CHALLENGE 001 - ABOUT
Name: Ophelia Veronica Teller
Date of Birth: February 14, 1995
Color: Yellow
FC: Zoey Deutch
‘’I believe that the darkness reminds us where light can be.’’
Growing up in a small backwards town in Texas Ophelia never believed her life would be any more than that, dying in the same old rickety farmhouse that she was born in. She lived for the rare occasions strangers would come rolling through their small town, drawn to their side in a desperate need to know more. As the years went on small town life became unbearable to Ophelia, a community living in each other’s pockets suffocating her craving for adventure. The only solace she found came from investing her time into learning new languages, as many as she could manage with her ability to pick them up quickly. It was the closest she believed she would ever get to really exploring the world outside her small town.
Her chance came shortly after her 21st birthday, and a very unwanted proposal from her high school beau. All of a sudden Ophelia could see her whole life flashing before her eyes, stuck still in the same place with the same people for the rest of her life and it filled her with dread. She knew that she could have made it work if there was no other choice, it wasn’t like she didn’t care for the boyfriend but the thought alone of staying made her bilious. Within minutes Ophelia had a bag packed and a hastily written note left behind in her wake, too afraid if she saw the faces of her family it would stop her from leaving. With money saved up from various summer jobs and birthdays tucked safely away in her bag Ophelia bought a ticket for the first bus leaving town, it turned out her destination was Angel Grove in California. It definitely didn’t strike her as a popular destination, verified by the almost empty bus, but she felt an inexplicable pull that she couldn’t push down and so her journey began.
For the first month Ophelia was racked with guilt from leaving behind everything and everyone she had ever known, barely leaving her motel room despite finally having the freedom she had craved. In those four walls Ophelia was racked by dreams that were slowly driving her crazy, plagued by an unbearable itch to join a fight that she thought was all a product of her mind. Restless Ophelia eventually emerged from her room and began exploring Angel Grove, fully immersing herself in a culture outside of her small hometown to try and settle her mind. But no matter what she did the itch caused by her dreams remained, lingering with her as she went about her new life. It would pull her further and further to the edges of the grove until she stumbled upon the cave that would change her, finding the Vortex and suddenly feeling at peace with herself for the first time in her life. Being a Power Ranger may limit her ability to travel but it gave her a cause to fight for, and if there is one thing Ophelia can do it’s to fight for what she wants.
