Many a beings lurk out in the many realms and realities contained within the fabric of existence. Which one will you encounter? (Indie multi-muse blog for a collection of characters. “I’ll take point. We’ve analyzing these Dominator-class battleships many times during this war. Their layout doesn’t change.” The soldier grunted, taking point. One hand on his rifle and the other on a small short saber, they continued down the halls. Visible cracks and scorched littered the halls, blocking off some areas with collapsed flooring.
“If we’re in the housing section… Then the cafeteria is just above us… then recreational… batteries then the bridge. Cut the head off the snake.”
Not too far, the clapping of boots rushing to their position echoed down the halls. Hushed words and mumbles quickly silenced in the pursuit. “Stormtroopers already?”
So it seemed Revan had thrown his lot in with the attackers. Regardless, the course of action was a sound and effective plan if executed well. A competent leader could very well be the difference between victory and crushing defeat. Revan himself had been proof of such during the Mandalorian Wars.
”Anything to be concerned about beyond standard infantry equipment?” Revan asked, cutting directly to the point. Ordinarily, the Force user might’ve been a bit more discerning with asking questions that obviously marked him as being from someone clearly far away, problems might arise later, but this was the middle of a warzone, survival came first. Besides, perhaps he would gain some intel on the capabilities of his opponents.
The strike force had consisted of four people and a squad of Imperial soldiers. Two of them were Sith, a Pureblood and a Zabrak, based on the fact that they were wielding lightsabers, one had purple and the other had reddish-orange, the third one was a Chiss agent based on their uniform, and the fourth was a Dashade, an ancient race known for devouring Force Users. Based on what the video feed was providing, the creature followed the orders of the smallest member, the red skinned Zabrak.
Their teamwork was well balanced, the Pureblood and Dashade would be on the front lines drawing the attention of the security droids while the Chiss would start picking them off with her sniper rifle and the Zabrak would take on the role of support by Force healing the frontliners and covering everyone with a Static Barrier, a weak form of Force lightning that’s sole purpose was to absorb most energy based damage for a short time. It would only be when the more melee oriented droids that got to close would she resort to Force Lightning.
It was during their fight with the assassin droid, HK-47, when their target finally spoke. The Pureblood was gravely injured from a wellplaced shot to the stomach when the Zabrak was trying to heal, an act that was succeeding but slowly where the Chiss had to cover them both. Only the Dashade was confronting HK. All four looked toward a visible intercom. The two Sith glanced at each other before doing subtle nods, signalling the Chiss to lower her gun.
The Zabrak looked toward the Dashade, “Stand down, Khem.”
The behemoth, Khem, kept his blood red eyes locked onto the assassin droid as he gave a low growl but known the less lowered his vibrosword. The Chiss and Zabrak helped the Pureblood get up once the worse of his injuries was gone.
“HK, cease combat as well.” Revan’s voice commanded over the intercom. While his previous orders carried a strong implication of ceasing fire, the force user was profoundly aware the Assassin droid was extremely trigger happy and better to be explicit. The last thing Revan needed at present was for the combat to resume and ruin any possible hope of a dialog.
“I know you think you’re serving your Empire with this, attempting to take control of the Foundry, stopping me, but you’re being deceived. 300 years ago, I found your Empire and stood against the Emperor himself. But I was betrayed by one of my companions. Captured and made a prisoner for centuries in the Maelstrom Prison as a result.” Revan began, his voice firm, but carrying a slight undertone of anger as the words brought the experiences freshly to mind. He had to speak quickly to capture the Strike Team’s curiosity, but not enough to merely dismiss his words as those of a bitter madman.
The Jedi’s words soon resumed, the tone of his speech unchanged from before. “I have seen facets of your Emperor that no one else, not even the Dark Council, has. And were he to ever succeed in his goals, it would mean death for everyone. You, me, this entire galaxy. He won’t stop until it’s all been consumed to feed his power.” The former Sith Lord’s communications briefly ceased, awaiting a response. He had to see the kind of beings were being dealt with here, if there would be any chance to perhaps make them see reason, or even begin to so much as consider Revan’s words. Or if they would merely sweep aside any of his attempts to reason as meaningless.
The Chiss raised an eyebrow before looking at her companions, her Imperial accent thick, “Can that be done? Can a Sith absorb life for power?”
The first to speak was the Pureblood, “There was one. Darth Nihilus. It was said that he had to wear a particular set of robes and mask to lessen his ability, something that he couldn’t control. But for the Emperor? I cannot say.”
She then crossed her arms and snorted, “Well if he could and to a scale that this jedi says he can, then what’s the point of the whole “domination” thing you Sith do?”
Before the Pureblood could respond, the Zabrak spoke, “No competition. No worries about your underlings rising up against you.” Be wary of the Master. Be wary of the Apprentice.
The Pureblood looked at the intercom again, “Say that we believe you. Why bother with the Republic? They are weak from the war and you have access to this place, you could make your own army.”
From his position, Revan slightly frowned. Such an idea had briefly occurred to his mind, which somewhat troubled him, but it was quickly dismissed for a multitude of reasons. The force users response came in a calm tone. “And what would be done with a near endless army of machines, independent of both sides, once the conflict finished? Finish one war to bring about the dawn of another? I have no desire to create my own empire, as I once nearly did long ago. The complications that would be caused by another major power becoming involved in this war are too great, both in the short and long term.”
“Besides” Revan’s words began anew. “This factory holds much potential to aid in the restoration of war ravaged worlds and the livelihood of those whom lived there, especially planets like Taris. Even centuries after Darth Malak’s bombardment of it, the world has yet to recover.”
