Tunnel Perspective

Day Lily

A daylily or day lily is a flowering plant in the genus Hemerocallis, a member of the family Asphodelaceae, subfamily Hemerocallidoideae. Despite the common name, it is not in fact a lily. I found this beauty at Lowe’s lol.

Northern Glow

Here is another build series. This image started life as a satellite photo from NASA of the glowing life in the North Sea. I first cropped and distorted the image to better fill the 8k frame. Then I roughly painted over that image as a guide. Then refined that painting a second time. Then finish painting to create the final piece. This is about 4 hours of work.

Geometric Metro

I recently went to the DC Zoo with my family. We of course took the metro into the city because it’s part of the experience (not our first time). I love the geometry of the metro retaining walls. This is the cross point of the Metro Center ceiling.

Double Vision 1&2

This morning I was very productive. Managed two abstract pieces from the same origin. These two perspectives come from a satellite photo I found on nasa of clouds over the Serengeti. I traced out the base image and painted from there. Didn’t like the first one so I made another. Then i found I like both. So it’s a 2 for Wednesday..

Symbols

I’ll be honest I created the background of this piece by blending colors I captured from a blue poppy. The symbol happened separately while learning Adobe Fresco. It fell together and I just stopped and had to use it. I’m thinking of making it my signature.

Zinnia

I painted this image based on a Zinnia that NASA grew in space on the international space station in 2016. The flower retained its symmetry even without earth’s gravity. Beauty is genetic.

Night Trolly
