i started writing my version of this silly little man way back when we only had one episode with him, so while i adapt and adjust my portrayal of fiteen as the episodes air he will not be 100% true to canon and i will weave in some of my pre-established personal headcanons !

this blog will most likely contain themes that could potentially be triggering to some people, i.e. loss, death, grief, trauma etc. however, i will tag all of them accordingly ( tw trigger) - equally, this blog will contain SPOILERS xx

i’m quite selective with who i write, which is why i prefer to write with mutuals only

this blog will probably be low activity -i'm a full time uni-student and writing is so much fun but it won't always be my top priority

( however, if you’ve been waiting ages for a reply, don’t hesitate to message me! i probably just forgot. )

⋆.*ೃ✧ ━━ nose scrunches up ... and a huff of a laugh leaves her lips , letting herself reluctantly pull away from the doctor. hands run over buttons , feet taking her around the other side of the console. if she stayed near him , she would probably be suddenly too forward. general flirting was pretty much a given between the two. it was almost natural at this point. poor ruby. ❛ i'm always happy. ❜ ellie rebutted. her smile never wavering.

EYES  follow  her  as  she  pracitcally  floats  along   the  console  and  he  can't  recall  anyone  ever  seeming  like  such  a  natural  around  the  tardis,  except  maybe  river.  and  god  knows  how  long  it's  been  since  she's  walked  these  corridors.  the  sudden  twinge  of  melancholia  is  quickly  repressed,  blinked  away,  he  forces  his  gaze  from  her,  pretends  to  be  engrossed  in  something  happening  on  the  monitor. 

"  hm  ...  i  do  wonder  why  that  is  ...  "  and  he  can't  help  it,  he  throws  a  glance  her  way  that's  more  than  suggestive,  a  smirk  playing  at  his  lips, as  he  flicks  another  switch.  maybe  this  new  face  is  more  ...  open  than  the  previous  ones.  maybe  it's  just  something  about  ellie  that  has  him  giddy  with  excitement  everytime  she  enters  the  console  room,  that  makes  it  incredibly  hard  to  abstain  from  the  odd  flirtation.  "  long  as  you're  happy  i'm  happy,  ells.  "

⋆.*ೃ✧ ━━ a lazy smile crosses her lips ... as she watches the doctor back up into her bathroom. they had seen each other in multiple states of undress countless times. it was seriously like living with a roommate. an alien roommate. who had a time machine and if they felt like it - could spend countless weekends in a row , clubbing. ellie , barely twenty seven , felt more like a old lady whenever her hang over appears the next morning. the brunette usually makes the doctor take her to a mcdonalds ( or the space equivalent ) for the most greasiest breakfast. it always settled her stomach. she's jealous of the doctor's ridiculous alien biology , the time lord BARELY gets drunk or hung over. which is both a blessing and a curse. but this time however , those zogian drinks were a killer. it felt like her chest was on fire , along with her head. there's a snort that follows , watching him backing up to the tub , his arm reached out behind him - holding a glass filled with the most greenest liquid she had ever seen. the smell hit her nose suddenly and she had to physically stop herself from gagging. ugh , she'd rather deal with the raw egg and tobasco sauce concoction. soap bubbles that coated her body slid down her chest as she shifted , moving to sit up on her knees , as the doctor came to a stop near the tub. she was careful not to get him wet. ❛ that looks fucking awful , no offense. ❜ she whines , taking the glass from him. ❛ you also wouldn't dare , i'll get her to - hide all of your clothes. ❜ a terrible retort really , but the headache was making it hard to concentrate. blue eyes gave a weak glare to the back of his head. looking down at the drink once more , her tongue poked out , nose scrunched up , fingers played with the little umbrella. ❛ do i have too ? ❜ she questioned , willing him to turn around. the stabbing in her temples was telling her to just do it , so that she could have a clear head and go back to sleep. ❛ cause this looks like it'll make it worse. ❜

"  ALL  of  my  clothes  ?  that  seems  a  bit  excessive,  now  "  and  muttered  under  his  breath  he  added  (  more  to  himself  )  "  no  doubt  she'd  do  as  you  say,  though  ...  "  it  was  a  well-known  fact  that  the  tardis  had  taken  a  strange  interest  in  ellie.  in  the  past  his  ship  would  usually  stay  out  of  any  companion-related  meddling,  had  even  been  known  to  play  the  odd  prank  (  poor  clara,  wandering  through  the  hallways  all  night  in  search  of  her  bedroom  which  had  seemed  to  vanish  into  thin  air  ....  )  this  time  around  the  tardis  seems  to  cast  his  companion  in  a  favorable  light  -  sometimes  he  even  went  as  far  as  suspecting  his  ship  might  like  ellie  better,  actually.