The strike force had consisted of four people and a squad of Imperial soldiers. The Foundry. An factory of incredible power and manufacturing ability which surpassed nearly all others in the galaxy. In another time and set of circumstances, Revan would have used this as a staging point to create a mechanical army aimed at nothing less than Genocide to stop The Sith Emperor, but the world had gone a different path. Instead, the recently freed Jedi had taken residence in The Foundry to still craft a vast array of robots, but to instead focus on a much more rational plan of rebuilding the war torn Republic worlds and strengthening it for when the inevitable war with The Sith Empire resumed in full force. Somewhat predictably, this plan was not to be without complications, as today, an Imperial strike force had made it’s way into the asteroid depths.
From his seat in the heart of the station, Revan had been observing the intruders, noting the force signature was strong, cut their way through the defenses of the station. Soon, they would reach the inner levels of the complex, soon they would reach him. Enough trouble had been caused for now, it was time to contact them before anymore damage was done.
Activating the communication system, Revan spoke. “That’s enough. It’s time we talked. I am the master of the Foundry. Once the Emperor’s prisoner, now the man you’ve come to destroy.”

“Th-that’s true…” The soldier grunted, spitted to the side of the helmet. Already the internal wipers cleaned the gunk off the jaw pieces. His words were chilling as is, a strange echo and boom followed his movements like a hole in the world. Perun guide us… The grunt thought.
He grabbed his hand, and hoisted himself back up. “Da, tovarishch. I am well enough. If you’re here, we best be moving forwards.” Rifle in hand, he motioned through the flaming halls.
Tovarishch. A curious phrase the force user knew not, but a thought for another time. The task at hand needed to be handled. Revan spoke as he paced several steps toward the gestured area, simultaneously taking the metal cylinder of his lightsaber, blade remaining dormant, in hand. “Agreed. Do you want to take point, or shall I?“ Ordinarily, Revan likely would’ve taken the role himself, but considering he could not be certain if the interior layout was as familiar as the aesthetics, this person likely possessed a more intimate familiarity, thus less time spent trying to navigate, even if Revan could sense where presences on the ship were. He was also less likely to be fired upon by this mans allies, if they saw their comrade first. On the other hand, despite the seeming trust for now, running with your back turned on someone you just met in a warzone, something The Force user felt safer in thanks to his precognitive abilities for sensing danger, was a certain way to bring about unease or suspicion. Neither feeling would be a productive in the short term.
“I’m not very familiar with the layout of this craft, but if your injuries aren’t fully healed, it may be safer for me to lead.”
[Just read your True Return AU and Revan's bio in general. Seeing as I never really played Shadow of Revan besides a couple flashpoints, first fight (I assume) with Revan and the take down of Malgus, could you please explain why you don't like that Expansion? Also my default for my muse is that she isn't the Outander. I think she's powerful enough with the Force Ghosts to have Valkorian sharing the same body as her.]
(Hooooooooooo boy. It’s mainly because how much of Revan’s character is screws around with. Now, I know a lot of people don’t like the character of Revan from ToR and the novel, but I actually do. My main gripe is it made Revan look like an absolute idiot. I assume, as you’re asking, you don’t mind spoilers. I’ll still put it under read more, because I’m publishing this. I wanna get it out there.)
(To pre-phase this, my memory of the earliest bits is a little foggy, as it’s been a LOOOOOOOOONG time since I’ve played them.)
(Not quite, actually. What Revan did was amplify Vitiate’s fear of death. Vitiate intensely feared dying, more so than most Sith aiming for immortality did. It was one of his big motivators behind getting so much powers, if I remember right. It was also the reason for making the Voice of the Emperor thing, to prevent him from dying. Revan’s assault on him in the Revan novel, was the first time in a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery long while that Vitiate thought “Shit, I might actually die.”, as that was his true body. Revan played on that fear to make him reluctant of steamrolling through The Republic for those 300 years. His personality in the Jedi Knight story and previous works is consistent. Well, as Vitiate.)
(As Valkorian, he split himself between being Valkorian and the other Emperor’s voices. I’m not sure to what extent that would effect The Emperor, but it might have, in a way, made them sorta like 2 different people shaped by their experiences. They’re the same conscious, but their experiences made them somewhat different, if that makes sense. I think it’s pretty safe to say Zakuul and Valkorian’s family was a looooooot more pleasant company than The Dark Council and Sith in general. Valkorian also mentions to the player in KoTFE about his wife and how love had an impact on him. That, and he claims himself to be beyond death now, so that worry isn’t there.)
(I’d say you’re quite right about his odd behavior, to Senya and his family, likely being The Republic and Sith Empire keeping him busy.)

(To pre-phase this, my memory of the earliest bits is a little foggy, as it’s been a LOOOOOOOOONG time since I’ve played them.)
(In the expansion, Revan is completely OBSESSED with stopping the Sith Emperor at all costs, regardless of anything and anyone who gets in his way. He takes over the Revanites and even draws in some of the Republic and Sith Empire into his ranks, even high ranking officials. This lets him get a very strong power base and pose a legitimate threat to the two factions. After exchanging in some battles trying to stop Revan from getting various artifacts, things culminate with Revan trying to resurrect the Emperor, who at this point has no physical form, on Yavin 4, where he’s hidden to recover. Revan’s idea behind this is that, because they can’t strike at The Emperor in his incorporeal state, so all they can do is wait around for him to gain his power and revive himself, they should instead revive him while he’s still recovering and strike him down for good while there’s still a chance, as almost no one in that era, even including Revan himself, can even give Vitiate so much as a slight challenge in 1v1 fights, even Revan’s odds being a coin toss not in his favor, judging by the visions Scourge got in the books.)
