E. Transforming the Context of Manuel L. Quezonâs Speech into Hypertext
âI want our people to be like a molave tree, strong and resilient, standing on the hillsides, unafraid of the rising tide, lighting and the storm, confident of its strength.â - Manuel L. Quezon in his 1938 Address.
Manuel Luis QuezĂłn y Molina (August 19, 1878 â August 1, 1944) was a Filipino statesman, soldier, and politician who served as president of the Commonwealth of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944. He was the first Filipino to head a government of the entire Philippines (as opposed to the government of previous Philippine states), and is considered to have been the second president of the Philippines, after Emilio Aguinaldo (1897â1901). Quezon was a Spanish Filipino, with both his parents being Filipino mestizos.Â
Quezon was the first Senate president elected to the presidency, the first president elected through a national election, and the first incumbent to secure re-election (for a partial second term, later extended, due to amendments to the 1935 Constitution). For pushing Commonwealth Act No. 184 that established the National Language Institute and a consequent Philippine national language, Quezon has been tagged as his countryâs âFather of the National Languageâ.

Special Traits of Filipinos
https://youtu.be/QyTPLyIU8_Q
1. Hospitality - This is one of the most popular qualities of Filipinos. Filipinos are welcoming, friendly and kind. Foreigners who have gone to the Philippines find themselves falling in love with the warm hospitality they are shown. Itâs a different kind of value system, which has existed for thousands of years.
2. Respectful - This is often observedânot just by younger peopleâbut also by people of all ages.
Children respect elders by saying âpoâ and âopo,â which mean âyes,â when answering their elders.
Children or young adults also show respect by putting their eldersâ hands on their foreheads.
Filipinos also show respect at work by making a bow to their employers
3. Strong Family Ties and Religions - Filipinos value their families so much that they tend to keep families intact through the generations.
4. Generosity and Helpfulness - Filipinos are generous people. Even when we have very little, we always share with those around us.
5. Strong Work Ethic - Filipinos are hardworking people to the point that we are willing to work almost the whole day just to feed our families. Thatâs how Filipinos are.
6. Love and Caring - Filipinos are the sweetest and most loving people in the world.
7. Utang na Loob - A debt of gratitude (utang na loob) is a cultural Filipino trait of repaying special favors given to them, regardless of the moral outcome. It is considered an important âaccommodative surface value,â along with hiya (shame) and pakikisama (togetherness). It doesnât even end with the one-time repayment of debt; most of the time, Filipinos consider this debt as something they should repay over and over, even if it takes a lifetime.
8. Â âBahala naâ or âcome what mayâ habit - Â We could attribute this habit to faith, reasoning out that God will help us become successful. However, as the Christian saying goes, âfaith without work is deadâ. If we have some goals, then we need to work in order to achieve them.

Values  education in Schools
___________________________________________
âEducation is an important element in the struggle to help our children and people rediscover their identity and thereby increase self-respect. Education is our passport to the future.â Malcolm X said.
Values education is ingrained in every tradition of the Filipino culture. Children are taught to respect the elders by saying âpoâ and âopoâ and by putting their eldersâ hands on their foreheads. But then, as time passed by, these values are slowly fading away and we tend to become hypocrites. Values Education as a part of the school curriculum is the process by which values are formed in the learner under the guidance of the teacher and as he interacts with this environment. But it involves not just any kind of teaching-learning process.

Filipino Patriotism
_______________________
Filipinos back then considered patriotism as a serious matter. In order to attain a better country, one must show their great patriotism and it means that you are willing to offer everything you have even your precious life for the sake of your own country.
Our patriotism is awakened every time the flag is unfurled and the anthem sung. It is far easier to imagine and feel patriotism whenever we have a struggle, a fight with an enemy, where hundreds of thousands of Filipinos dieâsuch as against the Spaniards in 1896, against the Americans from 1898 to 1902, and against the Japanese from 1941 to 1945.
These days, although it is often said that patriotism is âmore words than actions,â it does live still in the hearts and minds of many Filipinos, young and old alike.

Sword Art Online vs. Log Horizon
The good old classic VRMMORPG (Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) anime debate Sword Art Online vs. Log Horizon. A year after the release of SAO, LH came out. Anime fans argue about which is a better anime in the same genre. Both animeâs plot revolves around âliving in a gameâ concept. Being trap in an online game, finding the way home while striving for survival.Â
First off, weâll start with SAO which revolves around Kirigaya âKiritoâ Kazuto a high school boy who started as one of the 1,000 VRMMORPG Sword Art Online beta testers on the gameâs previous closed beta . With the NerveGear, a helmet that stimulates the user's five senses via their brain, players can experience and control their in-game characters with their minds. Both the game and the NerveGear was created by Akihiko Kayaba. The 10,000 players logged into SAO for the first time and they have discovered that they are unable to log out. The only way out of the game is to beat all the 100 floors of Aincrad. Those who have died in game will die in real life as well. Kirito being labeled as âbeaterâ a word for âbeta testerâ and âcheaterâ isolates himself from the larger groups and played the game all alone. Later on, he met Asuna forming alliance with her and marrying her later in the game. Both of them conquered through the floors in searching for a way out.
Next, LH is about Elder tale a popular VRMMORPG that shocked 30,000 Japanese gamers unable to log out after the gameâs 12th expansion update. One of them is Shiroe, a genius veteran of the game who is only confused and shocked for a moment. He immediately sets out to explore this new world, leading others and negotiating with NPCs to maintain the balance of this virtual world. Together with his friends Naotsugu and Akatsuki, they figure out the mysteries of a world of fantasy, adventure, and politics. LH explores the elements of gaming through the eyes of a master strategist who attempts to make the best of a puzzling situation.
Basically, LH is just SAO without the in-game death scare and the romance with similar plot, getting stuck in a game and finding a way out. Both anime are great with all of the action and fight scenes. SAO has more romance LH has more of everything else with the awesome tactic based fighting and to its in-game society building. Overall, both anime are great and are the best of their genre.

