“I see the catphobia hasn’t changed, even if it’s a New Year.”
“How lazy am I? Well, from now on, I’m only going where the roomba takes me.”
oneneetblackcat:
Instead of answering immediately, Kuro walked over to the pile of food he kept in front of the TV for when he was in one of his Shut-in moods. “I only ever keep quick foods near me, since as a Shut in, I can’t spend too much energy or time away from the TV. Ramen is easily made with water and a microwave, and chips are premade, all you have to do is open the bag. Do you want to try shifting to into my other form?”
“How do you do that?” Sissel asks, confused. Using his ghost powers was one thing, but changing to a human form was another. It would be funny to actually be in a human’s body for once.
“For starters, make sure you’re not in any sunlight.” Thankfully, Sora tended to keep the drapes closed for him, unless it was suggested otherwise. “I’m so used to it I just do it automatically.” Which was a bit of a hindrance, since he had no idea how to tell him how to shift into human form.
“....What a pain. I guess just... try picturing that human form you saw me as?”
oneneetblackcat:
“Feel free to eat as much as you want. I usually eat ramen or chips, but ice cream is good too. It won’t kill you. Just stay out of the sunlight for extended periods of time. And don’t worry about needing to drink blood. It’s too much of a hassle, so I just don’t bother with it unless Mahiru needs me to.”
“I don’t know what kind of food these are, but I really liked fish. Yomiel used to give me lots of sardines and tuna. I miss being able to eat it.”
Sissel nods at the advice. It’s weird not going out during daytime though, but that didn’t seem to be much of a problem.

Kuro raised an eyebrow as best he could with a cat’s face. They must have already spent too long together for Hyde to have picked up Licht’s grumpy mood. The laugh is more like his brother, along with his wink that draws an icked out face from the cat. He felt bad for Hyde’s Eve sometimes.
“…How does the sun feel? On human skin?” He shrugged about the question directed at himself. “Not too different. The cat I know isn’t exactly a normal cat. Not a mo- a vampire, but not a living cat either.” He hadn’t been able to bring himself to pilfer through the memories of his friend to find things out. It wasn’t important.
They are still generally attached at the hip. The contract didn’t erase itself when they flipped bodies, unfortunately. So he didn’t even need to be in there that long for things to rub off. The expression gets a laugh too. Poor anyone who has to put up with this guy for long, really.
That was a bit of a mistake, asking what the sun feels like, because he has the most horrible cliche immediately at the ready for an answer. “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st: So long as men can breathe or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.”
He tilts his head curiously. “What does that mean? You seem pretty alive to me.”
“What a pain...” Why did he ask?? He knew his brother would probably give him some weird theater quote instead of being honest. “Isn’t that a romance poem or something anyway?” Not that he ever understood Hyde’s obsession with answering with quotes than actual answers.
“I don’t entirely understand it either. He’s not a vampire, but he’s not alive either. A ghost? Maybe? Ghost cats. So troublesome.”
@oneneetblackcat 💀somewhat planned starter 💀
Nico hadn’t really taken a liking to this strange island, but then again who fully did? Even though he would fully admit that it was nice to take a break away from the gods, and their so called merciful good deeds. In short staying locked up in his assigned living space was a commonality for the son of hades. He was pretty much a shut in at this point which in all respect was nice until the walls felt like they were closing in. So a much needed fast food run was what pushed him up on his feet and out into the cold. He guessed he could handle some social interaction today but he wouldn’t really be seeking it out. His social battery could in reality only take so much.
And much to his surprise it would be used up on a small black cat. At least he thought it was a cat. They sounded and appeared very feline like so they must at least fall into the category. Crouching down to be within some close proximity with the whining creature, he dug into his McD*nalds to-go bag. He was hesitant with his movements considering his recent history with animals in general. Yet the cat didn’t seem to be running off anytime soon, so he proceeded with his plan. Pulling out some fries he held them out towards the cat, a silent generous action.
❝ they’re supposedly fresh…im not to sure if that makes much of a difference or peaks your interest. ❞
Although Kuro claimed to dislike the cold, he had dragged himself outside for some food. Since he hadn’t applied for a new job, he spent most of his time begging for scraps or just stealing. Today, it looked like his whining had successfully gotten the attention of some kid who didn’t smell completely human. Nothing new, since a lot of the island captives weren’t 100% human.
Good old McD*nalds. He sniffs them, just to be sure that they’re warm and fresh, then grabs them with his teeth. He won’t reveal himself yet as not being a real cat, so he doesn’t offer a “thank you” out loud. Instead, he purrs and rolls over, exposing his stomach. Maybe if he’s cute enough, the kid will give him more food?
“Nyaaaaaaaaa.”
oneneetblackcat:
“Not much different then. I was already dead when I became a vampire, so…” He lets his sentence trail off, preferring not to speak of his past. “Granted I didn’t feel as numb but at I’d prefer that, so this is a welcomed surprise.”
His sin did allow him some numbness, but it wasn’t the same. “Yeah. I’m sloth. Be careful of sore muscles.”
“Ah, I see.” The kitten licks his paws. Sissel had been used to feel numb for ten years, so feeling all this tiredness was new. He didn’t remember being this tired when he used to be alive, even if he spent most of the time lazying around.
“Sometimes I miss eating though. That’s one of the few things I miss from when I was alive. Can’t eat when you’re dead.”
“Feel free to eat as much as you want. I usually eat ramen or chips, but ice cream is good too. It won’t kill you. Just stay out of the sunlight for extended periods of time. And don’t worry about needing to drink blood. It’s too much of a hassle, so I just don’t bother with it unless Mahiru needs me to.”
oneneetblackcat:
Kuro squinted nervously at the man holding him and continued to flail his paws in the air. He hoped if he whined enough, they might drop him, but so far, they didn’t seem willing to.
“H-hey… put me down… what kind of human grabs random strays?? I’ll call the cops…” No he wouldn’t, but he hoped it would scare this person off from asking more questions. “What makes you think I’m not a normal cat, nya?”
“Well, you sure don’t look like it.” He tightens his grip on the cat, mildly swinging the thing around. Judging by how uncaring he looks, Lucian looks like he’s purposely trying to irritate the other. This isn’t going to help him later.
Lucian raises his eyebrows. “What are you going to tell them, huh? That you’re a cat, and someone grabbed you?” Pause. “…Are there even police here? Come on, you little gremlin. I only asked one question.”
“Stop iiiiit... humans are so cruel! Assaulting poor innocent kittens like me for no reason...” He flailed his paws more and then curled in on himself, trying to appear smaller in the hopes that this guy would think he was just being mean to a small kitten.
“There are police here, and if you don’t let me go, I’ll call them.” Of course, his phone was in his human jacket, which he would have to transform to reach, but Lucian didn’t have to know that. “I’m just an innocent kitten named Kuro. Why does it matter?”
oneneetblackcat:
“I’m not swiping at you.”
“Ah… Can I pet you then?”
“Nya, I’m very soft. Please pet me gently.”
oneneetblackcat:
“Do you pet them wrong? Cats are very delicate and you can’t be mishandling them.”
“Pet them? No, they won’t even let me get close without swiping. I think it’s because I’m half monster…”
“I’m not swiping at you.”
oneneetblackcat:
“Maybe if you didn’t slander cats, you wouldn’t have that problem.”
“I’ve never slandered cats before and this has been going on for years.”
“Do you pet them wrong? Cats are very delicate and you can’t be mishandling them.”
“In defense of my slander of cats, they keep scratching me. I can’t go near one without them hissing and swiping at me.”
“Maybe if you didn’t slander cats, you wouldn’t have that problem.”
“But cats are the best kind of people. Better than humans and vampires at least.”
oneneetblackcat:
“Well, you’d like Mahiru. He’s a troublesome Eve, but he tries to keep things as simply as possible. He even says ‘thinking simply!’ or whatever. Drags me into a lotta problems though because he wants to be a Shounen Manga hero.”
He might be complaining but he loved Mahiru dearly.
“Here, laying it out in front of you will probably help you in the beginning, but I’ve gotten to where I can eat with forks and play video games even with these tiny paws.” He started up the tutorial and sat back, watching how Sissel would progress.
“He seems really nice. I’d love to meet him someday.”
Sissel watched attentivelly and he thought he got the basics of it by now. It shouldn’t be too difficult, so he tried to mimic what Kuro was doing.
“The only problem is that I can’t read.” He said simply as he noticed the symbols (letters) on the screen.
“...................” Well it’s not like he couldn’t understand. Cats didn’t need to read, usually. “Ah.... well... I guess I can read out loud? Maybe Sora can teach you to read at some point...”

