How much time had past since they entered the camp was unknown. Maybe an hour, maybe two?
Sarah was now putting the last of the stitches in the arm's stump as she listened to the male mewtwo talk.
- While this was going on the mysterious tree breaking pokemon was remaining out of sight as he brought wood back to the camp. Dumping it between two trees outside of the fire's reach, to prevent unwanted sparking, in repeat trips. -
Silence was key. As she listened she took note how he's say something, then changed his mind earlier, and did not comment on it. Now he appeared willing to give some insight on how he got those wounds.
Maybe he felt the need to express his frustrations, maybe it was to keep his mind focused off what she was doing. Whatever the reason, Sarah listened without interruption until he was finished speaking.
There was the snip if scissors at cut the thread free. "So that's what happened. Sounds like you put up one hell of a fight." There was no judgment or emotion in her voice, only calmness.
"I many not know what it's like to loose an arm, but... Well-" there was a hint of something in that last word, like apprehension mixed with a cringe, as she brough her right hand down to knock on her right knee. "Knock-knock!" the sound was hard yet dull, like a shell made of some type of molded substance. "-I know what it's like to loose a limb."
It was the first time she drew attention to the dark, black, cargo pants she wore.
"WOOOOOSH!" In a clearly unintended dramatic effect in the background of her reveal, the fire shot to life with a flare up of light. The mystery firewood collecting pokemon announced himself by dropping the super dry top ends and branches of the pine tree he collected into the fire.
The sound and flare of light was enough to turn the attention of Chansey, Bubbles, and the human, Sarah for a few seconds.
The pokemon that stood before them on two legs was a mythical cat. His long yellow and short grey/black fur, two blue whiskers in the shape of thunderbolts, and electric blue eyes visible in the firelight.
The pokemon was Zeraora.
"Ah. Done already?" the cat nodded. "Thank you Ze." Sarah dabbed the Mewtwo's now sealed wound with more cleaning solution, and started to wrap it up with gauze padding and bandages.
"You can come out too, Absol." she called to the other pokemon who was hiding.
Out from the bushes by Chansey and the more mew looking female mewtwo, a male Absol with well groomed fur walked into few giving a large yawn. "About time. I was getting tired hiding in the bushes." he spoke in poke-speak, his voice gruff.
Chansey has used Heal Pulse on the female and was now sitting beside her to monitor her. She did notice the tendrils earlier, and thought it was weird, but made no reaction to them. As long as it didn't try to attack, she had no issue.
Sarah looked up into the eyes of the mewtwo, "I guess now is a good time than any to introduce everyone. You've met Chansey, and this Ivysaur here is Bubbles. Our cat friend over there is Zeraora, this one is Absol, and I am Sarah.
I have 3 other pokemon partners who are currently sleeping in their pokeballs.
I apologies for not revealing our other two friends sooner. Given the unknown situation we were walking into, I felt it best to ask them to stay on alert from the shadows. In cause things got hostile." The second reason was that revealing everyone after the first contact might have cause the mewtwos to feel overwhelmed or threatened. Sarah needed to think out all possible outcomes and made a judgement for what was best in that moment to keep everyone safe.
