This was such a hard decision to make, but I believe it a necessary one. I put several months of work into OOTP and had so many ideas for it. To all of my members you are all beautiful, talented, and wonderful writers and such kind and welcoming people that having you in my roleplay has been such a complete treasure. So itâs incredibly difficult to decide to close the Order of the Phoenix roleplay. Timing I think is most to blame, this being an incredibly busy time of year for most. With some retooling I will most definitely be bringing this roleplay back later this year and hopefully all of you will return :) I love you all and am grateful to have met everyone of you <3
This RP seems so cool and fascinating, but the emphasis on high word counts and such really freaks me out b/c that's just too much pressure. I just wanted to compliment the group on working so beautifully together cause all the charas are wonderful. It's just not meant for me ssdly.
First off I just want to say thank you for your kind words! Iâve put a lot of work into this roleplay and itâs lovely to know itâs appreciated!But as far as your fears Iâd like to say that we arenât focused on high word count, per se, but more just writing in general! My amazing players have replies with lengths that vary from one paragraph to several but all are equal. Yes, we do have members who can write a lot and write beautifully that it makes me jealous and intimidated too but overall weâre more focused on writing in paras, and quality over quantity. Hopefully you reconsider :)
First things first, yesterday we hit our one month mark in this roleplay! Things have been exciting and lots of great writing and beautiful edits have been made along the way. As we get into May we are also getting into a busy time in everyoneâs lives and so because of that Iâll be slowing down the timeline of the main plot. Rather than having this month be equal to one month in roleplay time weâll stick to roleplaying events up until August 5th, giving everyone the chance to properly take in this first plot drop and get some scheming, Â investigating, and planning going before we move on to bringing Harry into things.Â
Iâll also be going on vacation from the 9th to the 19th this month but the lovely and talented Jess (vance-em) will be stepping in to assist me with admin duties so that everything can run smoothly. Before I go Iâll have have the next part of the current plot arc queued up and ready to be posted so that in game interactions can continue. So for now feel free to continue writing and plotting, having everything take place up to August 5th, and then weâll take it from there as to what the in game dates are currently. Being as writing focused as we are this slower pace will help us keep from getting so far ahead that paras become outdated and no longer relevant.Â

For future reference though please do not ask for or police my members for activity checks. And to answer your question about where Miriam grew up: I purposefully left it vague as I wanted to leave room for Miriam being a wide variety of ethnicities. So given that youâve kept Mindy Kaling as her fc, I think having her born in India makes perfect sense!

The hippo is a unique and versatile animal, and those with itâs patronus are the same. They have the ability to adapt to most situations and be comfortable, even though to otherâs they may seem somewhat out of place. They have a good way of blending into the scene until they want to be noticed, at which point they make their presence more than known, giving an impression that lasts. They are friendly to most, though if provoked their bad side is one of the nastiest there is.Â

She believes her cat is the reincarnated soul of an old gentleman. There is absolutely no reason behind this, just a shower thought that came to her in seventh year and one in which she believes to be true.
She had only ever been in love once. His name is Aidan Lynch, a famous quidditch player whom she did not know nor had she ever met. Because of  this she is starting to believe she is emotionally frigid, which scares the crap out of her. Perhaps going into healing and devoting so much time to it wasnât the best move she could have made. But in truth she loves her job and what she does and honestly wouldnât give it up for anything, even love.
Her mother tried to arrange a marriage for her when she graduated Hogwarts. Luckily for Miriam her father was on her side and was able to talk his wife out of it. It has now been fifteen years and her mother is growing more and more restless for grandchildren. This is the only driving force Miriam has to settle down, to get her mother off her back.
She loves her dealings with The Order. To her its like a super spy game, like in the movies. She always fancied herself an actress of sorts.