(Anyway, this sounds like a good idea in theory, yes? On paper, it is, the way Shadow of Revan does it, it’s a disaster. Revan’s war campaign against The Republic and Sith Empire, especially on Yavin 4, is exactly what Vitiate wants. He feeds off the death caused in the fighting, growing stronger and recovering faster. Marr and Satele Shan, 2 of the strongest force users of the era, both make this quite clear and how Revan’s resurrection attempt is utterly doomed to fail with no chance of success. They even try to bring this up to him, and Revan viciously says it’s the only way. Now, I don’t mind Revan being in the wrong here, him being rather imbalanced fits, given the whole behavior in The Foundry, and he’s been split into his light and dark halves, this being his dark half, and being drunk on the Dark Side can make you a bad decision maker at times. The problem is, despite literally everyone, even his own descendant, trying to tell Revan “Yo, this is probably a bad idea.” He doesn’t even bother listening or justifying it. He doesn’t acknowledge this is a risky plan, but has a chance, even if it’s unlikely, of success, and thus needs to be done. He just shouts about how he’s the one who has to beat Vitiate.)
(As I said, The Dark Side makes you do stupid things if you let it start controlling you instead of controlling it, something Revan was running into after getting out of stasis, but Revan, despite this incredibly poor mentality, manages to completely fool The Republic and Sith Empire so effectively, it goes virtually unnoticed till the protagonists send a signal to Shan and Marr with a list of Revanite spies on their ships. Till that point, Revan got those 2 people and their fleets to fight each other. Yet, he’s so utterly lost about Vitiate, he hasn’t even considered the idea his plan might not work. It doesn’t seem consistent to me that he can successfully manipulate The Old Republic and Sith Empire into getting into a sizable conflict, convince a multitude of high ranking officers to defect to his cause with almost fanatical devotion, and gather a force able to fight a coalition headed by Satele and Marr, yet can’t see what EVERYONE ELSE DOES about him playing 100% into Vitiates hands. I would’ve had much less issues with this if, as I said, the other characters mentioned that there’s perhaps a chance Revan’s plan could work, but it’s such a slim chance with disastrous consequences, that the risk is not worth the reward, with Revan perhaps even admitting it’s risky, but another chance won’t come and inflating his chances.)
(And, due to this, it makes Vitiate seem even more like a villain sue than he was before. The amount of setbacks this guy suffered in his entire existence can be counted on pretty much one hand, and he has a backup plan for EVERYTHING. I do like him as Valkorian in Knights of the Fallen Empire though, he got a lot more depth in my opinion.)
(To make it TL;DR, Revan’s inconsistently an idiot, but he’s also not at the same time, he should know the Emperor and his powers better than this, the send off felt like it’s just to get him out of the way, and Vitiate has yet another keikaku lined up that’s infallable.)
(Done a slight update to Revan’s background page, changed around some details of the True Return AU and involved the Revanites. Before, Revan came across as not as charismatic as he should’ve in my opinion.
(I’ve also decided it’s reasonable that Revan can use the Flow-Walk Force Power after thinking about it a bit. Revan demonstrates the use of Fold Space in The Foundry flashpoint. Both Flow-Walk and Fold Space originated from the same species in legends canon, the Aing-Tii. Considering that, as far as I know, the only people to demonstrate these abilities learned them directly from members of the species, it’s assumable Revan would have at some point, and with his intense desire to learn everything he can, would’ve learned both powers.)
The Averruncus, being the greatest of The Lifemaker’s constructs, possess an ability no other of his creations do. The power to instantly give themselves whatever knowledge they desire on most subjects and matters. It was originally developed by The Lifemaker to allow the Averruncus to instantly blend in to and infiltrate the various organizations of The Magical World.
This ability is an incredibly complex form of magic. What an Averruncus can implant themselves with is conceptually tied to where and when they are. If the piece of information they desire to learn could be considered common knowledge or is a widely known skill, they can easily gift themselves with the knowledge and achieve instant mastery. For example, learning a widely known skill, like singing or cooking, is something that the Averruncus could do without any issue, as it is a common ability. However, something more obscure, such as speaking a near extinct language which virtually no one knows, would not be possible.
The Lifemaker(And Amateru to a lesser extent) himself naturally possesses this ability, as he bestowed it onto the Averruncus, though it is more powerful and has less limits, the specifics depending on how suitable of a body he inhabits at the time. In a suitable body, where the Averruncus could not implant themselves with the knowledge, The Lifemaker could. Furthermore, where the Averruncus can only do this to themselves, The Lifemaker can bestow such gifts onto others as well.
All of the users have varying degrees of willingness to use this, most however, do not wish to use it constantly, as instantly learning most knowledge often makes things quite dull and uninteresting.
(I know it may seem a bit lazy to copy paste most of one Averruncus’s bio to another, but the parts I did copy paste are really that similar. When it comes to abilities, replace whatever their element is, and that’s pretty much it.)
(That and christ, it’s not like I didn’t put effort into the other bios too.)
*Side eyes the near 6000 word bio post that is Revan’s*
Age: Unknown, likely at least a few decades. Mental age may be hundreds of years due to genetic memory of the Averruncus.
Gender: Male.
Classification: Inhuman and immortal construct of The Lifemaker.
Occupation: None at the moment. Unsure of what to do in life.
Height: Unknown, seems about average young adult male human or so.
Relationship Status: Single. Forever single. You’ve got a very uphill battle here.
Major Personality Traits: Cold, calculating, uncaring toward most, mostly unemotional, but somewhat prone to losing his cool when things start going badly.