deciding  he's  tested  out  the  waters  enough  -  surely,  if  she  wanted  her  privacy  she'd  have  told  him  to  bugger  off  already  -  he  took  a  couple  steps  forward  before  turning  around  to  face  her,  hands  taken  off  his  eyes  and  plopped  on  the  counter  behind  him.  using  the  momentum  of  spinning  around,  he  hopped  up  onto  the  sink,  then  crossed  his  arms  over  his  chest.  "  i  promise  it'll  make  you  feel  all  better.  "  and  he  attempted  his  most  convincing  and  reassuring  smile  (  which  wasn't  very  convincing  nor  reassuring  at  all  -  that  drink  was  vile  )  "  though,  if  you  prefer  an  earth  remedy,  i  can  always  crack  a  raw  egg  into  a  glass  of  orange  juice for you  "  it  takes  enormous  strength  not  to  gag  at  the  thought,  the  doctor  gave  as  nonchalant  a  shrug  as  he  could  manage  "  your  choice,  "

HE  knows  what  he's  doing,  of  course  he  does,  and  he's  not  above  a  little  charm  and  flattery  here  and  there  to  get  him  what  he  wants.  his  goal  in  question  ?  that  smile.  it's  like  there's  electricity radiating  off  of  her,  he  can't  bring  himself  to  find  everything  she  does  anything  less  than  utterly  endearing.  "  sure  it  is  !  "  he  gives  a  grin  that  might  be  just  as  jovial  and  wide,  then  adds:  "  'cept  if  you're  anywhere  close  to  the  sundering  suns  of  betelgeuse  seven,  of  course.  then  that's  a  very,  very,  very  bad  thing.  "  he  cuts  his  rambling  off  because  another  wave  of  ...  something,  some  warm  feeling  hits  him,  takes  hold  of  his  hearts.  and  he  gives  a  shrug.

HIS  eyes  are  squeezed  shut,  yet  he's  got  one  hand  tightly  clasped  over  them  -  additional  support  for  his  demonstration  of  '  hey,  i'm  not  a  creep  spying  on  you  while  you're  in  the  bath,  i  pinky-promise  '  -  as  he  feels  his  way  around  the  doorframe  into  the  general  vicinity  of  the  tardis  bathroom.  upon  entering,  he  makes  sure  his  back  is  turned  to  where  ellie  must  still  be  sat  in  the  tub.  (  it's  not  like  they've  never  had  a  chat  while  getting  ready  for  a  night  out,  clothes  only  half-put-on,  one  of  them  still  in  a  towel  -  he  just  reckons  with  the  wicked  hangover  she's  sure  to  have,  he  might  at  least  make  an  effort  to  respect  her  personal  space.  and  to  not  rub  it  in  her  face  that  he  was  absolutely  fine  and  could've  easily gone  on  another  four  hours  last  night.  ) 

"  hey,  i  warned  you  about  zogian  drinks  -  they're  about  twice  as  strong  as  whatever  hooch  you're  used  to  on  earth.  "  and  even  there,  'used  to'  was  a  bit  of  an  overstatement.  the  only  person  he  knew  more  inadequate  at  handling  their  liquor  was  ...  a  vogon  named  jeltz.  and  then  again,  their  species  was  renowned  for  their  'thimble  guts'.  (  and  the  complete  absence  of  fun  in  their  lives  -  not  exactly  the  best  drinking  partners  )  "  i  got  you  something  "  the  something  in  question  is  an  utterly  foul-smelling  green-ish  drink,  garnished  with  a  little  cocktail  umbrella  and  a  singular  slice  of  cucumber.  slowly,  he  backs  up,  holding  the  glass  in  where  he  generally  suspects  ellie  to  be.  "  best  hangover  cure  known  to  man.  or  -  woman.  or  ...  alien  ?  anyone,  i  reckon.  got  the  recipe  from  no  other  than  zaphod  beeblebrox  himself,  can  you  believe  ?  -  back  when  he  was  president  of  the  galaxy,  of  course.  nice  fella.  surprisingly  handsome,  both  of  his  heads,  and  -  "  the  doctor  stops,  a  little  unsure  "  ....  i  feel  like  you  should  be  right  behind  me  now.  so  help  me  rassilon,  ells,  if  you  make  me  back  up  until  i  fall  into  the  tub  i  will  make  the  tardis  replace  all  the  jukebox  songs with  recordings  of  vogonian  poetry  readings,  don't  test  me.  "

an adrenaline filled kiss shared after committing a crime ( @whatspoilers )

