I remember a few weeks ago people were lamenting why 4CC is taken less seriously than Euros and well the latter’s tickets just went on sale while the host country for the former hasn’t even been decided because no one wants to host it so that answers your question.

#I could do a whole other post on why euros is objectively more important for European skaters than 4CC is for those skaters #but to keep it brief euros serves as a more legitimate competition than many European nationals while 4CC 90% of the time gets federation’s-#-leftovers who they either dont want to send to worlds or to use it as a tie breaker #you can debate the quality of skating in both but the fact is euros is culturally taken more seriously by skaters because it’s mandatory #while 4CC isn’t #figure skating

Also the combined worlds every few years idea is clearly not for persons who are already fs fans. They reported increased attendance from last Olympics to Milan it’s meant to encourage fs fans to also invest in the other ISU affiliated sports and attend speed skating and synchro events by forced association with each other.
