"You have this strange balance of personalities , I suppose - me and Roger, the bad brothers, always pulling in different directions, and then John - the strong, silent one who would often be the one who, in the end, would influence the final decision the most.."
The Queen Lucy Boynton @ the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
Me laying down to go to sleep with the haunting thought in my mind that I'll never see Freddie live or see Queen in their prime performing my fave underrated songs

The way Queen music makes me, a queer person feel so included and safe…not just because we have a gay man writing and singing about his own experiences, but because to varying degrees, even when he is singing a song that was written by one of the other members, just by virtue of Freddie singing it, it becomes queer-coded and we inevitably must look at it through that lense. Everything about Queen is queer, from Freddie’s identity as a gay man, to the way Brian would purposefully try to write toward his friend’s experiences because he knew the meaning would change once Freddie sang those lyrics, to the found family these men nutured (saying again and again that at certain points they were closer to each other than their own families, the comparison of the band being like a marriage), to the life Freddie led with his other found family, his partners and close friends, to the way other queer artists see themselves in Freddie’s lyrics.
This is one of the most popular and acclaimed bands of all time, and they are QUEER. Us queer people belong in this fandom so firmly. We are, in fact, central to it.
