As you wake up the next morning, you hear an announcement crackling over the speakers inexplicably placed all around the park.

“Alright, bastards! Rise and shine, it’s the start of a beautiful day! When you lazy pee oh esses get yer asses outta bed, I gots a whole new land for youse guys! Oh, and if you didn’t vote in the last trial... don’t even THINK about eatin’ any of the real food in the kitchen. Dere’s a big ol’pot a slop with your names on it to enjoy! See ya bastards later!”

Sigh. How unceremonious of him. Guess it’s time to move on from that last trial, huh? It’s a brand new day!

Chapter 1.5 | Interlude

The TV screen crackled on. A sharply dressed woman is standing in front of a decrepit looking theme park.

“Good afternoon. It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that after several years of financial struggle, Jubilee’s Amusement Park will be closing it’s door one week from today, 6̸̨̪̟̮͕̹̘̻͙͎̳̻̮̤̍͒͗̾̆ͦ̾͒͆ͭ̏̆̎̀̅͑̕͝/̶̵̨͕͉̮̬͇͙̹ͪͧ̓͆ͥ̒ͤ͂̏͗̿̈̍̐̚͘͢3̷̸̡̮̗͖͍͇͍̠ͮ̇͋̾̾0̸̽͑͊̓ͫ͋͑ͥ́̓̽̅̚҉̨̥̫̮͕͍̺̗̫̬͓̣̙̱͖̹̠͇̭̀/̢̝̰̥͔͔̯͇̘̥̰̰̟̱͍̉́̽ͣ̋ͧ̎͊ͪ̅ͮͦ͗͗̐ͪ͘2̸̛̞̫̥̹̑̌͒͌͐ͨͬ̓͑ͨͮ͡0ͫͮ̃ͮ͋̑̃ͯͫͤ̌҉̡̡̞̗̜̠̟̱͉̤͘̕ͅ3̨̭̠̤̻̱͎̣̱̟̦̊͐̋̂̌̄ͧ̌ͯ͑͆̄ͣͥͦͬ͒́ͅX̷̼̮̜̣̿̓̏̈̉͝. Due to the rampant outbreak of disease, and a World War III seemingly on the horizon, attendance has been at an all time low at what was once the most popular theme park in the world.

“It is seen by many as one of the greatest memories from their childhood, and we will all miss it dearly, including myself. We wish the owners, as well as all of the workers well, and hope they are able to find safety in this troubling time. Back to you at the studio, Ken.”

#chapter one

Journal Guidelines

On everyone’s tablets, you will find that you have a journal! This is to log your character’s private thoughts about the killing game, and will be visible to no one except for them (as well as the specs.) Following their death, however, their journal entries can be made visible, if you would like!

Additionally, as an incentive to write them, for every journal entry you write, you will receive one token. If the entry surpasses 200 words, you will receive two tokens, if it surpasses 300 words, you will receive three tokens, and so on. However, the max amount of tokens you can get from one journal entry is five tokens! To avoid anyone taking advantage of this system, we will only reward one journal entry a day.

Killing Game Rules

Each tablet is loaded with a copy of the Killing Game rules! How convenient! They read as follows...

1. Students may not attempt to escape Jubilee’s Amusement Park at any time.

2. Nighttime lasts from 10pm to 7am. It is not advised to leave your dormitory rooms during nighttime.

3. Students are not allowed to touch, or attempt to harm Jiffy. Any attempts to do so will be punished with death.

3. If a student murders a fellow student, they will become the “blackened.” Once a murder occurs, a class trial will occur shortly after.

4. If the blackened is discovered during the class trial, they will be executed. However, if they manage to fool the class, they will be allowed to escape.

5. If the blackened escapes, the student who received the most votes will be executed in their stead.

6. Jiffy reserves the right to add to or change any of these rules at any point during this killing game.

A Ribbon-Wrapped Beginning! - Chapter 1 Start

With the death of Torahiko on everyone’s mind, it seems to be impossible to push forward... Surely no one would kill after that, right...? As the crowd of students milled around the body, still processing what just happened, a loud buzzing sound pierced the muggy air. BZZT! BZZT! BZZT! BZZT!

