BIOGRAPHY !
Oriana Perez was raised by a single father and her grandmother. She doesn't remember her motherāwho skipped out on the family when she was three. Although her father was angry, he never blamed his child for his wife's departure. From that moment on, he worked hard to keep his family afloat, sometimes working multiple jobs in order to spoil Oriana. Her family, despite small, were all very supportive of each other. They weren't wealthy at firstāand then her father finally got a job where he was actually making a decent salary. A few months later he met another woman and they got married.
Elisabetta already had another child from a previous marriage, so suddenly Oriana had to share everything with her new step-sibling and she wasn't exactly a fan. As much as she liked the idea of her expanded family and having more people around to care about her. But Oriana hated having to share her family with someone new. She had a competitive streak when it came to besting her new sibling. So when her sibling decided to start dancing, Oriana also joined. And she fell in love with it. Even when her sibling fell out of love with dance, Oriana kept at it. Dancing was where she realized that she was transāshe wanted to wear the dresses and heels and makeup that the other girls in her dance class were wearing. Although it wasn't until she was in middle school that she was confident enough to tell her family who were all supportive.
Although Oriana grew up in Aurora Bay, her dad had decided he wanted to send her to a private school. She was shipped off to a girl's boarding school in England and absolutely hated it. She had never been an academic oriented school, but being in Europe was good for the fashion loving side of her. Oriana ended up going to Paris fashion week several times and while she didn't graduate as one of the best students, she ended up doing alright in school. Although she ended up arguing with her dad about going off to university, eventually she caved and applied to a school in the states in California. Oriana wouldn't be in school for long though, as she quickly realized that was not going to work for her.
She stayed in school for two years, but it was in her junior year that things changed. In high school, she had started a fashion and style instagram. While it took some time to get off the ground, she started getting a really decent following and making money from her videos in her sophomore year of college. Although her father was angry, he couldn't exactly stop her from quitting school to follow her passions in the influencer space. Oriana eventually went to cosmetology school in Los Angeles and got a job at a decent enough salon. Her page turned more into showing her own work and got even more attentionāenough that she started to get invites to red carpet events and work as a stylist on some movies.
It was at a red carpet event for a movie she was hired to work on that she met someone. The two quickly realized how compatible they were and Oriana had never found herself falling in love so fast with someone. The next few years went by in such a blur that Oriana barely remembers them. She found herself happy and successfulāeverything she had always wanted in life. When he asked her to marry, Oriana said yes without thinking about it. And then two days later she packed her bags and left a note saying she couldn't marry him. She left Los Angeles and went back to Aurora Bay.
Her father was confused when she showed up at his door, but he let her stay for a bit, until she got her own apartment. Oriana got a new job at Stunning Styles and posts online less often than she did beforeābut still has quite a following online. She has only been back a few months at this point, but she refuses to talk about why she just left Los Angeles and all of her friends are confused about where she went.
HEADCANONS !
Oriana was twelve when she managed to finally learn her mother's name. She was talking to her grandmother and the woman let it slip. Although Oriana has never looked her up, she is curious.
Sola chuckled, a little rueful. It felt wrong to think of Ravi as an ex, but it was also the closest word she had.
"What happened with yours?" she asked, unable to avoid being a little nosy (though she hoped that the other woman wouldn't ask her to reciprocate in the storytelling).
"Oh, trust me. He would take zero offense. Like, he's definitely not the kinda guy who doesn't think that guys should be anywhere near makeup, he's just kinda clueless. In, like, a cute way."
It was difficult to say what happened with her and Raf. A part of her was confused as to what exactly went sour, but then they'd interact and she'd think that's why.
"I don't know. I guess I just didn't want what he wanted." But what exactly did she want? Was she doomed to run from perfectly good relationships because her mother had done the same?
"Well good. That he wouldn't take offense to it. I know plenty of people like that. They're just not interested in learning about makeup. I think that was one of the biggest clues for me figuring out who I was. I liked makeup and dresses and dance. And not in an appreciation way, in a that's how I want to look way."
š„¦ Broccoli - Are they a picky eater? To what extent? And are they aware that they are one?
"I try to at least try something before I make a decision on if I like it or not. That said, I still have my favorite dishes that I'll eat above trying something new if given the chance."
"Everything about me pisses you off," he remarks, an over exaggeration if there ever was one, "sorry, yeah, fuck me I guess... I'm always the asshole." Actually, yeah, he usually was. "Mine doesn't have signal, but maybe yours would. I don't fucking know, Or."
Raf can't help but laugh at the suggestion, "I can't fit through there." Maybe he could, but he thinks she'd fit better. "You'd probably kick the table out from underneath me." Something irks him, though, and he can't leave it alone, "and for the record, even if I did get out, it doesn't mean I'd actually leave you behind. I'd send someone to get you."
She closed her eyes so she didn't roll them. "No, it doesn't." How many times could she say that before it got through to him? He never pissed her off unless he was being an asshole, which was often, but it was more and more every time she saw him these days. It was like he wanted to piss her off. "I have never once said that. Why are you putting words in my mouth?" She was trying. She really was. Oriana got off the table she was sitting on and walked towards him.
