for the record. i know fuckall about the history of graffiti and street art. i am a terminally online dweeb who has never been cool enough to do any sort of vandalism. i just like it when people put funny words on the walls outside and I like taking pictures to put instagram filters over.

but also i rly respect graffiti as an underappreciated form of art! dismissing it as petty vandalism, messy, or bad-looking is short-sighted and lame and probably classist and racist or something. the graffiti i see in this area brightens my day and makes me feel more connected to my community; it's much more culturally valuable than plain gray walls!

so long as it isn't hateful, hurtful, or dangerous, it should probably just be left alone.