Likes: Magical World’s safety, The Lifemaker, succeeding in his goals.
Dislikes: Fate Averruncus, most of 3-A.
Weaknesses: Due to the fact he is restricted from killing “real” beings. Quintum usually does not use his full power against most people. While still absurdly tough on his own, Quintum loses a decent bit of durability if his barrier is broken completely, though it can be quickly repaired.
Favorite color: Doesn’t have a preference.
Favorite saying: Doesn’t have one.
Nicknames: Averruncus of Wind
Future Goals: None in mind really, unsure of what to do with the magical world saved.
Notable Items in Possession of: Code of The Lifemaker, which allows him to channel a fraction of his lords power in various ways.
Misc Info: Due to being a construct by The Lifemaker, Quintum’s physiology is nothing like a normal humans, having no organs, blood, or anything you’d expect to find in a normal being.
Alignment: Mostly neutral with some evil leanings. He is very cold and largely uncaring to people outside his organization, but ultimately cares for the safety of the world and doesn’t go out of his way to cause suffering. Definitely not a nice person though.
Background:
The 5th Averruncus created to serve Cosmo Entelecheia. Quintum remained sleeping for many years until Ala Alba and the magical worlds armies invaded The Grave Keepers Palace. After Negi Springfield’s, one of the leaders of the opposing forces, team infiltrated the palace and had a brief fight with Dynamis, in which Negi lost control of his magic and nearly died, but not before critically wounding Dynamis, Quintum, and the other 2 Averruncus, Sextum and Quartum, were awoken as secret weapons. Quintum wasted no time in engaging the second group Negi’s company had sent in, preventing them from stealing the Great Grand Master key, and foiling Cosmo Entelecheia’s plans to seal the magical world in another dimension to avert it’s destruction.
A brief fight ensured over the key, but the Averruncus power was far to great, and he quickly overwhelmed the opposition, leaving his enemies in states ranging from paralyzed for days to on the brink of death. Before he could finish them off however, Fate Averruncus, having recovered from earlier injuries fighting the same group, stopped him. Frustrated at Fate turning traitor, The Averruncus of Wind dueled the Averruncus of Earth in a brief fight. At first his superior speed seemed to let Quintum easily win. However Fate defied the normal expectations of an Averruncus model, and after pondering words of Jack Rakan, effortlessly stopped the Wind Averruncus’s attacks and defeated him in 1 blow.
Not long afterwards, The Lifemaker, Supreme God, Maker of the Magical World, and Quintum’s creator, was unsealed and resurrected his entire organization, Quintum included, to battle the combined forces of the magical worlds strongest fighters. The duel did not last long however, as Evangeline A. K. Mcdowell cast a spell to freeze Cosmo Entelecheia, save The Lifemaker, in immensely powerful and eternally freezing Ice forever.
Quintum remained in this state, conscious but frozen, for 7 years until The Lifemaker returned to The Grave keepers Palace and freed him.
Quintum remained in this state for over 7 years until his creator showed up at the site of his constructs imprisonment, freeing them all from their icy cage. In the 7 years he slept, the crisis facing Mundus Magicus, his reason for existence, was solved. Without a purpose, the Averruncus was left unsure of what to do. For now, he wanders.
SKILLS POWERS:
As a being created by The Lifemaker, Quintum was bestowed with immense abilities beyond those of the vast majority mages, including those such as super intelligence, regeneration, complete mastery over fire, magical power to effortlessly shatter mountains, and inhumanly complex barriers, just to name a few.
(Note, due to people at the Averruncus level not appearing much, the vast majority of the cast being weaker than them, and most of the people not in that category being stronger, the exact stats on this page are based upon some speculation, headcanons, and powerscaling from the few people who are the same level.)
Physical Stats:
Super Strength:
A power bestowed by The Lifemaker. Quintum has immense super strength, he is able to easily send people flying kilometers at a time and through heavily magically reinforced rock/steel. Characters somewhat weaker to on par with Quintum in physical strength have caused explosions that dwarf the better part of an entire island, with mountains on it, from physical strength.
Super Speed:
Quintum, being the Averruncus of Wind, is incredibly fast. He is capable of transforming into pure and natural lightning, reaching speeds of 2600 kilometers per second. Outside of his lightning form, he is somewhat slower, but not significantly so.
Close Quarters Combat/Martial Arts Mastery:
Knowledge installed into him by The Lifemaker. Quintum’s martial skill level far exceeds those able to completely dominate someone faster and stronger then them for a solid 15 minutes and not get hit once. He easily has the skills of a master, both by demonstration and by presumed knowledge given to him from his creator. Quintum similarly possesses mastery over a multitude of weapon types from this implanted knowledge.
Super Durability:
Par the course of all high level fighters in Negimaverse, Quintum has immense durability. This comes in 2 major sections however, his natural durability and then his power amped by his passive, complex multi-layered mandala barrier.
With Barrier: In the latters case, the multi-layered barrier has effortlessly no sold the strongest lightning spell, Thousand Thunderbolts, when it was cast as a focused spear for piercing by Negi Springfield, before his training to battle Rakan. Attacks which destroy large mountains are nothing to Quintum’s barrier.
Without Barrier: While not as durable as he is with his barrier, he is still none the less incredibly tough. Other Averruncus are able to survive(Though rather injured) several hits from EoS Negi Springfield, though he may not have been using 100% of his strength(Who’s a tier behind his father, that did this).
Genius Intelligence:
Like all the other constructs, Quintum was given high intelligence, possibly genius level. However, due to the Averruncus’s ability to modify their knowledge and give themselves the information of most of the things they need to a degree of instant mastery, one could easily consider Quintum functionally a genius.
