Somethings been bothering me for awhile now, and I just rlly need to get it off my chest

I've noticed a CONCERNING amount of fics/hcs (specifically in the reader insert space) that seem to be made by AI. Or at least had some help with it

But it just... saddens me. Alot. Fanfic, especially reader insert fanfic, is one of the few spaces that is truly judgement free! Even if you have "bad writing", or whatever, it doesn't matter! Cuz at the end of the day, we're all doing this FOR FUN! And there's something out there for everyone, and if there isn't, you can ALWAYS, always make it yourself!

And, I think me and a lot of other fanfic writers can agree on this, there's just a certain joy you get from creating something on your own. Creating something out of love and passion for a media, is just idk an unmatched feeling

And the fact that ppl wanna sell this out to AI? It makes me rlly sad dude

Write late, write bad, it doesn't matter, as long as your writing is by your OWN hands

Just so we're clear, this isn't a call out post to ANYONE in particular, it's just something ive noticed in multiple different fandoms

when sora starts crushing on you, its obvious to everyone around him! you become a constant topic of conversation for him!!

However, when vanitas discovers he likes you, he doesn’t tell a soul. however, the unversed that cling onto you may give him away…

though vanitas knows how sora feels about you, it isn’t the other way around. If it was, the tension between them would only grow worse…

however, sora’s not stupid and takes the hint that the other feels the same way about you—which, to him, is crazy! it’s vanitas, he doesn’t like anyone…but he can’t blame the guy.

after this, there’s a mutual understanding that the both like you…but they’re torn on how you feel about them!! this leads them to do little things to try and get closer to you (i.e., sora will bring you souvenirs from different worlds, vanitas will train with you, etc.)

though the tension between them has certainly grown, you still care about them both equally! you just don’t quite understand why their relationship has worsened so suddenly…

Biggest thing for him is whe he’s not away, he’s constantly in your arms!!

Loves to cuddle and leave kisses all over you. Despite his somewhat cocky demeanor, he’s actually very affectionate!!

He takes a lot of pride in the fact you can handle yourself and loves you even more for it

Nonetheless, he is very reassuring—constantly calling you his lovely boyfriend and telling you how handsome you are!!

snake is happy as long as you are.

he’s relieved to hear that you’re capable of handling yourself—however, this won’t stop him from handling some transphobic snob when you aren’t looking…

moving on, snake is a lot like raiden when it comes to reassuring. Instead of boyfriend, though, he calls you his husband.

he loves to go on walks with you in different places, especially parks. he also gets weirdly philosophical (more so than usual) on said walks…maybe because it’s just you two.

Adding onto that, he feels very safe around you and hopes you feel the same with him.

otacon loves you no matter what.

he’s thrilled to hear about how you’ve handled yourself in the past. sure, he thinks it’s terrible what these people have said to you…but the way you carry yourself makes him love you so much more.

you’re the very light of his life. He loves getting to wake up each morning knowing that you’re next to him—his boyfriend. the love of his life…

he thinks you’re the most handsome person he’s laid eyes on. ask him what that suit looks like on you? he can barely form a sentence he’s so stunned.

cherishes your company greatly—wether that be a comfortable silence in the mornings when he works at his computer and you lounge on the couch, or the two of you lying together in bed…he loves being by your side and getting to call himself yours.

You first run into roxas in twilight town.

It’s the most casual thing ever. you’re hanging out with your friends, talking and laughing about…something, when you glance over to the side and see him with his friends.

It’s love at first sight—you’re nearly breathless when you lay eyes upon him. So much so one of your friends turns to you to ask if you’re okay…until she sees him too. Then the teasing begins.

“You think he’s cute, don’t you??”

“Someone’s got a crush….!!”

It only gets worse from there.

Anyhow, the next time you two run into each other is the time you both properly meet.

It’s late in the evening, the town’s quiet outside of the crunch from the leaves under your feet, and that means you’ve got the clock tower to yourself. At least, it should.

To your dismay(luck), roxas is already up there, leg propped up on the edge and an ice cream in hand.

In the golden rays of the sunset, he looks like an angel. He soon turns to you and his eyes immediately catch your attention.

A slice of the ocean they were, and pierced through your heart they did.

“Oh! I’m sorry…I can leave if you wanna sit up here-“

“No!! I mean, it’s fine.”

