He’s the oldest male orca I’ve seen in person. He’s estimated to have been born in 1963, which would make him 54 this year!

J2: In Memoriam

The oldest and most iconic member of the Southern Resident Killer Whale population, J2 “Granny,” is missing and presumed dead.

The population now stands at 78 members.
