Here’s my new friend, Ogawa-san. I met her because she works at our hotel. I gave her a box of chocolate covered Mac nuts and when we checked out, she gave us 2 Tokyo Starbucks tumblers and some candies. How sweet is she? So the I gave her some furikake potato chips from Kona. Always, always good to carry extra stuff from Hawaii. You never know who you’ll meet. And isn’t she cute?
Last day- sushi at tsukiji!
Sorry but mom wanted more pics and this was all I could find on my phone. The rest are on the actual camera. Here you go mom.
Ok it happened again. But it's really because it was both of our favorite meal. Had to be done. We won't get it again in Hawaii. 😭
Quick sushi stop. Looks so good!
Oh boy, Harajuku crepes, coffee break at Starbucks Tokyu Plaza, Belgium waffle cream sandwiches and famous Joe's Shanghai dumplings and all before dinner.
Hmm...do they look alike?
Had to post this. Saw a huge line and wondered what it was. Knew it was something popular cause there are lines everywhere for things that are good. What was it? An Eggs 'n Things! Now gotta find Kaila.
Harajuku and the crazies! Crazy crowded on the weekend and full of wildly dressed people.
Coffee break on the rooftop of Tokyu plaza.
Ok just about lost our minds with the best tonkatsu ever, hands down. So good and juicy and a lot of fat! Thinking we seriously may go back tomorrow. Maisen. In Shibuya. Very popular because honestly, it's the best. God, why can't we have this in Hawaii?
Shibuya crossing, choke people. Hachiko! Baked bread and porcini and shrimp and onion pizza- all from Chaseco in Shibuya. This is Nao, palani's friend and surf buddy. Came to check out his restaurant that was amazing!! So proud of him! If ever in Shibuya, you must try it!
And then this happened. I swear to you. Attending a sumo tournament is one of the coolest things you can do in Japan. It only occurs 3 times a year in Tokyo. Again, various food is offered, various beer (served to you in the stands), you can rent an English radio with commentator, and a woman actually come's around collecting rubbish. Plus, sumo is so exhilarating! Trying to see if we can purchase tix again!
It's funny when you're standing on the corner of tsukiji market and suddenly hear your name being called in a foreign country then realize, whoa, that's my friend. Here we randomly ran into Montree and his wife from Hawaii. Random! More unagi and beer and this famous pig intestine stew and more beer. Sounds gross but was delish!
After breakfast headed to Tokyo dome hotel so that we could catch the Famous Yomiuri Giants play the Yakult Swallows. Such a unique experience! Girls (that look 15) dressed in colorful outfits run up and down the aisles serving various snacks and alcohol. I mean 47 big steps. They are sweating! And attached to them are mini kegs full of alcohol! There was so many various food to choose from and palani's favorite- scotch! They actually serve scotch!
Good morning! Breakfast is served! And after a few more hours in the onsen, it's time to say goodbye to atami sekitei. We are so sad.
Exploring the grounds at night and now it's time for bed. Nite nite. The tummy has to rest for another day.