"  bloody  hell,  rivs.  i  -"  could  kiss  you  ?  well,  he  just  might  !  his  hearts  pumping  blood  through  his  body  at  an  alarming  speed,  adrenaline  coursing  through  his  veins.  it  was  running  and  danger  and  escaping-just-in-the-knick-of-time  and  now  it's  just  them.  just  him  and  river  and  their  hurried  breaths  and  the  faint  whirr  of  the  tardis  and  he  can't  help  but  grin  -  that  excess  energy's  got  to  go  somewhere  -  as  he  takes  her  face  in  his  hands  and  presses  their  lips  together. 

this  regeneration  -  it's  not  one  to  shy  away  from  physical  affection.  on  the  contrary,  these  lips  have  had  their  fair  share  of  kisses,  alright.  but  with  river,  it's  just  ...  it's  different.  it's  always  different. 

pulling  away,  he's  still  out  of  breath.  "  for  the  record  -  this  doesn't  mean  i  agree  with  anythin'  we  just  did.  "  safe  to  say  his  sense  of  morality  and  justice  is  still  intact.  safe  to  say  her  being  a  bit  of  a  criminal,  however,  has  always  intrigued  him.  safe  to  say  -  if  she  calls,  he  comes,  and  he'll  do  it  all  over  again.

                   ❛            normally i'd flirt with whatever stranger buys me drinks in clubs , but .. i'm pretty sure we've met before.            ❜                    my smile was all dimples , all pretty , gleaming teeth as i settled myself back on the edge of the bar , hazy from the liquor that had bathed my tongue , squinting through my lashes quizzically at the figure across from me. i was old enough to recognize the doctor , no matter the regeneration ; i'd come across several at this point. plus , the big blue box outside was a dead giveaway. leaning forward pointedly , raising my voice over the din of the music , i chided at him playfully.                    ❛            mm .. how you doin' , doc ? didn't think this was really your scene ; guess you're still full of surprises.            ❜                    tongue to my cheek , i grinned at him , snatching my drink back from the bar to toss back the contents , relishing in the hazy warmth it created in my marrow.

HE  used  to  think  it  tedious,  this  time  around  it's  extraordinarily  fun,  getting  to  figure  out  who  he  is  after  regneration.  it's  a  lottery  -  not  only  concerning  his  physical  attributes,  no,  most  of  the  time  a  new  face  will  bring  with  it  a  change  of  character,  too.  to  a  certain  degree,  of  course.  nothing  too  pivotal.  who's  he  gonna  be  now  ?  now  that  he  has  embraced  the  pain  of  the  past,  thus  allowing  himself  to  move  forward  freely,  able  to  set  down  that  backpack  of  burden  in  the  first  few  hours  of  regeneration.  who's  this  new  doctor  ? 

apparently,  someone  who'll  be  at  the  club  !  oh,  he  loves  the  club,  he  does  !  he  can't  believe  he's  been  missing  out  on  this  all  this  time.  spinning  around  in  his  kilt  in  the  middle  of  the  dancefloor,  arms  clearing  the  space  around  him,  he  moves  in  time  to  the  beat  of  an  alien  tune  that  reminds  him  faintly  of  anne  clark.

 -  exhilerated,  exuberant,  utterly  content.  that's  when  he  spots  a  face  he'd  recognise  in  any  crowd,  instantly.  a  disbelieving  scoff,  corners  of  his  lips  twist  into  a  grin,  he  makes  his  way  over  to  the  bar  not  a  moment  later.  faces  before  him,  they  might've  all  kept  jack  harkness  at  arm's  length.  but  those  'unapproachable  unpredictable  enigma  that  is  the  doctor'  times,  those  were  over.  a  quick  sign  to  the  barkeep,  "  i'll  have  whatever  the  gentleman's  having  "  ,  he  pushes  some  credits  across  the  counter  (  '  keep  'em  coming  '  )  and  settles  on  the  stool  next  to  jack.  "  well,  i  reckoned  you  were  gonna  flirt  with  me,  anyhow  "  tongue  in  teeth  smile,  he  raises  his  glass  in  cheers,  does  his  best  to  surpress  his  natural  reaction  to  jack's  choice  of  liquor  (  there  might  be  some  tears  in  his  eyes,  luckily  the  venue's  dark  enough  to  hide  that,  right  ?  )  "  can't  complain,  captain.  can't  complain.  "  and  he  really,  really  can't  for  once,  and  isn't  that  just  great  ?  "  not  yet,  at  least.  new  face,  so  who  knows  what's  to  come.  "  a  shrug,  another  tentative  sip.  "  how  'bout  you,  huh  ?  anything  new  with  you  ?  "

