born to a single mother in a tiny coastal town in southern italy, siena has never known how not to fight for her own survival. she was the oldest of three and despite wishing her whole childhood not to be the sibling with responsibility, she always took the obstacles head on - like she knew there had to be better on the other side. often times there wasn't, but the hope kept her on her feet. one of her earliest memories is learning to fish from a local fisherman who helped teach her the importance of being able to provide for herself.
she was always expected to help her mother with whatever the woman needed and as siena got older, she grew tired of the lack of independence. her siblings left before she did and the resentment of expectations festered. as much as she wanted to help, there were other things she wanted more. one afternoon, as the sun was setting, siena packed what little belonged to her and traveled north with only a small note left behind so her mother wouldn't worry. whether she did worry, siena never knew, as she heard of her mother's passing years later.
siena traveled all over europe, finding employment with singing in operas and entertaining at events. she had a contract in paris for a few years and then found a few opportunities in london that compensated better. that's where she's found herself for the moment, locked into certain gigs specifically for the ton - where the most money comes. she sings certain nights at the opera house and performs for various events or venues, given the right price.
money and opportunity is the motivating drive for siena, which drove her into viscount bridgerton's arms back when she was familiarizing herself with the ton. though originally after what he could offer monetarily, and physically, she did find herself fond of his company. though things were never too serious, siena confessed her feelings had become deeper for anthony and they agreed to end their relations there. though the wound is still sore and she does miss his conversation, he always had a way of making her feel like her problems were minuscule, the feelings have faded.
