This project came to an end a year ago and I'm proud say it earned me a 1st Class MA and an Academic Commendation from Kingston University, 2014.

Appendix 1 : Quotes on Superstition (used on Realistic Fortune Telling Cards)

Maybe you should just break a mirror now and see what happens. You want to believe more than you really do. Chill the fuck out, basically. There's chaos and stuff but it'll probably all be ok in the end. It's not like something really bad's going to happen. Surely you're not going to base a decision on this? It's hard being alive and if this helps then I guess it's ok. My definition of the world is, it's all pretty unpredictable, right? It's not about the card, it's what you read into it. If you tell anyone the secret, it won't matter anymore. You've been through too many things, too many to be scared of something like this. You might like this because it's weird and you're weird. All of a sudden you feel a bit uncomfortable. It's pretty creepy, but you're into it. Why do you want to know the future? You've got to learn to deal with it rationally. You don't believe in it, you don't think, You don't know.

Appendix 2 : Superstitious Stories from Tarot Readings

The project is now finished and the boxes complete - these are a few quick snaps from the install but hopefully I'll get some better ones if they go on show.

I'm really happy with them - I might re think the UV bulbs as you can hardly see them and they get so hot I'm not sure they're very practical - I'll also have to think about the light levels around the pieces.
