The Morning After
Reina squinted as the morning sunlight hit her face. The time in the hospital had been... trying to say the least. So many questions they had asked her... Where? Who? Why? and also How? How did the third degree burns on her arms and face heal in a matter of days rather than months? Why was her face pristine? She didn't even know the answer, and the fact was, she actually came out of it looking... urrg... younger... more... dare she think it and not vomit? Innocent.
So one fine morning she walked out the doors of the hospital and into the near blinding spring morning sunshine. Action one.... she needed money. Money gave power here. Action two... she needed minions. Would never do to do her own dirty work. And action three... she would destroy them all. That brat of a little Alice, the damn counterfeit rabbit, Her faithless and useless jaberwockie, The hatter who had stormed her palace, the fucking hare and dormouse who had tried to destroy her as well... all of them... Her demon had deserted her... and for that he too would die. They and everyone around them.
No... wait.... A grin spread across her face and she began to laugh out loud. She would let them live... in misery!! She would take everything they loved... everything that meant anything to them... and destroy it!! It was perfect! Delicious!!! Now to go and make a few bucks to get the ball rolling...
Stunning
((OK, totally found the perfect FC for the queen of hearts))
Shadows
It is infuriating. It is humiliating. Beaten by a bunch of peasants and a little girl with a death wish. My power is gone... and I am a shadow of what I once was. Mortal... I am nothing more than a normal human woman. It's just... I cannot say how terrible it is to lose everything. It was mine by birthright... now... now the mirror has diminished me and taken away all that was once mine. It would have been better if that accursed thing had killed me. As it is... I am at loose ends. I will find a way, however. I will get them back... I will have my revenge... one day.
Coming tomorrow, "Shadows" a drabble
Viva la Revolution part 1.
((The order: Red Queen, Johnny, Cheshire, Nivens, Absolem, Alice, Ada, Thackery, Sophie, Tarrant, Mally, Missy. (If you are listed here and do not want to participate, even to react, or you are not listed here and want to be, let me know))
The queen watches as the wolves fought amongst themselves over her throne room and sighed in boredom. There had been no reports back from her demon, and the rumors of brewing revolution drifted around her in an uncomfortable cloud. She needed to do something more. She turned to the wolf Aloha who stood by her side. "Fenrir... I do believe my demon has 'gone native' on me... not a word since he left... Go... get me another to work with... a good hostage..." She smiled. "Your choice this time, my good man."
The wolf returned her expression with a grin that was all sharp bladed teeth and menace, before barking a few orders to his men and leaving in a swirl of the cloak that was part of his uniform as her new captain of the guard.

Later, a group of wolves once again made the stealthy approach through the rabbit hole to where their target was, this time their leader was at the forefront, a menacing smile on his lips. This would be very satisfying... very satisfying indeed.
So Good To Be Home - Reina, Her minions, and Thackery
Regina rolled her eyes and snapped her red and white fan open and closed contemptuously. âDonât be a demanding prima donna, Dorchadas. He is useful to my plans. He is trusted by a number of people whom are brewing revolution. And I know how much you adore quelling those. Blood, my freind. The land will be absolutely red with it.â
She looked him up and down, considering. âThat is, unless you arenât up to the task?â She would play on his vanity and sense of superiority for this one, she decided. âUnless he is too pure for even you to use? I had thought to get another demon for the job, but you are the best I haveâŠâ She shrugged in a way that seemed almost dismissive. âIf you canât⊠I shall have to think of something elseâŠâ She sat in her throne with a sigh of resignation. She was fairly certain he would take it as a challenge now.
He scoffed at her, moving forward a few steps, stretching out this form. Quite muscular really. Howâd he even manage it, especially with the Marchness? Serious will power ThackeryâŠ
âOh thereâs no such thing as too pure Queenie. Ridding him of that will be a delight in the taskâŠperhaps one of the friends he hasâŠstop the revolution from the inside.â He watched her try to play him about. Bless her, thinking she owned him now she had provided him with a host. Heâd assist in the matter out of respect, but if she believed him to return afterâŠ.then the power had obviously gone to her head.
