au Pays du Cocaine and Taxes.
Micheal's Book on Bears - Konradsen
Might be my favorite album of all time. listened to it on vinyl. saw them live last year. cried on the first row. stole the set-list off the stage. seeing them again in april.
Ones you get past the silliness of the title, this is genuinely one of the most interesting and beautiful concept albums i have listened to. I do recommend reading about the album as well to get the full experience, might get a bit lost otherwise, as it is pretty conceptual.
