what’s the plan for what we want the team to do to make up for the past? an apology, a promise to make things better? what are we looking for so we can trust them again?

Thank you for asking! What we want from the team is an acknowledgement of the issues we encountered during our collaboration, and a promise that the team will do better in the future when working with collaborators. We have received a response and we will be releasing more information in the future. However, it is up to the individual viewer to decide whether or not to “trust” them again, but let it be known: the Fosterdawg team is a business, and we, the Storytime Discourse team, have acknowledged the flaws inherent in a parasocial relationship with a YouTuber. Cancel culture, fandom culture, it all exists because of the relationship we have with the individuals we idolize. So at the end of the day, it is the individual who needs to decide how they view internet influencers.

I saw loads and loads of people posting about and defending Thomas opening up a Patreon, because hes an independent creator who deserves to be paid for his work. We all agree on that.

So why am I seeing people refuse to talk about what happened to the madlibs artists?

It's not drama. It's the same situation, except they're not your "unproblematic fave". So why are people avoiding it like it's "discourse"? It's not discourse. It's independent artists asking to be fairly compensated for their work.

Except it's not even that anymore. All they're asking for is awareness at this point. Awareness so that other small creators don't get scammed for their literal days of nonstop effort and work.

Chances are that the artists involved won't be compensated. But we need to spread this shit like wildfire, same way yall did with the Patreon.

Because every single damn artist deserves to get paid fairly for their work.

To put the pay situation in perspective: For my two days of work I got paid less than working one hour at my retail job.

My job pays around $15 an hour. I was paid $12.45 for my animation.

We are not looking for better treatment/pay for us, we want those that work with Fosterdawg in the future to be treated fairly. The goal is NOT to cancel these creators. Hello! I am one of animators for the storytime madlibs, I left the fandom for a while because of everything that went down lol but I've seen some shit happening in the fandom and I wanna say some things.

-None of us are trying to cancel Thomas.

-We don't want to be paid more after the fact, we knew our pay rates when we signed the contract but theres a certain amount of power that comes with being an influencer and asking for young animators who are new to animation and their pay rates who dont understand what is considered the proper amount they should be paid.

-Please DO NOT talk on any of our behalfs, we dont want anyone talking to Thomas or Quil or anyone involved in this about the situation, if you have please, remove your post.
