He's coaxed her into longer before. Sometimes she wonders if time passes in this glade the way it should. Today, Magda makes some attempt to stall his silver-tongued pleas. Turns in his hold to wrap her own arms around his shoulders, lifting her chin to meet his gaze with love-warm eyes.

"I need to be seen returning to my home."

My home. It's a distinction that feels wrong here. Still, it's true.

A CHARACTER I AM CURRENTLY WRITING SOMEWHERE ELSE: Kyu the Mimikyu, a Pokémon OC! He is currently a Discord-only muse.

"Piiiika." He moves along the ground, his style of walking much more of a ghostly crawl than the popular Electric-Type's cheerful gait could ever be. "Piiiikaaachuuuu."

... He knows he's crawling.

With a sigh, Mimikyu retreats back into the shadows of the abandoned home he's taken up lodgings in. He's met a handful of people and Pokémon willing to see him as a Pikachu - Electric-Types, even, two Raichu, even! - but there are many, humans in particular, who do not.

He wishes it were because of his Typing. The duality of a Ghost-Fairy Type does not interact in battle as a Pikachu would.

But, no ... For the crueler members of humanity, they see this costumed thing and feel afraid of what lies beneath the cloth.

Why wouldn't they? He's not cute. He's horrifying. He's not lovable. He's to be hated.

"Piiika. ... Kyu." He curls in on himself, and he remains hidden.

A CHARACTER I AM CURRENTLY WRITING SOMEWHERE ELSE: Dracula the Deoxys, a Pokémon OC! They are currently a Discord-only muse.

They're always quiet, when they descend to Earth. They are not afraid of humans - quite the contrary, in fact, given their curiosity regarding Earthen customs - but humans can be ... overwhelming.

They are a creature from space. Here, they are classed as a "Legendary Pokémon", and it seems humans can be rather overzealous when it comes to catching species of such classifications.

Currently, the Deoxys - named Dracula by one Daniella Delarosa, the kindest human they have ever met - is rooting through a meadow. Never in their time in space have they seen blossoms like these before. The bright colors of the petals, the soft greens of stems and leaves, the other Pokémon unperturbed by an alien's presence ...

It's peaceful.

Beeping softly, Dracula carefully plucks some flowers. Their tentacles weave the flowers into a crown, a soft circle of pink and purple; it is a gift for Daniella, the human they'd be honored to have as a Trainer and to fight alongside.

A CHARACTER I HAVE RPED IN THE PAST: Jean Jacket from Nope!

The clouds move in the sky, as they always do; from the blowing of the winds to the turning of the Earth, it is a fact of nature that clouds are not stationary. Anyone who tracks storms or watches the sky above their home can say as such.

And yet, if one were to track the sky above a particular horse ranch ... No matter the movement of water and the forces of nature, one cloud remains. From sunlight to moonlight, days to weeks to months, it hasn't moved - at least not from spot to spot.

It has fed. That much is certain.

No ship is this. It is a creature, much like the very horses it's been eating, despite its differences in anatomy from its equine meals. In a form not dissimilar from Hollywood's alien abductions, it sucks them up, its body all maw and stomach. Blood and bones remain within. Blood and bones, then, are eventually dispelled, together with any inedible objects that are sucked up alongside the shrieking horses.

It is not the horse ranch itself that has kept it fed; that 'honor' goes to the nearby amusement park.

Like any predator, it will not leave a land where prey remains plentiful.

Like any predator, it does not exist to be tamed.

It's hard to focus, sometimes. To go from where he'd come from to here ... John grew up accompanied by a small number of scientists and corporate bigshots who all hurt him, yet he craved their approval; they were all he knew. But any 'care' he received was the bare minimum needed to keep him alive. His childhood was nothing like the "All-American" upbringing he claimed to have. Hell, he had no idea who his real mother and father were, and he's never once played childhood games or even had friends. But now, he's in a world filled with people, and none of them are like him, and they all want to be him and be around him. From miniscule to masses, from pain to love -

And then, the fan standing before him - a boy in a little leagues team jersey - says his name, repeats his question. "Mr. Homelander? I asked if you liked baseball!"

And his focus returns.

Homelander can't let himself get distracted. Heaven forbid he blacks out again and forgets where he is, forgets what he's doing, forgets who he's with. He's in no Bad Room! He's with a fan! His fan!

"I'm sorry, son; I was lost in memories of my youth. Yes, and in fact, my favorite sport is baseball. Did you know I used to play in my local little league team, just like you?" Much more aware of his own strength now, Homelander lightly taps the boy's chest. "There was certainly a lot of winning when I was on the field, and I bet it's the same for you."

"You think so, Mr. Homelander? I want to be a pitcher and go pro!"

"I bet you will! And I'll be right there watching evey game."

"Thank you, Mr. Homelander! Wow! I can't believe you played baseball, just like me!"

"Run through your interview answers, John. Start with your likes and dislikes." "My favorite food is apple pie. My favorite book is the Bible. My favorite sport is baseball. ... Doctor? Do I have to say baseball? I watched the videos like you said, and it seems - " A ten-second-long electric shock surges through John, his agonized screams going ignored as the bored scientist repeats, "Run through your interview answers, John. Start with your likes and dislikes."

"Yes," Homelander says, serene. "Just like you."