Soul and mind:
Is it ambiguous if Quintum has a soul or not. However in the event he does, it would be immensely strong, as people far below Quintum survived an ordeal of fighting for 10 days straight and dying 70 times on their soul and mind.
It is also presumably he was given a strong being by The Lifemaker, to match his physical stats.
Super Stamina:
The Stamina possessed by a construct of The Lifemaker is beyond any normal human limits, being able to fight constantly for hours upon hours, possibly even half a day or more, before beginning to get seriously tired, as people weaker than him have fought for similar times.
Super Agility:
Quintum possesses this along with his other super stats, being able to achieve flexibility far beyond normal human limits, and many acrobatic maneuvers. Being the Averruncus of Wind, he is even more agile than the other elemental Averruncus.
High Pain Tolerance:
Quintum’s body and regeneration give very high scale pain tolerance. Quintum once suffered wounds across his entire torso, a multitude of direct slashing attacks, and recovered back into fighting almost instantly.
Disease, illness, poisons, ect….Immunity:
Due to being a magical construct, thus lacking normal physiology, and being bestowed benefits by The Lifemaker, Quintum is immune to illness and poisons. In regards to the magically afflicted variety, Quintum possesses immense magical resistance.
Shundo:
Also known as “Instant movement” is moves the user at very high speeds for a quick burst of speed, essentially a flashstep. Usually only high level mages can do anything but go one direction at a time, Quintum being one, being able to change directions mid use or even use it while floating in air. Despite it’s name, it is not literally instant movement. One can, though they must be EXTREMELY fast, intercept it mid use.
Genetic Memory:
While the Averruncus are demonstrably separate people, each with their own personality, thoughts, and beliefs, they possess the experiences of each incarnation that came before them, ensuring that, despite his bodies relative young age, Quintum possesses centuries worth of experience and memories. It should be noted he(And by extension other Averruncus) do not possess any memories of their type that came after them.
MAGICAL ABILITIES:
In addition to immense physical power, Quintum possesses great strength when it comes to the mystical and magical realm, having been bestowed power that eclipses all but the absolute strongest warriors of the magical realm. Furthermore, magic in Negima is conceptual based, to quote Vetus
In modern science, the phenomenon of fire is the release of light and heat energy due to combustion. However, in classical elements, fire in itself is a “substance.” Magic is tied to a system of four elements, born from the world’s prime essences (第一原質 daiichi genshitsu), and from which forms the basis for all things in existence.
While magically-enabled fire or water are scientifically sound – for example, fire is a phenomenon, water is a liquid – they also ignore factors such as causation or physics, due to magic being born in a different age and cultural background. The substance called “fire” is simply a source of smoke, light, and heat, which burns everything in its surroundings. Regardless of any local conditions, “fire” will never lose these properties.
“Fire” will never burn out and can exist on water or in a complete vacuum; “water” will remain in liquid form regardless of temperature; “wind” will retain its designated velocity regardless of surrounding conditions; and “earth” will never change its physical composition.
In essence, what this means is that elemental magic does not follow the laws of physics and are by and large nearly impossible to effect outside of the Negima magic system, or similar conceptual effects. Without them, fire cannot be put out, water cannot be frozen, and similar effects.
See here for more general information about magic in Negima.
Elemental Manipulation:
The staple of magic. While there are many other things one can do with magic, controlling the elements to do your bidding is the primary one for higher level magic. Every mage has a specialty or two, lightning and wind in Quintum’s case. In these two elements, Quintum has absolute mastery, knowing virtually every spell, but that doesn’t mean they can’t learn other spells of differing elements. On the lower end, there are simple abilities, such as creating a ball of fire in ones hand or freezing a puddle of water. Mid-tier level abilities can perform feats along the lines of call forth entire storms worth of lightning, encase an entire town in ice, and light as far as the eye can see on fire. At the absolute peak, lightning able to shatter entire countries can be summoned.
General magic use:
Though Wind/Lightning Magic is Quintum’s main domain, he possesses the ability to use many more types of magic than just lightning. This can range from the more mundane things (including but not limited to things such as disarming, telepathy, sleeping, basic healing of wounds, stamina-recovering, manipulation of objects, anti-hypnosis, illusions, memory sharing/erasing, deflecting, love spells, binding fields, magic dispelling, sealing bottle, and illusion breaking), to offensive spells containing immense, even country shattering, power. However, his offensive spells not in the lightning specialty, are less powerful than their electrical type counterparts.
Mandala Barrier:
Like all mages, Quintum possesses a passive barrier. Even the lowest level can stop a 10 ton truck moving at full speed. Other users of this barrier have had their barriers easily hold against force that causes explosions dwarfing islands and mountains. The highest level mages have barriers which can match the effect of wards and rituals, possessing many complex layers and providing protection from all manner of things, such as forced teleportation or mental attacks to name a few of many. Quintum’s is of an even higher level, being gifted by The Lifemaker, God, himself. See this page for details.
Flight:
The basic ability to float in the air. Most mages need special items to do this, such as staffs. but Quintum can fly perfectly fine without such items.
Magical Senses:
Magical senses are used to incredibly enhance someone’s senses, such as better sight and hearing. Many users of magic or Magi also have ESP (Extrasensory Perception) and are able to read the minds of others, distinguish among particular magic powers, perceive future events, detect infiltration into a specified area, be aware when one’s self is being observed, sense the feelings of one to whom one is close, note the presence of a spiritual being, see through an illusion, detect the presence and location of another Magi, among other forms of truly extraordinary, extrasensory perception. Another Averruncus could sense and instantly find someone who had teleported far away and spread 17 identical clones of themselves across an entire city.
