JUDE:
“I’m not going to respect anyone who uses the word ‘youths’ seriously,” The girl giggled. It seemed like an odd statement from her, the girl who respected her father before anything else, but that was part of what made it so amusing. It was only because the bond between them was so deep that arguments could become explosive. “What’s your new classroom like? Please tell me you at least got rid of the stupid posters,” she commented before joking rolling her eyes. “You’re not gonna do anything because you know Mom would take my side,” She shrugged, her bond with Emma just as shakeable as the one with him. “And even then I could always go to Jean,” There could be no doubt that her whole parenting situation officially sucked, but it did have it’s upside sometimes. “Maybe you just need to try and improving your jokes,”
“What would you have me say instead? ‘Child’? ‘Small person’? ‘Youngling’?” Scott carried on, getting a little more enthusiastic with each awful term he could come up with. It was nice to see Jude with a giggle and a smile once again. In all honesty he wasn’t sure he would have been able to see it again, following the whole debacle. but that seemed to be ancient history at this point. She was giggling and smiling again, so he could only hope that was the case. “It’s awful,” He started with a blatant sigh. “The posters are back up, I’ll have you know. You sound just like Emma, honestly, what is wrong with my posters, kid?” He pulled a face briefly before nodding in agreement. “Yeah, I can’t deny that. She’d choose you over me any day. Same with Jean, no doubt.” He hadn’t expected her to bring Jean up, at least not without some form of insult attached, so there was a genuine smile that graced the male’s lips. “Maybe you need to be less picky.”