" And DON'T put words in my mouth ! I didn't say EARTH was whimsiless — just THIS PLACE. I'm practically the REASON Earth has all that whimsy OKAY ? The Colosseum and Amusement Parks ? ME. I'm just wondering what the POINT of being HERE is — and I'll FOLLOW YOU as much as I WANT and there's nothing you can do about so HA. HE  whips  around,  disbelieving  frown  has  his  eyebrows  both  drawn  together  but  also  seemingly  pulled  up  to  high  heavens  "  excuse  me  ?  as  if  waitrose  isn't  the  most  whimsical  of  supermarket  chains  in  the  greater  u.k.  area  ?  "  now,  this  might  be  a  tad  embarrassing  (  you  know,  if  he  was  anyone  but  this  extremely  cool  and  suave  alien  who  travels  through  time  and  space  )  but  he  really  really  enjoys  going  grocery  shopping  on  earth.  there's  just  something  about  it  !  all  the  variety  of  products,  the  act  of  pushing  the  little  cart  around,  asking  for  recommendations  for  something  mundane  as  yoghurt  (  although  to  him  it  is  anything  but  mundane  -  oh,  he  just  loves  humans,  he  does  !  )  plus,  doing  a  big  shop  every  now  and  then  ensures  the  tardis  fridge  is  always  stocked  with  some  bits  and  pieces.  nibbles.  for  ruby,  or  for  him  -  lately  he's  really  been  appreciating  a  midnight  chocolate  date  !  "  just  look  around  -  i  mean,  the  colours  !  the  ...  spectacle  !  "  something  in  his  eyes  lights  up,  he  pushes  his  little  trolley  round  the  corner.  "  i  mean,  look  -  you  can  drink  coffee  while  you're  doin'  your  shopping  !  and  they  even  have  an  artisan  bakery  next  to  the  coffee  station  !  "  now,  he  could  go  into  the  detail  why  the  vibe  was  better  in  waitrose  than  a  sainsbury's  (  too  much  staff  at  the  self  checkout,  makes  him  so  nervous  he  accidentally  scans  a  net  of  oranges  as  a  pound  of  flour  )  or  an  m&s  (  too  posh  -  too  much  going  on  ),  or  why  the  vibes  at  a  tesco  express  are  still  a  bit  more  fun,  but  he  refrains.  rolls  his  eyes  instead.  "  oh,  you  mean  the  colosseum  that  was  used  as  an  arena  to  watch  people  fight  to  the  death  ?  or  the  amusement  parks  where,  if  there's  one  bolt  out  of  place,  you're  riding  into  your  demise  ?  last  time  i  checked,  the  dictionary  didn't  define  '  whimsy  '  as  '  lethal  '.  "  the  doctor  throws  him  a  look,  proceeds  to  push  his  cart  further  along  the  aisles.  maybe  if  he  stalls  long  enough,  he  can  get  his  shopping  all  done  before  they  break  out  into  a  full-blown  argument.  "  the  point  of  being  here  is  that  i  need  goods  and  services  that  this  establishment  provides  "  a  sickeningly  sweet  and  fake  smile,  he  grabs  four  jars  of  strawberry  jam.  "  the  point  of  you  being  here,  however,  is  non-existant  .  according  to  reason,  you  shouldn't  be  anywhere,  ever  again.  but  oh,  who  am  i  to  question  the  basic  laws  of  the  universe,  huh  ?  "

sorry, i didn’t hear what you said, i was thinking about how similar nine and fifteen are. no, i do care, it’s just that they have very similar mannerisms and they have an unparalleled level of excitement, curiosity and whimsy. listen, fifteen is the closest to nine we have ever seen, but he’s got a level of freedom and joy nine could never reach because of his grief. you don’t understand—

