Hi omg I saw your bsd Dirty Rotten Scoundrels au and I love the artwork!! Dirty rotten scoundrels is one of my favorite moviessss!!!! Who in the bsd cast do you think would be each character in this au???

Ahhh I'm so glad you like them!! I love genderbends so drawing them all has been so much fun, and I do hope to draw more for them soon but I'm really focused on OCs currently.

I have like, 10 planning pages in a document ready for me to keep writing the au. I have Dazai as Michael Caine's gentlemanly character and Chuuya as Steve Martin's moving into the Riviera area mainly so I can write their banter back and forth. I decided Oda would be the best fit then for Glenn Headley's Janet, but with her own little twist that ties more into bsd canon (how Oda wants to write). And then since I was having so much fun with the possible dynamics, Ango is Dazai's helper/bodyguard that hangs around and sometimes takes profit from heists, but also has spoiler-y reasons for being there so I don't want to divulge too much about her.

I still wanted to figure out if I could include other characters, but for now it's just them four. Let me know if you have any ideas for others! I'd be glad to credit you, especially if I ever post it on AO3!

Actually, technically, I read Story Thieves first, idk if you've heard of those but they were my favorite book series of all time as a child because Bethany could go into books like her life sounded so cool to me and I realized he wrote other books so I read Half Upon A Time and I loved them SO MUCH the plot twists were so good and I remember reading the Story Thieves/Half Upon A Time Crossover short story he wrote and it permanently altered my brain chemistry

Like forget the MCU, we were crossing over book characters here and that blew my mind

Anyways, I own all three books and while it's been years since I've read them they're like... Core literature for me, like there's the classics of the 2000s like Divergent and Hunger Games and Maze Runner but Half Upon A Time has been put on a pedestal of "Childhood books I was totally normal about" in my brain lol

imagine you start watching this new show and it’s a silly little show about space set in the future then they announce the next season so you wait excitedly for five months and finally it’s here… you all sit round the tv and suddenly one of the main characters who is known for being unemotional starts going mad because of “biology…” and you slowly realise that he needs to have sex or he’s going to die so the other main character risks his entire career to help him out then they start ‘wrestling’ on the sand and the one going through the mating fever ends up killing the other guy which ends the fever but now he’s depressed because he just killed his best friend but wait he’s not actually dead the unemotional one is overjoyed everything’s fine and then they go back to work like nothing happened… you look at everyone else sitting in stunned silence thinking “did any one else think that was a little… yknow” then you accidentally start modern fandom and shipping culture

He reconnects with Bokuto in college, and he seems to be the only person with the ability to calm Akaashi down. He finds himself relying on his old captain more and more, especially when Bokuto deems himself Akaashi’s own personal guardian. Despite their connection, he can’t touch Bokuto, either; no matter how badly he’d like to.
