I really really like Rocket. I’ve got a bunch of headcanons lined up for him,,,1!1!
- First things first, I’d say Rocket is kinda like a dog in someway. He can be very standoffish and distrusting to anyone he doesn’t know or recognize, but the moment he learns to trust someone and care for them, he’s loyal as hell. Like, in example, he used to really, REALLY hate Zuka when he was first taken in. He assumed this was just another cruel act of someone being kind to him for their own benefit, he didn’t expect to stay long. So he’d bite, argue, talk back. Anything that would make Zuka dislike him. But Zuka persisted, and Rocket slowly learned that maybe he wasn’t so bad. The same thing happened with Sword. He found Sword very annoying and loud at first, oftentimes overwhelming. But the more often he saw him, the more tolerable the guy became. The more he enjoyed being around him. Tl;dr: he’s very very loyal to the two people he trusts most even if he basically wanted them dead at first
- Rocket often finds himself brushing things off a lot, especially when he’s hurt. Mainly due to the fact that back in Playground he was taught to just 'tough it out' and 'walk it off'. Both Sword and Zuka have repeatedly tried to break that habit, but it’s one that just stuck around.
- He’s Lowkey a hypocrite. He sees Sword sometimes training wayyy too much, and will tell him to take breaks. But when in exchange, he’s told to do the same, he’ll just brush it off and continue whatever he was doing for hours on end. This shows up in other bad habits of his too,,
