i overheard my classmates in painting talking abt how they always draw/paint their OCs in their work and for figure assignments and stuff and i was like babby i never do that can’t relate… fast forward i’m working on the figure in my painting which i didn’t use any ref photos for and i’m like hmmm why does she look familiar?? oh it’s because she looks exactly like one of my few OCs :) lol

acetone is the best band ever they literally don’t have a single bad song and i can listen to all their albums all the way thru without getting pissed off which never happens cuz i’m super picky. even most radiohead albums there are at least 3 songs i don’t even wanna entertain bc they’re just meh. acetone i love u sexy!!

i kept the kids in the divorce but i feel like i can’t hug them and i don’t look at them the same as my biological one… idk how to connect with them and sometimes when i look in their eyes i see their father

i sound like the worst person on earth rn but sometimes i resonate with this as an artist (especially while getting my degree)— literally the only way you can become proficient in your artistic practice is to do the work. doing the work is so mentally and physically taxing— my joints and bones are constantly complaining and even pleading with me. that’s always been the sacrifice of the work and it’s worth complaining about. i don’t like work, in fact i’m really lazy especially when it comes to any type of corporate work. i would never tell a cashier or a bank teller or a contractor to “get their ass up and work”—they are!! but, and omg i sound like a dick, why are so many people calling themselves artists but like not doing anything? why are you pursuing an arts degree if you’d do anything in your power to avoid the art assignments? why are you complaining about how “anatomy is hard” but you’ve only drawn like 2 people and refuse to try again? why are you constantly avoiding trying new things and wondering why everything is difficult? all of this while looking at the work of talented and dedicated artists and reducing it to “natural talent” or some wild mutation they got while exploring the amazon, and you let that discourage you rather than push you to keep practicing. idk if i’m just on a high horse and don’t realize it but so many people at my college are like this and it drives me CRAZY.