"Hmm... I had thought to have you use that form to confront them directly, but your idea has much more merit. I like it. Go then, before the boy is missed to terribly, and report back as much as possible. I look forward to seeing your accomplishments." She made a small dismissive gesture, and the wolves backed away from the doorway, not wanting the demon to touch them on the way out.
"Oh, and if you need a snack first, feel free to help yourself to any of my loyal servants here..." She smiled, watching the unicorns and wolves cower.
So Good To Be Home - Reina, Her minions, and Thackery
The hares eyes snapped open at the name. Neon purple they were now, as opposed to their previous one green, one dull purple. He sat up. Dorchadas made Thackeryâs body sit up. Claws appeared where the fingernails once were, snapping out in a quick motion, cutting the rope that bound their hands together, releasing them. Ignoring the Queen for now, he inspected his new hands. Strong. Oh, he was a bass player. A band memberâŠhe worked his way through Thackeryâs still sleeping mind, frowning more and more. What had he done with his life?! UghâŠfamily..friendsâŠNO PARTNERS?! He was still innocent! This would not do at all.
âPATHETIC!â he bellowed out, finally finding the voice. He stood up, ignoring the hand that had been waiting for him. He didnât need her help. âThis form is but a mere child still! Could you do no better?!â He glared down at her. The potential was there within Thackery, but getting him to do as toldâŠHe was asleep now, though even Dorchadas was unaware of how long it would last. He was weak, and getting a pure hare to do what he wanted on next to no energyâŠthis was hassle he did not need.
Regina rolled her eyes and snapped her red and white fan open and closed contemptuously. "Don't be a demanding prima donna, Dorchadas. He is useful to my plans. He is trusted by a number of people whom are brewing revolution. And I know how much you adore quelling those. Blood, my freind. The land will be absolutely red with it."

So Good To Be Home - Reina, Her minions, and Thackery
âBut you did, my dear⊠you did the wrong things⊠But no worries⊠once this is done, you will never be bad again⊠you will do everything just rightâŠâ She sat the egg on the floor before the hare and touched the top gently. âIâve found a host for you.â She cooed to the egg. The sides opened like the petals of a flower, and a cold black and green light, a mist, began to rise from it, and flow towards the hare.
Thackery stumbled back, off his knees. His hands were tied too tight..he couldnât get up. Hastily and desperate he tried to crawl back, away from the smoke forming out of the egg. A sharp pain in his back. The guards were holding him there. He couldnât escape. This was it.Â
The smoke billowed quickly out of the egg, moving around itâs casket, almost as if it were stretching. It was itâs own form. It was very much alive. Fear. YesâŠthe hare..a march hare. Oh this will do very nicely indeed. He gathered himself up, forming largely over the cowering form on the floor. Oh bless, itâll be over soon. Iâd say you wouldnât feel a thing butâŠ
Thackery looked up at the terrifying shroud of darkness, the green wisping around the blackâŠtoâŠeyesâŠshoulders, arms, long slender knife-like claws appearing at the ends of them. The faceâŠteeth, sharp, unfriendly, menacing. He was frozen in place.
My dearest Thackery. So much potential. Let me help youâŠ.The demon reached out his smoky claws around the hare who promtly shut his eyes, causing an almopst sympathetic pout. Oh this wasnât ever going to be pleasant. Iâll make it up to you though Thackery, I will. He reached forward, hands finally grasping onto those shaking shoulders. He began to merge with the being.
The contact was cold.
ââ
NoâŠno please no donât not me anything else..kill me.Â
Thackery, you really want to die now?
