I spent approximately seven hours in the same position on my bed because Cinderella was sleeping on my stomach and I didn’t want to move because I might wake her, and now everything hurts, I swear to God, I heard my bones creaking when I finally moved.
"Um... who's Cinderella ?? And are you okay ??"
“ I don’t know- what if you’re a serial killer ?? ” Lottie questioned, a soft laugh escaping her as she did so.
"Really ?? A serial killer ??" He released a small chuckle, shaking his head. "You'll be relieved to know that I'm not a serial killer -- I'm Oliver."
It really was. But I know we’re better than that. Still. Wait, he didn’t? Ass. … um. I kinda … asked.
"We are, but I think we were all a little bummed because coach was a little bummed that you couldn't play. Nope, and that has got to be the fiftieth time he's done it to me. What ?? And you just... got it ??"
“ I’m not sure… How well do you know this area ? ” The blonde chuckled, tilting her head to the side gently.
"I'd say very well, considering I live in this part of Caston," he explained, his eyes swooping across the campus, before landing on the girl again. "What do you say ??"
“ Definitely. ” The small blonde glanced up at the boy, offering him a soft smile in return while cautiously studying his features.
"Well, is there anything I can so to make up for your terrible day ??" His smile softened, and Oliver tugged his backpack further across his shoulder.
“Oh.. that’s right. Dean did mention he had a twin.” Emmett shrugged and handed the boy his jacket. “I should pay attention to him more, but.”
"Yeah ?? Well, here I am," he said with a chuckle, and took his jacket from him with a grateful smile. "Hey, I know, I should really do the same. But I just can't keep up with him."
“Hmm.” Harper hummed under her breath. “Harper.” She stated blankly.
"Okay, Harper. It's nice to meet you."
No, I meant the team as a whole. Dude, that looked terrible from where I sat. He needs to stop doing that. I uh… no one. No one did it for me.
"It was a mess on the field. It was a'ight, nothing to worry about. Yeah, and the guy still needs to apologise. So who did it ?? How did you get the A ??"
“… um… yes? But it’s okay! Once it’s done I can sleep.”
"But until then you're going to suffer."
“Reading is quite a wise way to spend your time. At least I think it is, but then again I read all the time. Well, what do you like to read the rare times you do? Do you have any genres you particularly like?”
"I see. Is your major English or something ?? I don't know... I usually read anything that sparks my interest. I'm pretty open-minded."
A Few Drinks | Oliver & Mona
“Long enough,” Mona said, swiveling her body a little to look at him. “Do you normally keep girls waiting?” She raised an eyebrow at him, but her tone was amused more than irritated. As it was just this one time, she supposed that she could forgive him. As of then she didn’t count herself impressed enough that she thought they would be in this position again any time soon. She took her drink from the bartender and toasted it to Oliver with a smirk. “Take it however you want, babe, you’re not going to win. I always end up on top.” With a cheeky wink, she took a sip of her drink, smiling appreciatively.
Turning back to Oliver again, Mona remembered that she wasn’t supposed to be flirting with him. He was just going to end up another complicated thing in her already too complicated life. But things like that never seemed to stop her. “You know, I see your brother in here all the time, but never you. Which is a shame since you make slightly better eye candy than your brother.” She laughed, not serious but not really joking either. “You ought to come around here more. This is the best place to make… interesting new friends.”
Shrugging, Oliver pushed up the sleeves of his shirt, resting his arm on the bar. "I'm sorry to keep you waiting. I didn't want to get into a scuffle with those guys who hang around in the alley." He used his over arm to point to the overall direction of the alley, but waved it off and letting his hand fall to his thigh. He didn't mean to be so long, and hoped that he hadn't annoyed her too much. Giving the bartender an appreciative smile, he tipped his glass towards Mona, before taking a mouthful of the liquid. "Don't count your chickens before they've hatched," the boy chuckled.
