people will break your heart, all the time. perhaps not all at once. but slowly, one crack after the other. sometimes, without even meaning to. and if you are not in the business of healing yourself, of taking yourself away and mending your pieces together again, one day at a time; you’ll find yourself with a heart so fractured, it no longer feels.

and that is the worst feeling of all; numbness.
