Everything that could go wrong for figureskater!reader or figure skating AUs that isn't talked about enough [PART 2]
Note: i definitely have real scenarios in mind iykyk
- seeing your friends reach new heights (and podiums) while you struggle the season due to injury
- periods and birth control side effects
- how expensive costumes are and having to reuse them
- watching their PCS (program component scores) get tanked and getting slow mo reviewed on every element (ie TES getting hosed)
- probably happened due to speaking out against unfair judging and inconsistent technical calls
- getting examined by home fed judges before, during and after the season and be given advice (which may not be constructive, undermines their creative vision and cause stress)
- losing out on the podium by less than 1 point 🥀
- realizing the body can't go on although the mind is there and the struggle to hold it out for one more season
- getting sick after the SP and struggling to pull together decent practice and debating whether to withdrawal from important competition
- probably because spots are counted by placement and if placement is bad a country loses spots which meant up and coming young skaters get less international experience
- having to skate after a phenomenal world record skate by the skater before you, the stress and the pressureeee
- having language barrier and no one to talk to during big events (and banquets🥲)