Gods, could you be any more obvious??

You sigh softly and sit down next to him, still keeping a good distance while you bring your knees to your chest.

“…sun’s pretty, isn’t it?”

And honestly, you have to agree with him. Though not as pretty as he, the sun was stunning before it went down.

You nod, taking in the small warmth it gave you amidst the cold breeze of autumn. taking a small notice to your slight shivering, he quickly takes off his jacket and hands it to you.

“you cold? you can borrow mine if you want.”

you nod, mumble your thanks, and put the jacket on. You thought you might die right there—the jacket even smelled like him.

glancing over the jacket, you come across a name written on the tag.

“roxas? ‘s that your name??”

“mhm….yours?”

You give him your name, blush a bit when he compliments it, and pay no mind to the shortened distance between you two.

You talk for a while about school and friends, fall and other trivial things.

Before the moon comes up, you two part ways, making a halfhearted promise to “do this again”—although you hope he means it.

By the time you unlock the front door to your home, you happen to notice the fabric on your sleeve, and quietly gasp at the fact you took his jacket.

After a while, you’ll stop cursing yourself. Sure, you’ll have to give it back…but you’ll get to see him again, no?

Dating Dark Pit…isn’t easy.

Well, it isn’t easy to even start dating him…!

He’s not used to having feelings for someone, let alone a human…so it’s going to take some time.

No matter how you two meet, be as nice as you can. Well, feel free to insult him when he does you—the look on his face is adorable!!

When you two finally start dating, he’s actually a lot sweeter! He’ll frequently come visit, walk around your hometown and listen to you talk about your day…he becomes a bit fascinated by humans after he’s been with you.

He’ll also manage to convince Viridi to let him fly long enough to carry you around in the air…it’s sweet, but terrifying. He tried.

Eventually, that becomes a regular thing for you both once you get used to it. He calls it your “flying dates”!!

…I hate to say it, but Dark Pit is going to be just a tad protective over you.

He’s not the biggest fan of the compliments Pit might give you, even if they’re harmless. He knows his other means well, and that he’d never make a move on you…but something about it just irks him. Per your request, he tries to keep this to himself.

However, Pit makes that hard for him whenever he teases you two about your relationship.

“Aww, did I make the lovebirds angry??”

Just something stupid and cheesy will set your boyfriend off, and before you know it—the two are having to be torn off each other. If only they could get along….

Moving on, you’re also the only one allowed to call him Pittoo, even if he still doesn’t like it.

On that note—it makes his heart melt if you correct someone(pit) on it. He thinks it’s super sweet that you think of him enough to do that.

I think his love language would be quality time. Dark Pit’s not very affectionate…openly, but he still wants to show you he cares. The only way he thinks he can manage to do so is to just spend time with you!!

Maybe it’s him sitting by a river, his head against your shoulder as you skip stones and listen to the waves crash against the rocks. Or it could be the two of you walking around at night, trying to find a good place to stargaze (except one of you forgot your lantern…)

He can’t spend a whole lot of time with you, so he wants to cherish every moment he can. Like I said, he’s not super affectionate, but there’ll be a rare time or two where he’ll give you the most heartfelt compliment you’ve ever heard. Or he’ll make some flirty remark. No in-between, I’m afraid.

Flirting aside, you mean the world to him. You’re the only person he feels…comfortable around. He doesn’t feel like he has to be all tough and defensive around you. It’s like you take this weigh off his shoulders…and for that, he really can’t thank you enough.

Dating Roxas is one of the best decisions you can make.

Adding onto the whole point of him spending time with you—you’ll constantly have someone to hang out with. He’s practically attached to you. Of course, it’s only because he loves you!! Like I’ve said before, he just wants to spend as much time as he can with you, and he’s so sweet about it that you really can’t blame him!!

He’s also a huge fan of gift-giving. Especially if he’s the one doing the giving. Be prepared to have many things pile up your room because of him.

Maybe a flower here, candy there, especially if you mention an interest of yours to him. There’ll be something of it in there, I promise.

“I was out with Hayner and I saw this. It made me think of you, so…”

And he’ll say it in that low, soft, dulcet voice of his that makes every word he says linger in the back of your mind.

Roxas is also a big hugger. Like, loves hugs. He‘ll do it normally, from behind, on top of you when you two cuddle, even on the side when cuddling as well!! There’s no hiding it—he’s a sucker for them.