Magical Resistance:
More or less for defensive purposes, magical resistance is used by mages to provide protection to a variety of things, ranging from temperature, illness, magical effects like illusion and hypnosis, to even limited timestop protection for the absolute top(Quintum is somewhat in this bracket of power and should naturally have higher then normal magical protection given from The Lifemaker). This can be augmented by The Code of the Lifemaker to some degree, under certain conditions.
Illusions:
Though not commonly used on magical beings, due to there being spells to shatter them or higher level beings able to see right through them, even the most novice of mages can create incredibly complex and realistic illusions. A toddler, of whom no special or unique traits were attached too, of only several years of age was capable of creating illusions so realistic, they could be physically felt by a novice mage, and said mage was completely unable to distinguish them from reality. Against someone unable to see through illusions or shatter them, phantasmal magic of this caliber can be a terrifying power.
Quintum never really makes use of illusion make. However, as it is one of the most basic spells, and his power of easily that of a world-class mage, it is easy to assume Quintum can make literally life-like illusions of incredible strength and complexity that some would be hard pressed to see through.
Alchemy:
Primarily the practice of making potions. With alchemy, one can make a variety of compounds with diverse effects. These can be something like a catalyst potion, a potion used to give a mage a crutch and provide them the ability to use spells they normally may be unable to cast, provided they have magical power in the ballpark of the spell, to consumables like love potions. Among higher level mages, it is generally disregarded, as their sheer magical power and spell arsenal can achieve the effects of most alchemy in a much quicker and high scale manner.
Regeneration:
All Averruncus possess high levels of regeneration, at full strength being able to instantly heal many deep gashes across their entire torsos, or even rapidly heal against having parts of their body, even entire limbs continuously vaporized by punches.
Immortality:
All of The Lifemaker’s constructs possess hard to bypass immortality, being ageless and having immense regeneration makes them very difficult to kill, able to even rapidly heal their limbs back from being continuously vaporized by punches. With CoTLM they become nigh impossible to kill, if given the time to set it up in advance, as they can undo erasure from existence. That said, without using Code of the Lifemaker, they still have some exploitable limits. The 2 key ones are that if their head is removed, it largely incapacitates them as it would take longer than is combat viable to heal. Secondly, being cut in half also has similar effects. These can be subverted by merely moving the severed parts back into place, thus letting them reattach themselves, but without this, an injury of this caliber effective defeats an Averruncus.
Teleportation:
A higher level spell, Quintum is able to instantly move from one place to the next, regardless of time or spacial restrictions. The exact method is unknown how, but other Averruncus have demonstrated it, so it is likely Quintum can. The presumed method is through something like vanishing into the wind, perhaps.
Self-Knowledge implanting:
See this headcanon
Lightning Form:
Quintum’s mastery over lightning lets him even transmute his very body into the element. This transformation makes Quintum into natural lightning, with all the advantages this brings. He can, using the mechanics of lightning, use it as a medium to achieve incredibly high speed of 2600km/s. This is done by creating a charged “streamer” at one place, then using the difference in charge between himself and the streamer to cross distance. One can’t take advantage of this by striking the streamer before Quintum arrives, due to the fact he can change direction at will and possesses a mental thinking speed of 2600km/s, easily letting himself react at this speed. This also provides some additional resistance to mind reading, due to the fact his mind is processing thoughts far faster than most can handle.
In addition to all of this, due to being comprised of a loss mass of particles that are natural lightning, Quintum is intangible and quite difficult to harm through most means.
Code of The Lifemaker:
With special keys that channel The Lifemaker’s divine power, one using The Code of The Lifemaker, may accomplish several mind bending feats, if they know how to use it. Quintum possesses a Grandmaster Key, the second of three tiers.
Limited Reality Warping: Those possessing the code have limited reality warping powers. This includes things like creation of matter and manipulation of anything made by The Lifemaker(Against these, it’s more relative omnipotence). Those with the Grandmaster Keys(What members of Cosmo Entelecheia have) can even completely and utterly erase someone they hurt sufficiently enough, leaving no trace of them on any level of reality. They can even undo this very kind of existence erasure on themselves for defensive purposes, if it’s set up in advance.
Summoning: The higher tiers of CoTLM can summon immense armies of demons, ranging into well over half a million demons. These vary in strength, some just being a bit over an average mage, to even able to effortlessly shred 100m+ rocks and be bigger then those rocks.
Teleporting: This has two functions, teleporting the user, and forcibly teleporting someone else. This power even allows one to teleport transdimensionally and teleport those with protection against forced relocation, while in another dimension.
STAT SUMMARY:
Destructive Power: Likely around country level or so, higher with strongest spells.
Durability: County level, large country to possibly continental with Mandala Barrier.
Speed: Massively beyond hypersonic in base. 2600 Kilometers per second in Lightning Form.
Range: Possibly country wide by power scaling
Physical Strength: Likely around country level or so(Should have physical strength close to that some of his stronger spells)
Intelligence: Genius level. While gifted with a naturally high intellect by The Lifemaker, Quintum can instantly give himself mastery level knowledge over many things.
Stamina: VASTLY inhuman, should easily be able to fight for hours upon hours without stopping, possibly even days.
