Dynasty 5x03: So the Gaslighting Begins.

So, in episode 5x03, we open up with Falliam being awkward to one another about a week after the last episode, making this roughly take place just after the New Year, because of the coma. She wants to get back to work, because that is her life at the moment since Liam doesn’t want to have a family with her. That hasn’t changed.

So her board wants to pull a Papa John’s on her—steal the company out from under her—so she logical tries to fight for her business. It’s one-half of her life goal, the other half being wanting to have children to pass that dynasty onto.

However, her plan to accomplish that is sabotaged by the writers in the use of Dominique suggested in her story about Colby being so caught up in his goals in business, it’s kind of ruined him for the moment, and the same will happen with Fallon in being too focused on her business and she couldn’t step back and see what’s really important in life. So, through her, the writers want to gaslight the audience into believing it is Fallon that can’t see there is more to life than business. That is the exact opposite of what Fallon has been as a character. She wants the business and the family, but since Liam will not give her children, that’s the other part of her life that brings her meaning and purpose. However, they have her do another 180 with her character and accept that she needs to give it up for a while to go ‘find herself’, which is really for her just to waste time she doesn’t have—her biological clock is ticking while Liam has all the time in the world to have children with someone else if he wished—and that is supposed to be empowering women for Women’s Month?

The writers have now done another disservice to the character. They took her business, which is her baby and she openly said the business was metaphoric her baby, and Liam still won’t give her a baby to be a mother. Now, how will she be any different than her dream-self Anders showed her in being a listless heiress—which the lesson she learned was that wasn’t the person she wanted to be?

In Defense of Fallon Carrington

Well, the ending to Episode 4x17 was an interesting turn of events and I’ve seen a bit of the back and forth as to who is to blame for the deteriorating Falliam. So, I thought I’d put my two cents into the conversation in a long form opinion. I will give the writers credit in a slow burn with the conflict between Liam and Fallon, but it is an unnecessary and wholly invented one that ignores the characters they’ve established. I believe the best approach would be addressing Liam’s points at the ending of the episode one by one, since they make up the parts of his overall conflict with her about putting everything before him. “Something is always coming up” as he puts it, even though that is exactly what is happening. He believes she’s putting these points before him and they’re not justified. 1. She’s too busy focusing on her business than their marriage at this time. Liam knew from day one that she had one overall goal in her life once it was clear Blake was never going to see her as a proper heir: create her own dynasty that she would pass onto her children. He openly said he admired her for that back in Season 2. He’s already denied her children. Yes, he placated her at the moment of it being something they would discuss again in the future, but at the moment, it is a hard no for him. He acknowledged back in the ‘Drops of Jupiter’ episode as I like to call it, that when she was going to take her business public, she was extremely busy for a short amount of time, the same time he would be too writing his next book. This is a plot point for the episode for their characters and not something to just throw away. He expected that this was going to happen, but for some inexplicable reason he started complaining about her being busy during the busy season, similar to complaining a florist would be busy the day before Valentine’s Day. He acts as if evenings and weekends do not exist and that other couples have to spend their time. 2. He’s mad that she put fighting off a hostile takeover of her company than spending time with him. The initial busy time was finally over and they would get back to their normal routine of balance, but then Collin returns. Liam’s apparent position in Ep 4x17 is that her going on a lunch date with him is more important than her keeping control of her own company. If we’re supposed to take him at his word that he thinks it’s more important to give him attention during that time than save her business, she’s right that he doesn’t want her to have a career. He should be there supporting her just as he did back when Collin first showed up. A side note, where was he to stand up and protect his wife from the guy that is only doing this out of petty revenge for something that happened in high school? He’s supposedly an investigative reporter, so there would be a lot of things he could do to pressure him to stop. 3. Investigating and potentially getting rid of Fallon’s new sister. Liam might have a point here that she could just being petty and not put this new ‘mission’ in front of him... if it wasn’t for the fact previous mysterious sibling that showed up nearly murdered him. I think that would be a great and justified concern for Fallon to ascertain if she is a true threat. So, at the end of it, I think think his points are wholly irrational and Fallon may have a point that he doesn’t want her to have a career. He’s denied her children and now he wants her to feel guilty for having a career...

He’s actually one year older than widely reported. Yes, when she was 17, they met on set and she admits in an interview that she planned on dating him immediately after they met. Remember, he’s in his mid-30s at that point. The earliest pics of them together as a couple is her just after her 19th birthday, where she moved in with him two weeks after they started dating. They had a three month break up years ago, when she went full blonde at that time in response. She lied on Jimmy Kimmel about that was the time her parents first met her boyfriend and left them with him as she went to film the pilot for SDRR, but in reality, she had moved out of his place and broke up with him.

Growing up means coming to realize that Seddie and Creddie were actually both awful, toxic, abusive ships and that Freddie deserved better than either one of those.

That’s why he got with Tori Vega in Victorious after both shows ended and to hell with that revival nonsense they’re writing for him.

Update on iCarly Revival

So, from what we learned a few days ago, Freddie didn’t get with Carly or Sam. He got with another woman and has a stepdaughter... so, they beta-maled Freddie harder than Dan could ever write to the point he’s now having to raise another man’s child. This is not realistic at all for Freddie. If he didn’t get with Carly or Sam, he had far better options than hooking up with a single mother. Heck, he could have gotten with Tori from Victorious or Shelby or heck, found himself a nice eighteen year old to wife up. If you think I’m joking with the last part, look at Backhouse Mike--the writer for Drake and Josh, iCarly and Victorious music--at 36 getting with 18/19 year old Liz Gillies from Victorious. They got married late last year. The idea that they are going to tease us with the possibility of Creddie is just that, a tease. He’s already married and if she’s suddenly out of the picture, it makes it worst that now he’s raising another couple’s child and he would just be settling for Carly after all this time. With these creative decisions made, this was clearly made for some mythical audience and not iCarly fans, whether they were general, Creddie or Seddie. Frankly, I’m glad Jennette decided she didn’t want any part of this dumpster fire.

I never got why Carly never liked Freddie… Like okay, the friend excuse is there, but he was literally not unattractive!! He was a geek yeah, but he was also really sweet!! Either Carly had terrible taste in men or I’m just really protective of this character… Anyway, i’ll forgive Carly though since she was only 15. I better get a grown up conversation on this in the reboot.

Like a simple mention that she’s out there somewhere living her best gay life cause that’s what she deserves

It’s actually set in the Season 2 finale where Fallon finds out what is going to happen to Liam and has to find a way to stop Adam and her father.
