this is mephone JK, my oc! in universe, he was created to be as cheap and replaceable as humanly possbile with an intentionally short lifespan, and is fully aware of this. because of this, hes prone to malfunction and doesnt really see himself as much beyond his Use. he doesnt really wanna get attatched to the idea of life, bc he knows his time is limited.
eventually he stops putting up w cobs' treatment and runs away-cobs doesnt really gaf and just lets him go. jk spends a while couchsurfing before finding his own place, and kinda just...holes up in his house for a very long time, until he finds out about cobs' death, and the end of meeple, and it motivates him to try and track down anyone remaining, in a desperate attempt to find community. the only lead he has is mp4, and he manages to get as far as inanimate island, when he sees cobs' body and meets test tube while shes on an unsuspicious walk in the middle of the night.
jk and test tube end up working together in an attempt to bring back mepad, with jk staying in the secret room and just. literally never leaving. the two actually get really close as friends over the course of a few months, and jk quickly sets his mind on the idea that the best option for both of them is if test tube kills him to reuse parts to bring back mepad. he actually gives up on the idea of just like actually living and being happy so fucking fast its crazy.
he loves test tube dearly and he doesnt even Want to die anymore, it just feels to him like thats the best option for everyone-his Use. the two argue for a while about this, test tube struggling to seperate the idea of jk as her friend vs jk as a vessel for a "greater good", but eventually, jk forces her hand-Literally. he takes her hand and forces her to kill him.
test tube never brings herself to actually USE the parts, but she also cant bring herself to just. bring him back, so he quite literally just collects dust lol. she told NO ONE about his presence, and no one but test tube had even seen him, the other phones didnt even know he had ever existed in the first place, so test tube is UTTERLY alone in her grief. hooray!
