Reaching her palms up to cover her face, she let them drop again as he spoke. “Okay. You know better than me.” The Woos went to fancy events and all, but this was a different bar. A dress code that everyone interpreted differently. A theme! But not a costume party. “The next time we celebrate!” Which… Was soon, she didn’t want to think about it. “Yes, please, let’s go.” Offered a hand if he wanted it.

“  a  rarity ,  i’ll  take  it .  ”  caleb  smiles ,  because  there  was  hardly  anything  else  he  felt  he  knew  better  than  eden ,  she  was  much  smarter .  “  exactly ,  what  a  dreadful  day  that  will  be .  ”  he  laughs  softly ,  though  he’s  being  dramatic ,  champagne  wasn’t  that  bad . “  i’ll  definitely  be  back  for  your  graduation .  ”  he  adds ,  gentle  nod  following .  caleb  will  take  her  hand  with  no  hesitation ,  leading  her  towards  the  drinks  and  handing  her  a  glass  once  they’re  there .

Cheeks flushed the color of her dress, “Thank you, Caleb. Do you think I’m overdressed?” Somehow she felt too formal and too covered up all at the same time. The dress was her style though, she had to remember that. “What are you drinking? I’ll try it too! The drinks are very pretty.” And very strong, she had to remind herself that she wasn’t obligated to go overboard like all the other students. 

gaze  drops  to  her  cheeks  shortly ,  a  gentle  smile  playing  on  his  lips .  “  no ,  not  at  all . . .   i  don’t  think  it’s  really  possible  to  be  overdressed  at  something  like  this .  ”  caleb  turns  his  head  to  glance  around  a  moment ,  more  to  try  and  distract  her  from  herself .  “  mostly  champagne   —   i  don’t  really  like  it  but  when  else  will  i  drink  it  ?  ”   because  he  doesn’t  plan  to  ever  again .  “  but  i  haven’t  tried  the  pretty  ones ,  either ,  so  we  should .  ”

“No.” They finished off their drink. “And no. Darn, looks like you gotta bring two.” Kat said no twice :(

despite  their  response ,  caleb  smiles  more ,  not  sure  if  he  believes  them  as  he  pauses .  “  okay ,  bet .  ”  he  nods ,  and  luckily  for  him ,  and  them ,  there’s  some  glasses  being  passed  around  on  a  tray  that  caleb  will  grab  two  from ,  handing  kat  one .  “  try  again .  ” aka  down  it  and  say  yes ,  kat ,  ffs .

"  i  know  i  saw  the  dress  before  but  —  you  really  do  look  beautiful .  "  caleb  makes  sure  to  tell  her ,  a  soft  glance  over  as  he  does .  "  would  you  like  a  drink  or  anything  ?  "  he  wonders ,  actively  trying  not  to  bring  up  the  fact  he  won’t  be  back  next  year .

"  are  you  going  to  miss  me  ?  "  caleb  asks  them  with  a  wide  grin .   he  hasn't  even  graduated  yet  and  he's  already  missing  people .  “  if  you  say  no ,  i’m  giving  you  champagne  until  you  say  yes  .  ”

eyes  widen  briefly .  “  HUH ?  er ,  yeah ,  n-no  ,  i  don’t  think  that  was  me .  ”  caleb  has  to  laugh  a  bit ,  suddenly  a  warmth  on  his  cheeks  but  he  doesn’t  think  he’d  forget  someone  he  slept  with .  “  did  you  come  alone  ?  ”  he  wonders  with  a  small  glance  around ,  seeing  if  anyone  was  with  her .  “  —  i  think  you  can  still  have  as  much  fun  without  a  date .  ”