LEAVE ME ALONE GET OUT GO
Hush now. Itâll be over soon. Just relaxâŠhere, iâll be kind to you. Go to sleep Thackery~
NO GET OUT NO IâŠIâŠnoâŠpleaseâŠ.
There there my pet. Sweet dreams
ââ
Thackery lay still on the hard ground, as the demon almost breathed himself into Thackery, the black smog surrounding the hare, before entering him all at once in a quick breath.
The queen watched with a pleased expression. This was precisely what she had intended. It seemed that her dear demon approved of this one. She gave him a moment to adjust.
"Good morning, Dorchadas." She smiled and held out a hand to help him up. "So sorry I didn't find you one sooner. But I figured unicorns would be... unsuitable... and wolf just doesn't have the same delicious contrast, don't you think?" The wolves and unicorns shrank back from the creature wearing the hare's form, knowing it for what it was and filled with instinctual fear.
So Good To Be Home - Reina, Her minions, and Thackery
The wolves snickered, not answering any of the questions the hare had, and dragged him towards the rabbit hole. Their third, who had been waiting at the doorway as lookout, greeted them with a nod, and the three of them leaped down the hole with howls of triumph.
They dragged the hare through the woods at a breakneck pace, and then up one rabbit hole and down another, taking a shortcut to the palace under the watchful eyes of the knights guarding the portals. Finally, they took him up the stairs to the throne room, and threw him to the ground before the queen, first removing the sack from his head.
âThackery EarwicketâŠâ She sighed a dramatically sad sigh. âYour family was never much trouble⊠and then just this generation⊠Your brother, and now you⊠Running off without a visa⊠consorting with known rebels and fugitivesâŠâ she shook her head and tsked. âI fear the usual methods of rehabilitation will not work.â She took out a box and held it out. the face of a fearsome creature was on it, and she opened it to show a small green crystal egg within, filled with swirling blackness. âDo you have anything to say for yourself?â
âW-where are you taking me? Who are you? S-STOP!â All his attempts to find out what was going on were met by laughter or shoves as they dragged him along, still with the sack over his head. Oh please, let someone have seen, let it be on the security cams. Someone find his still warm tea, figure what happened. Someone, anyone come and find me. He was shaking with fear. He hadnât done anything!
After a while, the floor felt different. As in, it was actual floor. StairsâŠoh..oh no. No please no anything else he hadnât done anything wrong at all! He was thrown onto his knees, them slamming into contact with the hard floor, making him gasp slightly. The sack was lifted and he blinked, adjusting to the light, looking round wide eyed the moment he could, head turning from side to side, ears dancing over his shoulders. He looked up at the voice and promptly sunk into himself, averting his gaze to the ground before him, listening infront of the Red Queen.
Visa? They needed permission to leave? NicholasâŠand Johnny. But that wasnât fair! Rehabilitation?! He looked up, eyes wide with fear and he looked upon the egg. Heâd heard of those nightmares. The egg inside holding within a demon from hell itself. He shook his head, trying to shuffle back on his knees, wanting away from here. âN-no but I-I didnât do anything! N-not thatâŠplease please noâŠâ
"But you did, my dear... you did the wrong things... But no worries... once this is done, you will never be bad again... you will do everything just right..." She sat the egg on the floor before the hare and touched the top gently. "I've found a host for you." She cooed to the egg. The sides opened like the petals of a flower, and a cold black and green light, a mist, began to rise from it, and flow towards the hare.
So Good To Be Home - Reina, Her minions, and Thackery
Two wolves, tall, strong, with eyes glowing faint green, slinked through the door towards the hare. One was male, the other female. The grins on their faces were twin embodiments of menace.âTime to go home, little bunnyâŠâ the female cooed, and grabbed Thackery by the front of his shirt. The male came round behind him and pulled a bag over his head, tough burlap fabric, witch he tied quickly in place before getting a grip on the bassistâs hands and tieing them behind. All of it took only moments, the motions practiced and smooth.
