Hello everyone! I’m sorry that I don’t have a graphics… I’m never great with photoshop in the first place ^^;… Anyways, on December 29, 2015, I started to roleplay as Suhyun… And six months later… I’m still here~! I would love to thank everyone who has been roleplaying with me either from day one, or just recently! “Hey, what is that?” She asked while leaning over the man’s shoulder, finally making herself noticed as she had being observing the screen of the man’s computer as he worked while sitting on the outside of the small restaurant, the particular image that flashed on the screen having caught her attention, and her curiosity being big enough to have her so bluntly and shamelessly ask him about it. Her black eyes completely focused on the dazzling image as her crimson tinted lips remained slightly gapped open for the following moment of silence.

It wasn’t often, but occasionally someone would remember or hear from a mutual friend that he was adept with computers and could do more than a simple reboot or virus cleanup. When that happened, he’d be called in as their personal geek squad to resolve any issues they had involving their electronics. In Geun’s opinion, if people actually took the time to upkeep maintenance for their devices they wouldn’t have to go through the devastation of them breaking. People would never learn, though, they took the digital wonders they were given and misused it constantly only to get angry with it later for no longer properly working. Nothing, human or not, will continue to function properly if mistreated. That’s how malfunctions happened and criminals were created.

Due to a friend of a friend’s misuse, their laptop was in dire need of an upgrade on a graphics card, ram, new dc port and from the looks of it an OS reinstall. Geun had completed the hardware changes while at home but decided to head out to a cafe that he liked to frequent since they had a strong wifi connection along with some of the best dukbokki he had ever tasted to complete the system reboot. It was a tedious process, rebooting and making sure the proper drivers were installed and updated, which why he made sure he was being paid a decent sum for all the work he had to do to bring their computer back to life. Letting a benchmark play through, the blond started eating some of his meal and just as he was about to take a bite a lock of brown hair slipped over his shoulder with a random inquiry thrown his way. Lowering his fork, Geun’s lips thinned a bit, clearly not amused by the interruption.

Not answering immediately, the blond wet his lips and moved to take a sip of his drink that was sitting on the other side of his bowl of food. “That is a benchmark, a program, running on a computer to assess its performance.” He paused, shifting away from the female, not fond of strangers within his very small zone of comfort. Her boldness at approaching him, to some would have earned credit, but with someone as suspicious as Geun it only made him want to be around that person even less. He wasn’t overly social to begin with so being pulled into conversations with strangers was never on his to-do list. Question answered he felt no need to offer more on the topic and set about taking that bite of food he had to put on pause because of her. “If you’re finished being curious, I’d like you to stop breathing over me while I eat.”

[Cont.] He was already on his own when she had found him. Fighting between life and death coughing his own blood. Last night was the worse she had seen him yet. She had to bring him back to life after losing him for the longest five minutes of her existence. Resurrecting him had put a toll on her she wasn’t going to lie. The deity allowed herself to be curious and  dare to ask him. What was she to lose? She was more capable if worse comes to worse.

The fact that his mind was drawing nothing but blanks as he tried to recall the series of events that led up to him bleeding out on her couch only added to his growing frustration. When she turned the question back at him, his face contorted a bit from the pain combined with the fogginess of his mind. Everything still felt out of place for him, like he was now a stranger in the world of the living. A soul that was no longer supposed to be there, but by some luck of fate he was still alive and breathing; barely, but still breathing. “I can’t recall anything, but darkness. I dreamt I was at some place and it felt like home. Then when I woke up I was here on your couch in pain. Fuck,” Geun sighed, a hand painted with dried blood lifted to rub at his eyes before slowly starting the task of moving into sitting position.

Geun waited a few minutes to make sure he wasn’t going to pass out before picking up the previously offered cup of whatever she had concocted for him to drink. “You are sure you’re not a witch or something? You must have some magical powers with how well you’re able to treat my wounds, even the internal ones. Though, with as nasty as some of these brews you make are, one would think you do it on purpose to keep me from getting back in these situations.” He snorted, even with the taste not being to his liking he had already become aware of how well her elixirs worked and made sure to drink every last drop.

“You wouldn’t hold back information from me that could possibly be vital to piecing together this mystery, correct?” The blond asked some time later after setting the mug down, not trying to accuse her of anything, but also didn’t want her to assume she’d be protecting him but withholding any information. “Even if it’s something that seems insignificant to you could be a piece to the puzzle.” He paused letting his words hang in the silence between them to give her some time to weigh them over. He wasn’t trying to add pressure, but the fact of the matter was someone tried to and almost succeeded at killing him. He needed to gather every bit of information he could to see if it was who he suspected or if a new enemy was after him.

