Again, the senior-year student wished she could read her friend’s thoughts and implied actions instead of apparent ones. She wished to reach for the latter’s palm for reassurance, but she remained in an arms-length along the inability to hold the girl due to occupying hands. Not only was she expecting an explanation, Eli was longing to remove the pressure over her companion’s shoulders in an eventual time, hopefully soon.
Before long, Eli’s features consisted of distress by her brows arching and lips curving in a descended position. She paused for a bit, perceiving the grown chatters of other customers within the vicinity. It didn’t take a second for her palm to ball into a fist and clench itself from such concern.
“The question’s a bit vague, but if I have to give a general example.. it’d be me being hard-headed. Hanayo, you don’t need to be formal with me. I also wish you’d tell me the exact issue here.”
❛ N-No, I mean l-like... You get to school, and you
don’t have a pen on an exam day, o-or, your eating
breakfast and egg gets on your uniform on picture
day... Those kinda things... ❜ All of which have
happened to the first year in the past. Luck was never
in clumsy Hanayo’s favor. Days meant to go well went
the worst as possible. There was no telling what would
go wrong but something-- something would go wrong
that exam day and she was sure of it. After all-- It was
her luck.
She rested down the pair of chopsticks, looking up at
Eli. Noting the concern that painted her face. ❛ W-Well,
you see... I have a big exam co-coming up. But the test
isn’t the issue... I-It’s everything else... Something always
goes haywire o-on days they need to go right. L-Like I
tend to oversleep, even sleeping through my alarm on
exam days. O-Or I don’t have a pen, or just... Something
bad happens on days that need to go smooth... ❜ She gave
a firm nod before continuing, making sure the other was
following along despite the loud chatter. ❛ I-I can’t have
anything go wrong... It’s an important e-exam. ❜