He heard a voice that sent a chill down his spine. Still holding onto his ears he turned round quickly, wide eyed, somewhat being forced round by the hand now on the front of his shirt. He tried to step back from her, putting his hands to move hers from his shirt before being coated in darkness. He tried to turn round, to lift it up off of him but his hands where quickly tied behind him. âN-No..l-leave me alone!â he begged, voice cracked already with panic. He couldnât see, he didnât know who they were, what was going on. Where they would take himâŠhe tried to struggle against the people. He didnât know how manyâŠ

So Good To Be Home - Reina, Her minions, and Thackery
Reina Watched with a slight smile as the simulacrum she had commissioned to take her place while she sojourned abroad was melted down, screaming. The wolves in her employ watched silently as the doubleâs face disappeared in a pool of wax. It had worked well. âReally that type is the only way to go, donât you think, Fenrir?â She looked down at the pack leader, who was her adviser on the state of the kingdom.
âYes My Queen. Itâs the soul that does it⊠Makes it indistinguishable from a living being. Handy, that.â
She nodded. âSo⊠what had been going on in my kingdom while Iâve been away?â She settled into her throne, her arm still stiff from being torn way and reattached. She had followed a group of musicians up who had gone without her permission, with every intention of punishing them, but had instead had her arms torn off and been imprisoned in a hospital for months. Finally she had managed to get to a portal home. âWhat is this I hear about a revolution brewing?â
âRumors, my Queen. We have not found any proof.â
âReally? Then what is all this about the doctor being active again? New rabbit holes being made?â
One of the unicorn slaves that generally attended her cleared her throat quietly. âI have heard that his new rabbit companion glows like the moon, My Lady.â
âA⊠glowing⊠rabbit?â her hands clenched and her face went red. She new exactly who was to blame here. She should have killed them all when she had the chance! âOff with their heads!â She snarled, but them calmed a bit, stroking her unicornâs pale hair. âActually no⊠I have a plan⊠Get the hare. heâs the most docile, we can take him easily.â
Fenrir bowed. âAs you wish, my queen.â He turned and snarl-baked orders in wolf to his pack, and several of them grinned with fiendish pleasure as they took off for the rabbit hole. They always did love hunting hareâŠ
When they reached the stage area, all was silence. They snuck quietly up to the door with the hareâs name on it backstage, and opened it, their footsteps only making the faintest sound.
Thackery had been having the most relaxing morning. A full day off, started with a bath which was very successful. Successful in the fact his ears had remained dry throughout and he wasnât interrupted. That was always a pest, sharing a bathroom. Although, most have moved outâŠall the couplesâŠgood for them.
After his bath, heâd retreated to make himself a full pot of tea. He was still a little stiff on the Christmas songs somehow. The replacements had been polite enough, but it wasnât the same. He missed Tarrant and Mallymkun. Nothing could be done though. Taking the tea onto a tray and into his room, he set it on the bedside table, lifting up the teapot to pour himself a cup as the sheet music was already laid over his bed, guitar propped up against the headboard.
His ears twitched suddenly. Must be but a body spasm. Again they went. He frowned, placing down the teapot, reaching his hands up to stroke them. âHmmâ he wondered. What was causing this now then?
Two wolves, tall, strong, with eyes glowing faint green, slinked through the door towards the hare. One was male, the other female. The grins on their faces were twin embodiments of menace."Time to go home, little bunny..." the female cooed, and grabbed Thackery by the front of his shirt. Trolling the redladymanager
The woman stood there for a moment, dumbstruck. then she narowed her eyes. âWell then, if I dont find all of your contracts once that office is clean, you will all be getting the axe! each and every last one of you!â
Cheshire shrugged. âLast I checked we are on the pay rollâŠAnd last time I did check things you canât axe entertainment without their contract to prove they went against their contract.â he said in a smartalec(sp?) way smiling as innocently as he can. âNot much for a dumb cat now.â he disappeared to reappear behind her. â âSides wheres the fun in this world if even the queen gets to have all the fun.â Wonder when shell hit me? He thought since in underland he would always get hit for being a naughty cat.