Letting out a loud groan, Geun forced himself to stand up from the couch and after swaying several times managed to not fall. Now it was a process of getting from the couch to the wall so he could use it as a leverage to keep steady. Grunts and curse words fell from his mouth in cadence with the dragging of his feet. Once his hand rested upon the cold wall, the other tightly clutching his own waist, the stubborn blond began to shuffle his way towards her bathroom. After several minutes of the weak shuffling, the blond felt the anger surge within him once more and he eventually just let his hand hover near the wall, but refused the assistance out of pride.

The sudden break in silence pulled the male from the murky depths of his mind causing him to slowly crane his neck in the direction the interruption had come from. When his dark gaze landed on the petite female, his facial expression remained indifferent as he silently processed the random comment. “You’re referring to my bat?” The blond mumbled, still not offering so much as a hint of a smile since his mind was still shaking off the dark thoughts it had been drowning in. 

“I have little need for the excess. I do fine without all the flash and bang. The point is to blend in when I need to and carrying a spiked bat to work is opposite of what I want to achieve.” He added, lifting a hand to touch the metal bat that was secured against his backpack. Not in a social mood, too occupied with brooding over his previous thoughts, the tall male let the conversation taper off there and turned to face forward to continue to wait on the bus that would carry him home.

Most of Glitch’s attention had been on the man that had walked in on them. Even though it was an accident, the worker obviously knew who the female he had just “revived” was with the way he was eyeing her and for a moment the hacker wondered if he could simply slip away while the two were distracted. Unfortunately, his window of escaping without being noticed was short lived and the male worker ended up excusing himself before Glitch could even finish straightening up from his kneeling position. ‘How did you do it?’ The inquiry came out sounding as if he were being accused of causing whatever accident had befallen the woman when in reality he had been in the wrong place at the right time.

The hacker remained calm as well was silent as the female gathered herself from what he assumed would be an embarrassing situation. Being found spewing out error codes in the middle of a workplace of humans probably took a jab at the pride; if robots were programmed with such a trait. He expected the haughty tone and stoic manner, but he hadn’t expected her to run his made-up ID card so soon. One of his hands lowered to take hold of the fake badge that hung from his neck to glance at it before his lips curved into a small smirk. Even if she said it in a disapproving tone, the woman was impressed with his creation and that led to a seed of intrigue to be planted.

Much like how his interest in her not being human bloomed the more he watched her go through the motions of resuming her former human-like mannerisms. Knowing her secret was in the hands of a complete stranger, Glitch was entertained when the conversation began to steer towards bribery for his silence. The completely human-like action made the blond lift up an eyebrow as he silently weighed the worth of her offer. If he wanted, he could use this situation to gain permanent access to the facility, no longer needing to personally venture out to gather information for future jobs involving this place. As tempting as that was, the hacker found her offers lacking since the rest of them were things easily achieved on his own if not already.

Even the easy access wasn’t that tempting since she only figured out he wasn’t a worker because of her artificial intelligence; otherwise he’d have gone unnoticed. Funny that he was the one who saved her and she is making loose threats about turning him in after making her bribes. Glitch gave her one final look before taking a few steps back to make sure his phone was automatically decoding the information he had stolen from the facilities servers. The silence that lingered at the end of her demanding question stretched until he had felt that everything was still going according to plan. “A thank you is what should have been the first thing out of your mouth,” The hacker replied in a calm tone. “Helping you appear more humanly,” He added as if to jab at the fact that he now knew her secret. This situation was already looking bad in his case seeing as he wasn’t even authorized to be on the facility’s campus and if caught he’d be facing more than jail time if his fingerprints were scanned.

He had gotten caught up in something that was probably bigger than he realized simply because he had been too fascinated by the fact that he had stumbled on someone presumed dead but tired out to only be a malfunctioned human-like robot. “As for your offer, I have no interest in any of it.” He added, pressing a button on the side of the phone before holding it up as if to take her picture when really it did a quick scan. “I only did a soft reboot. Parts of your system are starting to deteriorate. There’s corrosion within some of your wiring and the jolt that knocked you out caused a small spark, which led to a small fire and you have some burned hard drive near the core of your mainframe,” Glitch mumbled, he was excited to be this close to something he had only dreamed about, but his tone and facial expressions remained unchanged as usual. “There is one thing you can do for me though and it’s something we’ll both benefit from.” He paused, lowering his phone to put it away in his pocket.

“I want to do your upgrades. There’s only so much work you can do on yourself otherwise you’d have fixed it.” That was the only deal he’d accept in this case, otherwise, he’d run and leave with the knowledge of who she really was and would use it to his advantage later on when she least expected it. As far as he was concerned, he wasn’t on the grid, even with her being able to facially recognize him if she searched through police reports or government files there would be no dirt on a guy named Won Geun. Maybe that’s where his cockiness came from, the fact that he felt like a phantom moving through society day in and day out knowing that he couldn’t be found unless he wanted to be.