Oliver looked around the club almost cautiously, not exactly sure of what he was expecting to find. He didn't usually come here because he preferred house-parties, that way he knew everyone and everything that was going on, and he had more fun. "I prefer it when things are a little more intimate, then getting drunk is easier, and you know you're not gonna catch anything from a stranger. Y'know, the funny thing about us being identical twins is that we look the same," he laughed, sipping at his drink again. "I might consider it, if something tempts me."
I didn’t know what hurt the most, my chest or watching you play. Andy was just jumping around like a monkey. I’ll get my position back. Oh, I know. We both have. Will you just– .. stop? Fine! Fine, I didn’t deserve that A. I wasn’t even close to deserving it.
"Hey, I didn't do too bad. And if it wasn't for Josh kicking me, I would've scored that goal. That's why we're brothers. Oh, there it is. So tell me, genius, who did you get to do the work for you ??"
“Um… well… not really. But I have this really important paper. I’m almost done with it too.”
"Wait... were you up all night because of that paper ??"
“ I’ve been getting stepped on all day in rehearsals- shoved around in the hallways and I literally just got bumped into. I understand that I’m short but this is ridiculous. ” The small blonde sighed, glancing down at her feet and furrowing her eyebrows in thought.
Giving her a small smile, Oliver folded his arms over his chest. "Rough day ??"
I know, I watched practice last week. If only coach will let me play when I get back then I can help you out. I know and you’re pretty good at it too. Sure I can. If you can doubt my intelligence, I can doubt yours. I work as hard as you do.
"It was awful. It was like they didn't even know how to play. Maybe, but keep hoping. You never know with coach. Well, I have been mastering it since we were born. Okay, alright. When you can be bothered."
Amusement crossed her face as his smile was contagious, and her eyes shot down to the book again. “All this time I’ve been carrying books around without knowing they could be so dangerous.” As she looked up again, she nodded. “It is. Then again, I like most books. I’d recommend it, but of course it depends on what you like to read.”
Chuckling softly to himself, Oliver nodded. "See ?? You just have to know how to use them." His smile turned into a sheepish one, and he moistened his lips before speaking. "I... don't read very often, though I think I might start. I have a quite a lot of spare time, and should really spend it wisely. Thank you for the recommendation, though."
A Few Drinks | Oliver & Mona
She was sitting in her regular spot at the Pulse, legs crossed and fingers tapping on the bar counter. Mona had never particularly liked waiting, especially when it came to men so she had one eye on the clock to decide how long before she gave up on him. If it wasn’t for the fact that he was Dean’s brother, she might have left immediately. She just hoped that Dean wasn’t working tonight or she’d never hear the end of it. Of course, admittedly, that added to the fun. When she finally saw Oliver enter, she just watched him, waiting for him to notice her and make his way over. It never occurred to her to get up to meet him.
Turning back to the bar, Mona glanced over at him as he came over, gesturing to the stool next to her. “Whisky sour,” was how she greeted him. “If you really want to get me drunk, better start now. I have a feeling I could drink you under the table.” She laughed, leaning on the counter to look at him. Inviting him to the bar had probably not been the smartest of moves, but Mona was not known for being cautious.
Oliver crossed over to the side of the road where the Pulse sat, knowing that it had took him longer than expected to get there. He would've took the shortcut if it wasn't for a group of guys hanging around in one of the alleys, so he was stuck with the much longer road circuit. Despite living in Caston for all his life, Oliver didn't really know anyone, unlike his brother. It wasn't because he was anti-social, he just didn't often meet new people, and Desdemona was probably one of the only people that he did know, though not very well. There was a big crowd of people cramming into the doors of the bar, and Oliver was stuck at the back. However, it didn't take long for the queue to go down and for him to get in.
The bobbing heads obscured his view a little, but when he spotted Mona, he tucked his hands in his pockets and swerved around the bodies, keeping his head low. Reaching the bar, he offered the girl a small smile, and pulled out the chair beside her. He raised an eyebrow at her choice of drink. "I'm taking that as a challenge," he said with a lopsided grin, and called over one of the bartenders. "Could we get a whisky sour, and a whiskey coke, please," Oliver ordered, turning back to the girl. "How long have you been here ??"