“This is so troublesome I could die… although we’re not too different even like this…” He wondered, briefly, if he could step out into the sun and feel the warmth again? Although he wasn’t sure. Nor did he really care. “What do you think…?”
“Well, technically you’re already dead… In my body at least. You won’t be able to feel things while you’re in there so I’m sorry. ” Sissel replied. The whole body exchange wasn’t something so unusual for a ghost was was used at possessing stuff and even had a friend who could possess others as well.
“Well, not so different, but it’s weird feeling again. I was so used to feel numb… Also, do you always feel tired like this?”
“Not much different then. I was already dead when I became a vampire, so...” He lets his sentence trail off, preferring not to speak of his past. “Granted I didn’t feel as numb but at I’d prefer that, so this is a welcomed surprise.”
His sin did allow him some numbness, but it wasn’t the same. “Yeah. I’m sloth. Be careful of sore muscles.”
“I’m still a cute cat.”

“As if you and the violent angel weren’t close enough…. how’s he taking the body switch anyway? Being stuck as a demon must suck for him.” Kuro can’t complain, since he’s still a black cat. “Try not to forget which witch is which though, I heard if you’re in someone else’s body for too long you start to see their memories and pick up their mannerisms.”
“Fuck you. Not a demon.” Seems like the warning might be a bit late about picking up the personality traits, given the unusually grumpy reflex response to the comment.
But not all of them, since he almost immediately follows it up with a laugh. “He hates it. He thought it was something I did at first and demanded I undo it. If I was going to magic myself ‘close’ to him, it wouldn’t be like this.” He grins lasciviously and winks. It should be pretty obvious what he means there.
“Can’t say I’m complaining about being able to walk around as a human all the time though, and these boots kick so much ass. Anyway, how’s it working out for you, being a cat of the same color?” He tilts his chin to indicate his brother is still wandering around as a black cat.