TL;DR: Super strength, speed, durability, stamina, agility, intelligence, immortality, illusions, flight, teleportation, conceptual based magic, incredibly diverse utility magic(including but not limited to things such as disarming, telepathy, sleeping, basic healing of wounds, stamina-recovering, manipulation of objects, anti-hypnosis, illusions, memory sharing/erasing, deflecting, love spells, binding fields, magic dispelling, sealing bottle, and illusion breaking), limited reality warping*, creation*, instant large army summoning abilities*, Mandala barrier, absolute mastery in using nearly all forms of lightning and wind magic, can use an incredibly wide array of other spells beyond those as well, can summon elemental spirits, can make weapons and constructs primarily out of lightning but also other elements, master close quarters combatant, powerful soul(Possibly) and mind, regeneration, illness and poison immunity, inhuman physiology, magical resistance, magical senses, can sense and physically hurt intangible beings like spirits or elementals, can transform himself into lightning, intangible when in lightning form, able to implant knowledge into himself via conceptual magic(See headcanons)
Relationship Status: HAHAHAHA, GOOD LUCK (Seriously though, single. Not likely to be looking. Ever.)
Major Personality Traits: Loud, violent, sociopathic, highly devoted toward his cause, rude, more friendly toward the few he cares at all for, such as fellow Cosmo Entelecheia members.
Likes: Violence, burning things, The Lifemaker, succeeding in his goals.
Dislikes: Be restricted from killing or using his full powers.
Weaknesses: Due to the fact he is restricted from killing “real” beings. Quartum usually does not use his full power against most people. While still absurdly tough on his own, Quartum loses a decent bit of durability if his barrier is broken completely, though it can be quickly repaired.
Favorite color: Doesn’t have a preference.
Favorite saying: Doesn’t have one.
Nicknames: Averruncus of Fire
Future Goals: None in mind really, unsure of what to do with the magical world saved.
Notable Items in Possession of: Code of The Lifemaker, which allows him to channel a fraction of his lords power in various ways.
Misc Info: Due to being a construct by The Lifemaker, Quartum’s physiology is nothing like a normal humans, having no organs, blood, or anything you’d expect to find in a normal being.
Alignment: Evil with perhaps some neutral leanings. Ultimately works for what he believes is the best for The Magical World, but doesn’t seem particularly concerned and is even disappointed he cannot kill people as per his creators word. Loves suffering too much to be called a Well Intentioned Extremist.
Background: The Averruncus of Fire created at an unknown point in time to serve the organization Cosmo Entelecheia, a group formed by the creator of Mundus Magicus, dedicated to preventing it’s inevitable collapse. He was kept in sleeping until he was needed. This time proved to be during the climactic battle between Ala Alba and Cosmo Entelecheia, at The Grave Keepers Palace. He was awoken and quickly toyed with several of the enemies members, purposefully making explosions just shy of hitting their ship, slicing another ship in half, erasing one of them from the totality of existence, and impaling another with a spear of fire. It seemed the Fire Averruncus’s victory was assured.
Before he could get serious and finish the job however, Negi Springfield suddenly arrived on the scene and reversed the beating, turning the tables on Quartum in a matter of moments, culminating in cutting the Averruncus in half. Giving one last glare of shock and anger toward his enemy, Quartum fell kilometers and kilometers to the ground, though not dead, he was out of the fight.
The chance for vengeance came a short time later when The Lifemaker, his lord, master, and creator of both him and the entire magical world, was unsealed in the battle. The creator god of unfathomable power then proceeded to resurrect and resummon his entire organization, Quartum included. Him and several others wasted no time in attempting to kill the now exhausted Negi and Fate, who were tired from their own previous battles. He nearly succeeded until Evangeline A.K Mcdowell and the rest of Ala Rubra showed up on scene. A brief fight resulted between the two forces that ended with Evangeline freezing all of the resurrected organization, bar The Lifemaker, into an external freezing prison of her strongest magic.
Quartum remained in this state for over 7 years until his creator showed up at the site of his constructs imprisonment, freeing them all from their icy cage. In the 7 years he slept, the crisis facing Mundus Magicus, his reason for existence, was solved. Without a purpose, the Averruncus was left unsure of what to do. For now, he wanders.

SKILLS POWERS:
As a being created by The Lifemaker, Quartum was bestowed with immense abilities beyond those of the vast majority mages, including those such as super intelligence, regeneration, complete mastery over fire, magical power to effortlessly shatter mountains, and inhumanly complex barriers, just to name a few.
Physical Stats:
Super Strength:
A power bestowed by The Lifemaker. Quartum has immense super strength, he is able to easily send people flying kilometers at a time and through heavily magically reinforced rock/steel. Characters somewhat weaker to on par with Quartum in physical strength have caused explosions that dwarf the better part of an entire island, with mountains on it, from physical strength.
Super Speed:
Quartum’s super speed is such to the point that he is able to partially keep up with Raiten Taisou II Negi, until Negi fully used his super speed. Raiten Taisou II Negi possesses a combat speed of 2600 kilometers per second(Nearly mach 8000). While not exactly on his level, it is still a huge testament to the Averruncus’s reaction times.
Close Quarters Combat/Martial Arts Mastery:
Knowledge installed into him by The Lifemaker. Quartum’s martial skill level far exceeds those able to completely dominate someone faster and stronger then them for a solid 15 minutes and not get hit once. He easily has the skills of a master, both by demonstration and by presumed knowledge given to him from his creator. Quartum similarly possesses mastery over a multitude of weapon types from this implanted knowledge.
Super Durability:
Par the course of all high level fighters in Negimaverse, Quartum has immense durability.
Attacks which destroy large mountains are nothing to Quartum’s barrier.
Without Barrier: While not as durable as he is with his barrier, he is still none the less incredibly tough. Able to survive(Though rather injured) several hits from EoS Negi Springfield(Who’s a tier behind his father, that did this).
