A HERO AMONG US
So, like you, I have been lying here sifting through memes of Russia’s assassinated Ambassador and his movie-esque killer for the past hour now. But in light of WWIII, I’d like to bring a nice gift before the storm; the sound to the Aesthetic-as-fuck Chechnya jam (vid related) has been found by Dearmephisto and it’s basically made the rest of my year. I know a lot of us have been looking for a source, and he found it. Go give him a follow, or not.

RED ALERT
Yesterday’s gear; today’s war.
El Salvadorian infantry patrol the streets of Santa Marta in a country-wide effort to prevent gang-violence from erupting.
Irregular Combat Loadouts
Ugandan soldiers sporting an interesting and aclyctic array of weapons and equipment. Pictured are Chinese Type 56′s, Chi-com chestrigs with MOLLE-covered PCs, PKMs with synthetic stocks, and a rare 35mm QLZ-85 semi-automatic grenade launcher (rifle??) attached with a six round drum and no visible sighting optic. It’s also worth noting that they seem to prefer attaching the rear of their slings to the wrist of their rifles instead of the attachment points of the stock.
Winning Hearts and Minds.

Base of Fire Though, already covered by Military Armaments on his post about Operation Rapid Trident, there were a few photos missing from his photoset that I thought were worth taking a second look at. Namely; these few that illustrate a frequently looked-over detail of Com-Bloc armored personnel carriers: their gun ports and top hatches. Though BTRs are frequently seen depicted as using purely their 14.7mm MG; it’s rarely touched upon or even illustrated that BTRs were built with the idea of being used as a base-of-fire for their infantry cargo. They even have provisions for the driver to shoot their carbine while stationary.