Miriam laid in her bed, eyes wide and at attention, as she watched the rhythmic dance of lights from the cars outside mingle with the green glow of the clock on her bedside table. The soft hues of white and green interweaved as they moved along the bare walls of her bedroom, reminding her of the killing curse, or better, what she imagined it to look like. She had never seen it for herself in person, but had heard many accounts from the number of patients and co-workers she knew that had. Funny, she thought as she laid there, how beautiful a thing could be even when it triggered the thoughts of such unpleasantness. Â
Her mind began to wander then, on thoughts of why and how that was. Perhaps it was the state of the world, or the fact she found herself surrounded by melancholy most of the day (due to her profession), or maybe she was just a bloody pessimist. She shook her head at the last thought and groaned, tossing herself on her belly before nestling her face straight into her pillow to block out the movements of the hypnotic light show. No, she wasnât a pessimist, that was for sure. She was just bloody well tired and whenever that was the case her mind had the tendency to whirl nonsensical thoughts that made no difference nor matter in any way, making sleep near impossible.
âShut up brain and go to sleep!â she commanded with a great huff that was muffled by her pillow, slamming her hand against the surface of her mattress, as though chastising her own brain would do her any good. But it didnât, nor did it ever.
What she needed was wine.
âYes, wine! What a bloody marvelous idea that is!â
Although she was a Healer and knew the dangers of the drink, Miriam was a firm believer that just about anything could be cured with a stiff drink and  a bit of dark chocolate. There wasnât a sleeping draught nor spell that could put her in the dead slumber she so wished for then then that of a bottle of very cheap chardonnay and perhaps the company of a handsome fella. But that latter was something that was a bit unattainable at that moment for she had no desire to get herself dressed.
Not that there was even a pub open at such an hour, and homeless men werenât really the sort she was interested in.
Rolling over, Miriam pushed herself up, grabbed her wand from her bedside table and removed herself from the tangled mess of blankets that had twisted around her legs and waist from her restless tossing. She slipped on her most comfortable fluffy white slippers and peered in the direction of her bedroom clock.

âGood thing I have tomorrow off.â she remarked to her cat, Mr. Tibs,  who was now perched at the foot of her bed, his own eyes wide and inquisitive as to  what she was doing up and about at such an hour.
âCome along you old sod, Mummy needs a bit of help sleeping, and if you play your cards right perhaps a little treat or two will come your way.â she said at the old black and grey tabby, giving him a soft scratch behind his ears before making her way  out of her bedroom and down the hall towards the kitchen, Mr. Tibs groggily following behind with a large yawn and swish of his tail.
Reports coming into the Department of Magical Law Enforcement late tonight tell that a Patronus Charm was performed in Little Whinging, Surray only one street over from Privet Drive. Details of the scene are still coming to light though more could have been known if the Order member in charge of watching over Harry Potter had been present at their station. Mundungus weâre talking to you!
Things are still very much up in the air but Dumbledore has now arrived at No. 4 Privet Drive to keep Harry from surrendering his wand, as was requesting by the Ministry. He tells us that Harry came upon two Dementors while out for a walk and was able to successfully cast a corporeal Patronus to ward them off both him and his cousin.
Many questions have arisen, such as: Why were Dementors lurking around a muggle suburb? Where was Dung when he was supposed to be on duty? Were they coming directly for Harry Potter? Who sent them? Why wasnât Mundungus where he ought to be? What will the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Amelia Bones, do to get to the bottom of this? Why is the Potter boy being punished when it was Mundungus who left his post? And finally, does this have anything to do with the recent gossip of a secret weapon hidden within the Ministry that will aid You-Know-Who in defeating Harry?

Hiatus Reminder
As we get into May we get into that time of year where school commitments with finals, graduation, end of term things, and all that fun stuff starts piling up. Please donât hesitate to request a hiatus here in order to alleviate some of the stress in you life. Then when the summer starts weâll all be able to rp together in the clear. Just remember to please send an ask to the main rather than posting it in the ooc where things get lost.
Can I ask what went into the thought process of using Avan for Krum? Just a curiosity, definitely not criticizing. I think it's an interesting (and really nice!) choice.