Genius Intelligence:
Like all the other constructs, Quartum was given high intelligence, possibly genius level. However, due to the Averruncus’s ability to modify their knowledge and give themselves the information of most of the things they need to a degree of instant mastery, one could easily consider Quartum functionally a genius.
Soul and mind:
Is it ambiguous if Quartum has a soul or not. However in the event he does, it would be immensely strong, as people far below Quartum survived an ordeal of fighting for 10 days straight and dying 70 times on their soul and mind.
Quartum possesses this along with his other super stats, being able to achieve flexibility far beyond normal human limits, and many acrobatic maneuvers.
High Pain Tolerance:
Quartum’s body and regeneration give very high scale pain tolerance. Another Averruncus got completely sliced open across his entire torso and recovered back into fighting almost instantly.
Disease, illness, poisons, ect….Immunity:
Due to being a magical construct, thus lacking normal physiology, and being bestowed benefits by The Lifemaker, Quartum is immune to illness and poisons. In regards to the magically afflicted variety, Quartum possesses immense magical resistance.
Shundo:
Also known as “Instant movement” is moves the user at very high speeds for a quick burst of speed, essentially a flashstep. Usually only high level mages can do anything but go one direction at a time, Quartum being one, being able to change directions mid use or even use it while floating in air. Despite it’s name, it is not literally instant movement. One can, though they must be EXTREMELY fast, intercept it mid use.
Genetic Memory:
While the Averruncus are demonstrably separate people, each with their own personality, thoughts, and beliefs, they possess the experiences of each incarnation that came before them. In Quartum’s case, he has the memories of all previous Fire Averruncus and other elemental Averruncus, ensuring that, despite his bodies relative young age, he possesses centuries worth of experience and memories. It should be noted they do not possess any memories of their type that came after them.
MAGICAL ABILITIES:
In addition to immense physical power, Quartum possesses great strength when it comes to the mystical and magical realm, having been bestowed power that eclipses all but the absolute strongest warriors of the magical realm. Furthermore, magic in Negima is conceptual based, to quote Vetus

Mid-tier level abilities can perform feats along the lines of call forth entire storms worth of lightning, encase an entire town in ice, and light as far as the eye can see on fire. At the absolute peak, fire reaching well into the millions and beyond star core temperatures that possess county shattering power, can be called upon.
General magic use:
Though Fire Magic is Quartum’s main domain, he possesses the ability to use many more types of magic than just fire. However, his offensive spells not in the fire specialty, are less powerful than their fire type counterparts.
Fire Magic:
Quartum’s main specialty. Being the Averruncus of Fire, Quartum is able to manipulate fire to an immense degree beyond nearly any mage. In addition, he knows all forms of fire magic in the Negimaverse. Quartum’s unchanted fire is hot enough to instantly vaporize steel, a feat requiring temperatures well in the millions to do.
Mandala Barrier:
Like all mages, Quartum possesses a passive barrier. Even the lowest level can stop a 10 ton truck moving at full speed. Other users of this barrier have had their barriers easily hold against force that causes explosions dwarfing islands and mountains. This can be augmented by The Code of the Lifemaker to some degree, under certain conditions.

Code of The Lifemaker:
With special keys that channel The Lifemaker’s divine power, one using The Code of The Lifemaker, may accomplish several mind bending feats, if they know how to use it. Quartum possesses a Grandmaster Key, the second of three tiers.
Limited Reality Warping: Those possessing the code have limited reality warping powers. Durability: County level, large country to possibly continental with Mandala Barrier.
Speed: Massively beyond hypersonic (Can somewhat keep up with lightning form people, which move at 2600 km/s, over 17 times faster then the average speed of lightning. So high end 4 digit machs most likely.)
Range: Possibly country wide by power scaling
Physical Strength: Likely around country level or so(Should have physical strength close to that some of his stronger spells)

Half dazed and bleeding, the soldier hung his head over to Revan. Hands already balled up, ready to defend herself before he spoke. His heart skipped a beat; the air swelled like a thick miasma belching from this human… Was he human? The mask, so distinctly foreign. Neither Belkan, Galean, Shutran… Was it even of this world?
Whoever this person was appearing from the smoked air like a reverent as ghostly hands tended down. The blue waves trickled down the wound, burning like a pure Shutran alcohol with molted metal. Behind the helmet, his eyes bugged out. Biting down his tongue, his legs spasmed out, clanking the mana-based polyform ceramics against the metal flooring.
At the moment, everything was either dead or dying about the area. The fighting broke out further along the ships bowels. Toxic smoke and quakes rocked the interior of the ship, from the hangers to the battlements. In the far distance, more boarding pods were incoming, ready to reinforce the Shutran offense.
“A long story. And I’d say the middle of a battlefield isn’t the best time for lengthy explanations.” Revan quipped as the healing power continued to work it’s abilities. “But you can consider me an ally. If you need some proof, then take this act as confirmation. An enemy would‘ve ended you already.” It was a simple and blunt answer, unlikely to be very satisfactory when concerning a mysterious and unknown figure appearing out of thin air, but it would have to be sufficient for now. As the Force user said, there just simply wasn’t time right now. He just hopped the other would understand.
The glow around Revan’s hand ebbed away into nothingness a moment later, and with it, the healing energy. This was likely to be as good as he could do, hopefully, it would be enough. The abilities of The Force were immense, but even it had limits. With immediate concerns over the others health less pressing, now was the time for action and to get moving. He couldn’t imagine this relative peace would last long, the force user sensed more presences, reinforcements for the boarding party he assumed, fast approaching the massive vessel who’s inner hull was already engulfed in combat.