It’s honestly adorable. The solid snake coming home from a mission and bear-hugging you, practically begging you to come cuddle with him. Which, who are you to say no?

Of course, you never would. Once you two are curled up together under a blanket, as cozy as you can be on the small couch, you can’t help but sigh softly. Your lover is generally hot-natured, so in times like these when the weather is cold, you try to stay as close as you can next to him.

He’ll always wrap his arm around you, keeping you plastered to his side as you two watch the movie you decided on for the night. He’s just happy to be next to you.

While his hold on you is firm, his touch is gentle. His hand rubs your side like it’s a precise stroke on the next Mona Lisa. He’ll lean his head against yours, smiling at the sweet scent of your shampoo.

Snake will be content to sit there for a while, just breathing in your scent and feeling your soft skin under your shirt. After a while, however, he’ll move to lay against the arm of the couch, pulling you between his legs to lay your head on his chest.

Not only does it give him a better view of his beloved, he gets to hold you even closer.

As he wraps his arms around you, he leans down and places a soft kiss to the top of your head, sighing contently. With most of his strength being put into keeping you as close against him as possible, you won’t be getting up for a while!!

One of his legs might tangle in with yours, or he might grab your hand and let his thumb run over your knuckles, he could even squeeze your waist—just something to keep himself occupied while spending time with you. He wants to feel you, to know the way your skin feels on his fingertips, every bump or dip in the skin is one he wants to know.

Just let him hold you close, and let him feel you—lay back and relax.

If you want cuddles, you’ll have to be the one to initiate them. You’re trying to get close and comfortable with a child soldier here—it’s not gonna be easy.

However, if you happen to catch him waking up from a nightmare the one, rare night you two sleep together…it’ll be less of a hassle.

Raiden would never admit it, but he adores physical intimacy. However, he’s too scared of possibly hurting you to really do anything of the sort. So the few moments you can get him to go past hand-holding are the ones he cherishes.

After a few minutes of trying to coax out the contents of his nightmare (with little success), he finally caves in to a small hug. You lean over, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him closer to you. He does the same—his arms around your waist, head buried in your shoulder.

You two sit there, basking in the silence brought on by the night. Your hands might make their way to his back, gently rubbing it as a means of comfort—he might leave a small peck to your neck as a quiet apology.

Eventually, you’ll get him to lay down again, taking deep breaths to get his mind to come down with him. When he answers “stay here, like this.” to “what can I do for you?”, you can’t help but smile softly, leaning your head down to rest against his.

He’ll pull you down on top of him, raking his fingers down your back, playing with your hair, letting himself find solace in your presence.

However, as his fingers move across your covered skin, you can’t help but notice a slight hesitancy in his touch. His fingers run down your back slowly, with a small pause before he moves again in the other direction.

As he plays with your hair, you catch him going back to each strand he runs through, trying to soothe a pain that isn’t there.

Whisper something sweet. Anything. It could be words of encouragement, a compliment, whatever. Just let him know you’re okay, that he’s not harming you.

Keep that up, and in a few minutes he’ll be fast asleep. If he gets comfortable enough, he might even snore a little…which, for you, is a heart-melting sound to hear.

despite his lack of relationship experience, he’s like…the perfect boyfriend. ever.

you wanna hang out? name a time and place, he’ll be there. you wanna stay inside and cuddle? fine by him, so scoot over!! feeling bad? he’s already brought you some ibuprofen and something to eat. this man is at your service, anything you need.

in terms of love languages, I feel like his would be quality time. most of his time is spent with his friends, the people he cares about. so of course this would be the thing he flocks to!!

he loves spending time with you—in his eyes, getting to be beside you, eating ice cream on the clock tower and watching the sunset is enough to make his newly grown heart melt already!!

he definitely writes about you in his diary. I mean, he’s supposed to write about his day in there…or at least the important things about his day. considering you’re his partner…he’d consider you pretty important.

the downside to writing down his feelings about you is that he has to be extra extra careful to hide his diary from everyone else. (axel and xion…)

if they ever happened to glance at a mistakenly opened page which might’ve mentioned you…a lot, they’d have to take matters into their own hands. or, in other words, tease him relentlessly about how much he loves you.

but, can you blame them? the poor kid is head over heels for you…it’s just too cute!!