Cataclysm comes from the Greek word kataklysmos which means "a deluge or flood." Compare and Contrast
Computer Games vs. Video Games vs. Smartphone Games
Each game are played in a unique style. They can be played on different medium. Computer games are played on computers, Video games are played on consoles and video game machines, and even on your smartphones you can play games. Each of them have very distinct qualities.    First, letâs talk about smartphone games. In today's society, it's hard to imagine going a day without our phones. While we have the world virtually at our fingertips, our smartphones are no longer just a means of communication. They are also serving as our means of entertainment. And what better way to kill time than to play games on the go? Mobile games are free and portable. Most of the smartphone games are free and you can easily get them from the App Store and Google Play. You can play a lot of freemium games, which are quality games that are free. Even though they are easy to get and most are free, hardcore gamers still prefer PC and Console. It is because Computer games and Consoles have better graphics and gaming experience.
Now, letâs talk about Computer and Video Games. Good old PC gaming versus video game console debate. Each of them have their own merits. PC gaming is expensive. You can get a cheap, pre-built system, but it will come with specs that might have looked impressive about five years ago. You can also go for broke and spend multiple thousands of dollars on the latest video card, the fanciest processor, gobs of RAM and a customized case to get the best gaming experience and to meet the requirements to be able to play a game. Either way, getting a quality gaming PC for the price of a console ranges from extremely difficult to impossible. On the other hand, consoles are much way more cheaper hardware-wise but when it comes to games PCâs are better. Gaming platforms on computers like Steam offers games for lesser values and some games can be played for free. Console games tend to have higher prices at longer time and some games are rarely on sale. Some game can be played only on PC and some certain consoles like PS4 and XBOX One. A decently powerful PC can display better graphics than consoles. Both consoles and PCâs allow you to play multiplayer games, but the functionality isn't exactly the same on the two types of system. I you love to play co-op in a couch then, consoles must be your thing but when it comes to online multiplayer PCâs have the advantage. Obviously, there are more games in PC and more versatile than consoles. You the freedom to chose how you play on computer games. PC games have a wide range of potential for you can upgrade your computer to meet the best gaming experience. On the other hand, consoles are limited to the hardware of the system alone.Â
In the end, the choice between Smartphone games, Computer games and Video games really does comes down to this: Video Game Consoles are cheaper and easier to use, but more limited in what they can do. PC have a bigger game library, better gaming experience and more versatility , but can be much tougher to fix if something goes wrong. Smartphone games have lesser graphics, and more limited of what they can do but can be played on the go and most of them that have decent quality are available for free. After all, it's all about personal preference of the gamer that matters most.Â
Cause and Effect Writing Activity
Digital-age children, spend most of their time on television, computers, and video games, but is there harm in children spending increasing amounts of time engaging in media-related activities? There are no easy answers in this highly-technological 21st century; parents need to consider all digital media in order to determine what is best for their child.
A child learns by playing. They observe and tries to imitate it. Many inventions have changed and shaped our modern society, specially our children. For example, watching televisions make children to be passive and less interactive with others instead of actively trying to discover things. There are plenty of bad effects these technologies will brought to our children, but there are some that have the opposite effect. A great example is playing video games. Instead of making children less interactive, video games can allow children to be less passive due to the interactions on games.
The problem remains for parents to decide how much screen time they want their children to have. The reality is inevitable, that digital-age children will be exposed to electronic media. The possibility to be able to raise a child away from all these influences is unrealistic, if not impossible. Thus, it is not these media that harm children, it is the inappropriate and absence of guided interactions by the parents.
Clipped and Paced Narratives
Clipped Narration
There was this girl who I met at a horror house. We became friends and later on, I started to care for her. I courted her and now she became my girlfriend.
Paced Narration
Some things come to your life unexpectedly. Even the tiniest probability, it still may happen. Back when I was in junior high, there was this random girl who suddenly jump unto me and clung in my arm out of fright inside a horror house at Star City. I didnât know her that time and Iâm a total stranger to her that time. I was very shocked but after that we exited the house without even knowing each other. The day after, she started to chat me online and she is trying to talk to me at school. We were on 8th grade that time and weâre on different class. Days of chatting but is was still nothing to me. Two years later, I started to notice this girl. Then, we became closer and we were on the same circle of friends. We started to talk more often and became very close to each other. Months after, I realized that Iâm starting to care for her. On the 8th of May, minutes before midnight, we got into a fight and I am forced into a corner. With the fear of losing our closeness, I accidentally spitted out my true feelings for her. Both parties were silent and I canât imagine what just happened that night. On the 9th of may, we started the morning nothing new until she told me about last night. She told me that she also has special feelings for me but she wasnât yet ready. I courted her for 6 months until that night during our acquaintance party. Iâm filled with mixed emotions that time, I canât even think of anything else. Sheâs the only thing I can think of. I almost cried in excitement when her soft delicate lips touches mine. I can clearly tell what she is trying to tell me even without blurting out a single word from her mouth. That night was the most precious moment of my life. I never expected that the random girl who clung to me before is now my girlfriend. She was my fan girl, who turned out to be my girl. Â