If the students looked, they’d find a bridge connecting the hub of the park to the left most island: Ribbon Land! Guess it’s time to explore!

Disembarkment

DING, DING, DING! The loudspeaker turned on again just as the hour passed. “Attention students of Hope’s Peak Academy. We have arrived at Jubilee’s Amusement Park. Please exit the boat in a timely manner, and do not push or shove. Please have your tickets prepared.”

Following the instructions, you and your fellow students awkwardly shuffle off of the boat. The fog has cleared, and you can see Jubilee’s Amusement Park in all of its glory. As you enter through the turnstiles, you notice that there’s nobody else here… not even employees. The brick paths seem cracked and worn down, and the paint on all the benches and stands have faded. Is this really Jubilee’s Amusement Park?

Well... with no one else here, and no way to travel to any of the lands, you might as well explore the park hub a little! Adventure awaits!

#prologue

We’re Going On A Trip!

It’s here, it’s finally here! Though you don’t really remember how you got here, you find yourself sitting inside the small lounge of a boat, en route to the prestigious, award-winning Jubilee’s amusement park! As you look around, you find yourself surrounded by 19 other students of Hope’s Peak Academy, presumably the other winners of the trip lottery. Looking out the windows of the lounge, it’s hard to see beyond the deck, the vast expanse of the ocean completely obscured by fog.

You focus back on the other students and can’t help but feel like you’ve seen them before… You know you’ve never had a class with them, but Hope’s Peak is a huge school, so who knows. Maybe now would be a good time to stretch your legs and introduce yourself to them.

DING, DING, DING! A message starts to play over the loudspeaker. “Attention students of Hope’s Peak Academy. You will arrive at Jubilee’s Amusement Park in approximately one hour,” The speaker was crackly and hard to understand, but you got the gist of the message. Better meet everyone while you still have the chance!

Roleplay Guidelines!

Since there were some questions in the server, here are some basic guidelines as to how roleplay will go for this game! Please read this before prologue starts. <3

1. All investigations should take place in PRIVATE THREADS!!! If you would like to investigate something in a thread, simply bold your words! We encourage you to investigate and solve puzzles, as you’ll find lore for the story!

2. Please add at least one mod to your private threads, so we can answer any investigations and, well... moderate it. If you don’t add a mod to a thread, any developments within it will be considered non-canon.

3. No god-modding, meta-gaming, etc. please! That takes all the fun out!

I think that should be it, but if I think of anything, I’ll add more! :)

Before roster drops...

Hey, guys! As you all know, the official roster will be dropping TOMORROW at 8pm EST, while the hopefuls server will be closing TONIGHT at 8pm EST. Before either of these things happen, we just wanted to give a couple reminders! Thanks you guys for applying and so supportive of us! We never would’ve been able to do it without you guys!

-There were so many amazing characters applied to this game, we really wish we could’ve accepted them all! Please understand that if your character was not accepted, that absolutely does NOT mean they’re bad characters. We can tell you all put so much hard work into these applications, but some were just better fits for the plot that we have in mind. There are plenty of other games out there, and new ones start all the time, so please don’t be discouraged!

-With that being said, rudeness, passive-aggressiveness, and guilt tripping will absolutely not be tolerated. If you come into the server or a mod’s DM’s acting salty and rude, you will be blocked and banned from the server, without hesitation. We understand it’s disappointing, but it’s just a game, there’s no reason to get so upset about it.

-If you do have any legitimate, specific questions regarding your application, please send Mod Froggy or Mod Ruby a DM no sooner than 8pm EST on 2/9 (24 hours after roster drop.) Any questions asked before then will be ignored.

-If you are accepted into the game, simply IM the blog or DM Mod Froggy or Mod Ruby on Discord for a link to the server!

-If you would like to spectate, feel free to DM Mod Froggy or Mod Ruby following roster drop, but please be aware that the server link for spectators will not be given out until the next day to allow the players to get to know one another. Blacklisted players will not be allowed in the server.
