These are the first two images of the 100 Days project. This weeks theme is Friends/Family.
My aim is to explore mediums and subjects that I don't normally explore. I will be exploring a new subject every 8 days. I have a list of mediums that I will rotate everyday. I will be interested to see what I find and devalop through this exploration.

After a long hiatus I am finally back at the canvas. This time around I am concerning myself with family affairs. The two images here are of my grandmothers from opposite sides of the family.Â
The last set of works I did I painted Alla Prima, so this time I’m laying in charcoal drawings before painting over the top with acrylic ink, then applying oil paint over that. There is much more to come.
I found this older piece today, I quite like it so I thought i’d share. I’m gearing up for a new bout of work soon and I think the focus of the new pieces will be drawing.... Just gotta get started.
A portrait of my younger brother Richard. I think he was about 5 or 6 in the photo I used. This one will be part of a show in New Plymouth next month.

A new piece i’m working on at the moment. This one will be for sale at the Pablos art auction in Wellington.Â
Most of this piece has been done with a palette knife, I enjoy the lack of control I have over this tool. I have also started employing glazing to add depth.

Ive started experimenting with a series of ceramic paintings.The idea of the artwork being practical appeals to me. Theses are my first couple of attempts. I will be selling this work soon. Â