IT'S  an  awfully  slow  turn  of  his  head  to  the  side,  eyes  first  and  slightly  narrowed  (  side-eye  or  something,  ain't  that  what  the  kids  call  it  these  days  ?  )  tongue  pressed  to  the  roof  of  his  mouth,  he  gives  the  other  a  look  -  one  mostly  unidentifiable.  one  that  may  read  '  i'm  not  angry,  just  disappointed  ',  he's  not  quite  sure.  but  there's  something  brewing  inside  him,  threatening  to  bubble  to  the  surface,  but  he  manages  to  keep  it  down,  a  few  deep  steadying  breaths.  "  WHAT.  is  your  problem  ?  "  brows  pulled  up  high,  oh,  he's  fed  up  "  if  earth  isn't  '  whimsy  '  enough  for  you  -  whatever  the  hell  that  means  -  then  go  somewhere  else  ?  i  happen  to  find  it  unbelievably  whimsy  -  like,  off  the  charts.  like  WOW.  "  he  honest  to  god  harrumphs,  considers  leaving  but  turns  around  at  the  last  moment  :  "  and  quit  followin'  me  !  "

"  ME  neither,  rubes  !  me  neither  "  hands  clasped  over  his  diaphragm,  he  tries  to  take  a  couple  deep,  calming  breaths,  though  they  keep  being  interrupted  by  stray,  laggard  laughs.  one  he's  got  those  out  there's  still  a  beaming  smile  that  remains,  muscles  in  his  cheek  already  sore  (  but  it's  a  good  kind  of  ache,  one  that  reminds  him  that  he's  ALIVE  in  the  best  way  possible,  and  so  he'll  gladly  push  through  it  )  he  decides  to  remain  in  his  position  -  on  his  back  on  the  grid  floor  of  the  console  room  -  until  he's  managed  to  regain  his  breath.  kicking  his  feet  like  a  bug  stuck  on  its  back,  he  uses  the  momentum  to  hoist  himself  back  up.   a  groan,  accompanied  by  a  little  grin,  hand  hovers  over  his  stomach  :  "  i  think  i've  got  sore  muscles  where  i  didn't  even  know  there  were  muscles  !  "

"if i let you in, do timelines explode and you like ... explode, or something?" it's mostly a joke because she's already stepped aside and is holding the front door open. "doesn't matter, he's not here, so you can't explode timelines in my kitchen or anything." she looks him up and down, head tilted to the side, concern written across her face. "are you in trouble?"

A  frown,  he  actually  considers  the  possiblity  for  a  second  -  then  decides  that,  either  way,  it's  worth  the  risk,  gladly  stepping  in.  "  well,  if  it  makes  you  feel  better  i  could  pop  'round  to  the  garage  or  something  -  you  know,  so  it's  not  as  much  of  a  mess  to  clean  up  if  timelines  do  explode  "  tongue  in  teeth  smile,  as  much  as  he'd  like  to  mess  with  her,  he  can't  stay  serious,  not  when  the  sight  of  her  is  a  sheer  delight.  "  oh,  no  !  no,  no,  don't  worry,  not  in  trouble.  everything  a-okay.  ",  he  reassures  her  with  a  nod  -  then  brows  knit  together,  mouth  falls  open,  a  slightly  offended  scoff  (  all  in  jest,  obviously  ).  "  why,  do  i  have  to  have  mucked  something  up  to  come  and  visit  ?  one  doctor  around  enough  to  fill  your  quota  ?  "  he  couldn't  even  be  mad  at  that,  frown  gives  way  for  a  musing  look,  a  shrug.  "  honestly,  that'd  be  fair  enough.  we  sure  are  a  handful.  "

"  IT  is,  isn't  it  ?  "  with  a  beaming  grin  he  adjusts  the  collar  of  his  new  coat,  smooths  a  crease  in  his  shirt,  then  gives  the  captain  a  little  spin.  it's  obvious  that  he's  awfully  pleased  with  the  post-generation  outfit  he's  picked  out  this  time  around  (  as  well  as  the  myriad  of  other  little  outfits  that  are  laid  out  ready  to  wear  in  the  tardis  wardrobe  -  this  time  around  he  won't  be  simply  wearing  the  same  thing  over  and  over  again  !  )  "  seventies  revival,  baby  !  "  and  he  does  a  little  disco  point  in  each  direction  to  accentuate  his  point.  then,  excited  laugh  sobering  a  little,  he  leans  in,  gives  him  a  wink  :  "  and  -   compliment  definitely  detected  and  appreciated,  captain.  "
