What a peculiar way to respond to a simple Thank you. Well, peculiar, but not as peculiar as the rest of this man. Genji could only assume his host’s reaction had something to do with what led him to live estranged from the rest of society. This felt more like an apathetic curiosity than genuine concern, however, so Genji decided it would be for the best if he didn’t ask too much questions. He was in no position to want to risk bringing upon himself the ire of the one human being he could talk to in months.

Nothing good ever came from bringing up the past.

He spotted the food he was offered on a tree trunk used as a table. The remains of some unfortunate animal that were roasted to a more appetizing appearance. It was a far cry from even the dehydrated meals they served at Overwatch’s cafeterias, but that looked tasty enough for the ninja to accept the hermit’s proposal. He was about to reach for the promised meal, when the other rose up, suggesting he at least let him finish to treat his injuries first.

The cyborg slowly rose from the makeshift bed under him, his entire body still felt sore, but his legs weren’t as light as he would have feared. While he made the process of heaving himself up look painful, he managed to stay steady on his feet, with the only real pain being from all the shocks and burning on his chest, shoulder and ribs that resulted from his fall. So, really, only the parts where his armor took too much damage. It could have been worse. I owe you again, Doctor Ziegler.

“I can still move just fine. All that scrap has to be good for something…“ He said in a chuckle, following his host to that other room, while passing a hand over the dirty bandages. They weren’t too tight or too loose… Such delicatesse, you wouldn’t expect from this strange person just looking at him.

“But… You don’t have to bother, I’ve gotten good at patching myself up. I’ve already caused you enough trouble.”

The wolf’s eyes followed his brother carefully && curiously the question of ‘ what happened to you ? ’ on his lips but oh ! -- he knew what had happened to Genji; it had been Hanzo, himself.

Cautiously, he took the bandages that were handed to them && placed them on the table to hand Genji the new ones. He was not too willing to let him do the changing himself but it would seem... weird for him to push Genji to let him do it rather than let him do so -- it would bring even more suspicion to him.

“ It is no bother, but if you insist on doing so yourself; I will not stop you. ”

He then took the dirty bandages again && dropped them into his trashcan with an uncertain expression upon ashen features -- it was gone when he turned around again && instead glanced at Genji with concern masked as curiosity.

“ The person who did that to you must have been cruel. ”

It slipped out before Hanzo could stop it && he seemed momentarily shocked, before clearing his throat && looking elsewhere. But yes, he was cruel even if he had been reconditioned into doing it.

“ I... I apologize, I did not mean to say that out loud. ”

He went back into the ‘ bedroom ’ to take the food from the table && then returned to the other room && put the food onto the table so that Genji could take it after. If he starved for this, it wasn’t like he didn’t deserve it.

He should... probably tell Genji though. But how could he ? How could he just tell him that he was his brother ? His hands clenched into fists at his side && his eyes were downcast as he was lost in thought about what to do. He would be deserving of anything his brother did to him, if that included killing him, then Hanzo would not... fight back.

it was cold, too cold. one of those nights were the cowboy wished he wasn’t as buzzed as he is right now. he stumbled outside of the bar he was in and tried to make it to the nearest empty alleyway to sleep in. the life for the outlaw hasn’t been easy, especially with his drinking problem, it usually lead him into trouble.

as jesse sat in the alleyway in a cold night, he tipped his hat down as he secured himself with his blanket. while trying to sleep he heard incoming footsteps that caused the cowboy to raise his weapon to point directly at the arriving stranger. though he was still buzzed jesse can hardly make out what the stranger looked like but he could see….ears ??? “ listen….i..don’t want no trouble. keep walking. “ he groaned.

Hanzo didn’t usually approach people, let alone come close to civilization, unless he needed to get something from a store or look for anything new that he could help others with. His way of seeking for redemption even though deep inside he knew he’d never be worthy of forgiveness -- not to mention it wouldn’t bring his brother back to him.

He’d seen the bounties on several people during his travels && while it would bring in a lot of money, that was not the reason the ex-heir took on these ‘ quests ’.

But the last thing the wolf expected was to come across one of those bounties, an outlaw -- Jesse McCree, he believed -- && it wasn’t that he wanted to really approach the man but rather that his feet brought him there of their own volition. He was not dumb; it was dark && anyone would be wary && cautious when someone came to them in the dead of night.

But still, ears flicked under the hood -- irritation -- not that it showed on his face.

“ That is... understandable but perhaps you should not make an enemy out of every person you meet. You are inebriated && while I do not doubt your aim, please refrain from shooting me -- or even aiming at me -- or I may change my mind about aiding a... bounty. ”

A pause, then;

“ I doubt you are inclined to spending the night in freezing cold temperatures. ”
