No one wants to ask for money - especially when it means laying bare all the vulnerable bits that you pretend aren't true just so you don't get those awkward, "ohh...i see" comments when you say all your bank accounts are negative, you're living in your car, and your mental health is taking a...

I’m learning to be unashamed in asking for help from my community. The last month has been hellish and I’ve left it feeling very abused & broken. After working on racist/transphobic/homophobic farm in 100+ degree weather, almost no food, and being outed - it took 5 extra days to get paid & shortly after leaving, my sweet wonderful car (Dolores) just couldn’t do it anymore. I got stranded in Small Town, Ca where I got threatened and called a “fucking faggot” and had to abandon my beloved car...all while losing all the money I had to towing costs and motel rooms.

I’m a queer, trans person of color and deal with a multitude of mental illnesses & not having a vehicle means that my one reliable, stable means of travel & sleep is gone. I’m now at my parent’s house but it’s a small RV with 6 people and 2 dogs and there is a lot of triggering toxicity here.

I have work in a few weeks but I don’t know how I’m getting there & I’m scared to rideshare after everything that’s happened. I also need a vehicle so I can get to appointments to refill my testosterone. I’ve been tested and challenged and I’m still here and still trying.

I just love how you assume I'm a cis woman! You're only femme if you ID as such and you're women-aligned and you're a lesbian. Why are you considered femme? Because you're feminine? There's so much more to being femme than just being feminine. It's about how you interact with other women, which is why it's a lesbian term.

I actually didn't make any assumptions about whether you were a cis woman or not - I just said that your statement had a lot of gender essentalist & transmisogynistic vibes to it.I don't and never will identify as transfemme, as that's not my space & outside my lived experience (but that's a different conversation than this). You can only be femme if you ID as such, are woman-aligned, and a lesbian? By the rubric, it sounds like you're saying queer or bisexual or pansexual women can't be femmes either? How about the femmes who don't identify as women at all/entirely? This is shitty & erases an identity that a lot of people find great strength in. I don't call myself femme because I'm feminine. I do agree that femme is about a lot more than than being feminine but I also don't think it's necessary for me to explain why I'm femme to someone who is attempting to anonymously take that identity away from me. I don't owe you an explanation.

Femme is a lesbian term and unless you're lesbian you really shouldn't ID as femme. You're a feminine nonbinary boy, not a "femme boy"... stop stealing terms from lesbians thanks

Also, this concept of femme being exclusive to the lesbian feels very gender essentialist & transmisogynistic/terfy. It reads to me like “only women can be femme - only women who were assigned female-at-birth can be femme.” And that’s not okay.

And lemme tell you: the most inspiring, powerful femmes I know are *not* cis women and/or *do not* identify as lesbians sooo.

Also, it’s not cool to tell people what their identities are so stop.

Dear Tumblr Friends...

I know I don’t post here much and when I do, it’s pretty sparse & often when I do it’s asking for help.

But the truth is, despite my best efforts, I continue to find myself in unstable situations because of my mental health/chronic poverty/being a qtpoc/etc, etc.

I’m currently houseless but omw to San Diego to do some *seasonal work* that will hopefully lay a better foundation for my financial/emotional/life stability (my tarot cards keep telling me this plus it being a 1 year and all the other astrological stuff going on.)

I’m about 400 miles away & don’t have a enough money to get all the way there. My sweetie (who I’m traveling with) and I have basically tapped all our personal resources for loans and I don’t want to jug because I’m an anxiety bb.

If there’s anyway anyone can spare some $$ to help 2 non-binary femme qpocs arrive safely so we can start working, I’d be so so so grateful & would be happy to do a tarot reading in exchange! I’m also down to repay you once I start making money again

Update: we managed to get a fee dollars from a friend but ran out pretty quickly. We're only about 4 hours away from San Diego but completely stranded until we can get more gas.

My car had a bunch of problems so all the money I had got used for that & other necessary items.

I've been driving for 12 hours, running on almost no sleep in an effort to make it as far as possible but we really need help.

We're both queer, brown non-binary femmes plus my cute pup and we need help.

Please help us get the rest of the way if you can spare a little 💕 (I can send you cute pictures/videos of my doggo)

idk what else to do…i’m sad and hungry.

all of my bank accounts are negative..i’m waiting for my food stamps to re-up (cuz i’m out) i’ve tried asking for help on fb, instagram, here…i don’t have anyone i can borrow money from. i’m struggling to feel like i’m worth anything because i feel so ashamed for not being able to take care of myself….i’ll get my financial aid in 2 weeks but that’s still soo long to try and keep surviving.

i try to be positive and shit when post things like this…but i’m so down. i haven’t eaten well iin at least a week. i’m desperate now.
