März 1920 veröffentlichte der Altöttinger Liebfrauenbote diese Kleinanzeige: „Mittlerer Staatsbeamter, ledig, katholisch 43 Jahre alt, tadellose Vergangenheit, auf dem Lande, sucht sich mit einem gut kathoiischen reinlichen Mädchen, das gut kochen und alle Hausarbeiten kann, auch im Nähen bewandert ist und Einrichtung besitzt, baldigst zu verehelichen. Vermögen erwünscht, jedoch nicht Bedingung. Angebote wenn möglich mit Bild an die Expeditur des Blattes.“

Die Anzeige hatte Erfolg – die Eltern von Joseph Ratzinger, dem späteren Papst Benedikt XVI. lernten sich kennen und lieben.

Heute wird er 89 – alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Heiliger Vater a.D.!