She smiled sweetly. "Oh you think you are such a clever puss! Well, I'm sure that Personell has copies of them... Its just that I can fire whomever is suspected of taking them, because they are company property, and who else would want them but you lot. It's all verry touching the way you are trying to save those ridiculous simulations, but you are no more than a cat batting at a mouse on a television screen. They are just programs, and thus, nothing..." She walked away, secretly praying that the nuisance cat would leave her be now.
Trolling the redladymanager
The cats jibe hit home and the woman began to fume. She believed in perfection. It was what had brought her so far! A place for everything and everything in its place! and everyone in their place too! She swished off to go find someone to yell at to clean the mess up.
The feline slowed down his pace letting the woman start to walk away. âHope everything is still in theirâŠ.wouldnât want any contracts to go missing.â he said simply turning on his heels to walk the other way. Oh he thought himself a clever cat as he clicked his tongue. âNo contract no way of getting rid of anyoneâŠor thing in some cases that arenât concidered human.â he whistled
The catâs words hit her like a rock in the back of the head. she turned slowly. âWhat did you say?â She walked back to him, a dangerous look in her eyes. âGive them back, Cat.â
Cheshire immediatly stopped walking smiling his almost insane smile at her. âI said words.â he said simply and gave a mock bow at her. Oh he was pushing it wasnât he, always pressing buttons he probably man stood tshouldnât. âSimply stated with how much disarray your room is not everything could be thereâŠ.Your desk was outside the office.â The feline said simply and casually as if he didnât do anything wrong.
The woman stood there for a moment, dumbstruck. then she narowed her eyes. "Well then, if I dont find all of your contracts once that office is clean, you will all be getting the axe! each and every last one of you!"

Reina pasted a saccharine grin on her face. âSweet Cheshur⊠Do you know who did this to my lovely office?â Her words and tone may have been sweet, but there was poison under.
âYour office was lovley?â Cheshire questioned raising a brow before shrugging and taking a sip of tea. He looked as if he were thinking for a moment. âCouldnât say I do⊠I mean who could you irritate so much that they would do such a naughty thing.â Cheshire said with a slight purr to keep him in the fakeness of actually liking this woman. Which was a common thing for him to do.
Her face transformed to a mask of rage. âCut it out you sorry excuse for a ragmop! I know it was one of you⊠you⊠Deviants!â
Cheshire brought his free hand up, that wasnât holding the tea, in defense when she became enraged. âTemper tempter.â he tsked her. Oh how he treaded on thin ice with this queen. He always did tend to follow his own rules and no one elses. âYou really canât tell a cats doing can you after all this time.â He purred at her with his grin too wide for his face
âSkat you mangy creatureâŠâ she stormed away. She knew she couldnt REALLY do anything to any of the members of the band⊠human rights and all that⊠but she had found the most interesting thing in the program contracts⊠She had originaly made the same mistake as the Encom peopel had, and assumed that âTerminateâ meant fire⊠but it didnt⊠the contracts had been software contracts, not personell, so that little detail was meant to alow for getting rid of bad software, but it gave her the perfect opportunity to make an example those wonderland brats would never forgetâŠ
Cheshire kept grinning as he stayed behind for a moment watching her leave before he evaporated and appeared beside her. âNo need for name calling.â he said smiling at the woman. Cheshire had put his hands behind his back walking next to her. âHow can you punish anyone when your room is such a neat mess?â Cheshire questioned bringing up a valid point. How would she do anything to any of them for the things they do if she did not know where things are.
The cats jibe hit home and the woman began to fume. She believed in perfection. It was what had brought her so far! A place for everything and everything in its place! and everyone in their place too! She swished off to go find someone to yell at to clean the mess up.
