hello! hey howdy, my name's Alaura, pronounced like Laura but with an A at the start! a ok so time is really weird right now it seems, but originally I was hired by Mann Co as a kind of cleaning lady on the RED team! due to the fact that I was completely and utterly disposable!! yeah well I suck at cleaning, saw some stuff I wasn't supposed to, and somehow managed to stay alive! so as time went on I kinda took on a sorta Moral Support role! Please do not tell anyone

just call me a professional friend :D (but not really. because then it feels disingenuous) if I can't be a friend to myself why not try to be a friend to hired killers?? they're not all that bad, they're kinda silly really!

There is a gentle knock on Alaura's office door, and a polite pause to wait to be invited inside. Rune steps in quietly, and gently closes the door behind themself. Skipping over happily, they offered Miss Alaura a piece of paper, containing another drawing.

With a happy sort of yip, they pointed at her, then slowly began miming the best they could to try and get their point across in lieu of words. They tapped at their throat, then mimed speaking with their hand, and pointed at the picture again.

*My dear friend is in before I even realize it, but I have no problem with that! Seeing they have another drawing already has me straightening up and intrigued!* Rune...!

Oh-- another?? Lemme see,, *Excitedly, my fuzzy brain first mistakes it for a heart (which is pretty cute in itself) but then corrects it to a swing soon after* Swing?? I love swings, I used to go on them and daydream when I was a kid! I still love swings now but it's not exactly like I can go on them while a bunch of little kiddos are out on the playground....

W-was there some kinda accident?? Were you able to talk until something happened on a swing?? not that you need a reason!

Rune let out a muffled giggle from within their mask, resting their hands politely on the edge if Miss Alaura's desk as she looked the drawing over. Her questions were silly to them, but they recognized when their meaning had been a bit lost.

They thought for a moment, humming in contemplation, then started gesturing with their hands once more. First, they pointed to themself. Then to where their ears were inside their mask. They swiped a hand against their arm, touching and tapping the suit. They pointed to Miss Alaura, and then tapped their throat again. Finally they pointed at the drawing again.

There, they rested their hands on their hips in a show of satisfaction, confident their point had come across more succinctly.

Ok... ok, so the swing.... swing. voice. swing, voice. talking. talking voice? hearing!! *I raise my finger in minute realization* hearing, hearing a voice talking and,, touching, feeling?? feeling, talking, voice....

it's a hearing about a voice and me?? me, my voice?? my voice! awman, talking about my voice..? *in a moment of divine comedy it happens to crack in that moment* and it feels.. *Glancing back down at the new entry in my sure-to-be collection of Rune Drawings* like a... swing? a swing, my voice is a swing? my voice is a swing! I've never had anyone say that to me before!! I'm assuming it's like a nice thing at least, sorry I didn't mean to look so deep into it!

Well if it is a good thing, I'd like to say... the small bits of your voice I've heard through the little bits and yips and such are very very easy on the ears!! the way you communicate is beautifully and I'm glad that I get to be on the receiving end of it! *My own hands fly to my sides too, fists closed over them as I try to "return the favour" Isuppose*

*I can't help myself, the off-white creamy-looking mound of sweet is the most beautiful thing I've seen in god knows how long the simple graham cracker base....... My god. he even took the time to add strawberries-* I think I could eat this within 5 minutes if you let me.

Oh!! This must be from Rune! Hiya hello helloooo!! Hm, what's my favourite flower... that's a good question, I don't often think much about flowers even though they are beautiful! I'm pretty partial to the carnivorous ones and the ones that look like bells though, did you know the Pitcher Plant is actually the provincial flower of Newfoundland?? We're the only one with a flower like that and I thought it was so cool,,

Y'know, after thinking about it.... the very first plant to come to my head would be Lily of The Valley. but I personally like to call 'em Jacob's Ladders, based off a game I used to play :>

*Nearly as soon as he finishes talking I roll back to my old friend, very near and dear to me: kettle.* That depends on what kinda cookies they are! are they a kinda red velvet or like a strawberry deal? Here, I have some lemon chamomile if you're feeling like you need to chill for a little bit but I also have this sweet roasted tea that goes really well with almond milk and brown sugar!

Oh but if you don't want tea at all, I can also also get the pot on the stove and make us some warm milk!! With cinnamon, honey, and vanilla! That'd also be good with cookies if you wanna dunk 'em! o-of course, I could also get just the usual if you don't want anything real fancy👉👈

From then on I break out a little packet from where I try to keep my teas organized; as much as I can at least, it's hard to keep anything organized around here* It's really more of like a powder, ya put two spoonfuls in your cup and go on from there :> What's fun though is that it also has strawberry flavouring in it so either way we're gettin' strawberry somewhere here!

I think it's called "Hojicha"...? Think like a green tea but roasted so it has a more earthy taste! with a bit of brown sugar though it makes a great milk tea

It's not one I'd have all the time, but I do like it! *Now digging for wherever the brown sugar may be*

Yeah? Thanks, my teams great when we’re doing well but when we eat it everyone gets pretty hard on themselves and each other. Most of it is just for show though, we play it up a lot for the job. Everyone more realistically ranges from mild repulsion, avoidance, to lukewarm indifference to some of em being somewhat friends- and we all like manage and help each other out in the end anyway. But still it can get rough when things go badly with work. Like too many loses in a row yknow? Hell even if we win and we’re happy we’re usually wiped by the end.

*after I’m done talking I take a sip, setting it down again. Stretching out and bouncing my leg to let off energy*
