One of my favorite memories is of a day in an online group therapy session when we were going over normal stuff. I had randomly decided to quietly show a stuffed animal I had next to me on the camera. Mainly to show someone in the group that i had become friends with, in response, they also showed a stuffed animal they had. But then the person leading the group noticed and pointed it out and asked if anyone else had a stuffed animal to share. Every single person had a stuffed animal. not only just in their house but within arms reach. This was a group of 10ish people, many of whom did not want to be there and consistently did the bare minimum of interaction, people who had experienced horrible things people that felt like they had to be tough all the time. But in that moment, everyone had a story to tell even if brief about their stuffed animal. It is just was one of those moments of realizing no matter what you been through, how you act, who you are, you are still a person living in world full of others with lives just as complex as yours, lives that are all to similar to each other.

Stuffed animals are the best.
