WHAT CAME FROM THE FAIR /// A WIP BY LUCIA TRASK
genre: gaslamp fantasy with cosmic horror elements and a romantic subplot

with the school year finished, seventeen-year-old celine grichuse returns home for the summer to orras, terra. things look as though they couldn’t be better: she’s perfectly happy to reunite with her loving family and explore the city, seeking excitement. best of all, this year is when the world fair will come to orras, terra - as if there wasn’t enough to look forward to this summer already!
then two things happen. firstly, thanks to a chance meeting, celine stumbles across a boy her age named arata. a sweet, mild-mannered boy, the two become close friends… and maybe celine feels something more (a matter that her little sister teases her about relentlessly).
the second is that the trio stumbles across something… strange. at first celine brushes the experience off - orras is a city filled with magic, after all, so stumbling across things out of the ordinary is a given. but upon closer investigation, it seems as though what celine and friends found is linked to the world fair and may be more dangerous than she thought.
as the opening world’s fair approaches, celine finds her and her friends caught in a bizarre chain of events that may jeopardize all that they hold dear, and that the world’s fair may hide more than she thought behind its colorful facade…
