Today's adventure! #laketahoe #tahoe #map
I am currently staying outside the Bay Area with my friend Danny (from Colorado) and their housemates Sachi and Russell (who grew up in NC—go figure). I've gotten to spend time in San Francisco and have been how I've danced every time I've visited, haha. They even play dance music at the gas stations and cafes, it's pretty ridiculous and super fun. Even went to a silent disco on the beach and got to watch the sunset with old friends and new ones. Also, popped up to Sacramento for a medical appointment, which I could have seen more of that city. I'm in a small farming town now and I've never been able to get this variety of local produce in my life. It's been really wonderful. Can't lie, I'm falling in love with this area and there's been so much that has happened in the last two weeks... more to come later.

Share-It Square — Portland, OR
Community treehouse, library, poetry cabinets, bulletin board, and of course the colorful mural painted in the square itself. Such a cute neighborhood and what a great place for kids in the area!

I'm not even a breakfast foodie, but I ate at that very outside table for breakfast with host Justin and surfer Christine the morning I went to the farm and it was truly phenomenal. Our waiter was super snarky; it was super great.
Justin, our amazing host, pictured flailing above and Australian surfers mimicking below. What an amazing vibe at this house.

Finally staying in Portland for more than 24hrs!
Taking a catch-up/clean-up day today organizing my life since I'm in the city again. I'm staying at this place for the next couple days that is a real hub of couchsurfers with an Australian gal, three German students, a couple from NC, and a Malaysian gal who showed up this afternoon. It has been wonderful to connect with other travelers, and I'm getting some great advice.

@woodsnap I spent my #woodsnapadventure weekend hiking around a #nationalpark getting covered in sap by hugging giant #sitkaspruce trees! #worthit #washingtonstate #rainforest #treehugger #roadtrip (at Olympic National Park)
So I've taken a couple detours and somehow I ended up in Washington.
Multnomah Falls, OR Pictures do not do this experience justice. It was way more steep: 600ft drop at least. I could have sat on that ledge a lifetime. Hands down the best waterfall I've experienced, and only because I ignored all the posted signs advice to keep on the pavement. Got to splash around the edge of the waterfall and sit on a ledge at the edge of what felt like the world. Super dangerous and totally worth every second.
On a whim, found a Couchsurfing event to car-share a camping trip to Crater Lake National Park where I met Joëlle and Jeremy. We cooked veggies over an open fire; froze during the night; hiked to the peak of the rim, and soaked in some secluded hot springs.