"Well, at least I'm offering suggestions." Her voice wasn't judgemental. "Why would I do that?" Oriana asks. She's never once threatened to hurt anyone, even people that did deserve it. "Besides, that might break a nail anyways." She hoped the joke would at least diffuse some of the tension. "Your hair is... let me fix it." Oriana reached up to fix it. For a second it felt like before, when they were getting ready to go out to do some sort of event. "Raf...I..." she started and then shook her head before pressing a kiss to his lips, short, soft.
Rhia knew that it was a bit of a sore subject all around. But couldn't help but smile wide at the two of them offering to help one another. A sense of pride and community in that. "Me? Oh, y-you know me. Never anything exciting in my life. I try-try and talk to women and fail pretty much everytime in that regard."
Oriana knew that she had forged a path that wasn't easy for herself. She'd loved being creative when she was younger and her social media was an entry point for what she wanted to do. Now it was her everything. "I highly doubt that's true. Your job is super demanding and I know you've got something going on." She was fishing for details. "Really? In a town like this, you've not got a single bite?"
"Of course." Syrena said with a small smile. It really would be no issue at all, especially since she needed to check her own mailbox. "Do you mind giving some details of how exactly you got locked in there with your ex?" She was definitely a little too curious.
"Well, I wouldn't say locked. I think the door somehow jammed when it closed and we couldn't get it open. And then no one was around to hear us when we knocked to be let out. There's not much service down there apparently. I wouldn't really know since I didn't have my phone down there. He wasn't amused. Which like rude. I'm great."
šµ MUSIC NOTE - what is their playlist like? their favourite artists? do you associate a particular song with them?
"I think I'm more of a pick a vibe and go off a Spotify made playlist kinda girl. I mostly listen to pop music though, so I don't think I have a very diverse playlist and I don't have a favorite artist."

"Uh, I think I was looking up makeup palettes the other day. I know I googled the next book in the series I was reading. And then I ordered some new earrings the other day. Kinda boring. I never look up anything interesting."
"Do you mind doing me a favor?" Oriana asked, turning her attention to Syrena. "If I give you my mail key will you go and check to see if I have mail? I have trauma from when I got locked in there with my ex a couple of weeks ago."
"Every day I come closer and closer to giving myself bangs." Oriana looked at her reflection in the mirror. "Or you know burning my ex's apartment." Which also happened to be where she lived.
"Stupid, lame. I-I-I am not fond of any of those people." Hate was a strong word. Especially when she didn't know exactly who they were talking about. "I'm always here to-to support you though. Whenever. In the face of-of adversity from the-the haters," Rhia replied and then laughed. Laughed at the follow up, "Be weird if y-you didn't. Are...Are you sure y-you're good? I want to help."
"They were stupid people," she nodded. Oriana didn't love being disliked by people, even Raf she wanted to be friendly with. That ship probably sailed though. "Thanks. And same for me. If anyone gives you problems, they'll have to deal with me." Oriana nodded. "Yeah, I'm sure I'm good. There's nothing that we can do." She looked at her friend. "Now, tell me what's been going on with you. Any fun jobs? Anyone you're talking to?"
"I don't fucking know, Oriana. It was just a suggestion." Grumbling, he waves his phone around, "yeah, well, it doesn't matter anyway because there's no signal in here."
He laughs at her joke, sarcastically, "yeah, sure, and maybe we'll get to third base too." This felt like the exact opposite of a meet cute and he wanted to get the hell out of there. "Somebody better come soon. I have a date." He does not, in fact, have a date.
She shot a glare his direction. Oriana didn't get why he was being huffy with her when his phone wasn't even getting any signal. "See that. That right there is why you piss me off. You have the phone, you see it isn't working, and then you get annoyed at me for not knowing a phone number that you could very well have yourself if your phone worked but it doesn't because you know very well that it doesn't have any signal." She was talking in circles, but she didn't care. He shouldn't get mad at her for something that isn't going to work in the first place.
"Whatever." Oriana hadn't been serious about that suggestion. She looked around the room. "Well if you're so concerned about getting to your date you could crawl out that window." It was one of those tiny half windows. He'd have to stand on a table to get to it. "You can make your date and bonus I'd still be locked in here." Because she wasn't going to climb out any window in the skirt she was wearing. If Raf was looking for a reaction to him going on a date, he was not going to get one from her. She didn't care.
"I know what you need." Nikki chuckled, victorious. "Bars always sound like a good place to start..problematic as it sounds." she admitted. She paused to listen. And then laughed. "Oh wow..I'm sorry, it's not funny. Bet it was awkward as hell." Nikki shook her head. "Oh it was a romcom..just..I'm not sure if it'd be a scene at the beginning or towards the end of one." Like..Princess Diaries 2, they get in the closet while kind-of-hating each other. Or any other romcom where closed spaces are a plot device for a kiss.
God, she should really stop plotting movies with Ark..she saw one everywhere now. || @orianacperez
"Bars are always a good idea." She was never going to turn someone down who wanted a drink. "No, it's the best place to go to chat with someone, I think. I mean where else are we supposed to go? The library?" She did go to the library at least every other week. "It was. There's like... no service down there, not that I had my phone. It wasn't anything out of a romcom though." Oriana was never going to get back together with someone like Raf at this rate. "That movie was so much more romantic than my life." Oriana shook her head. "I hate living so close to him."
Nelson would take the answer of not really as a succinct sort of answer and didnāt have the urge to press her further on it. ā I actually have this feeling there is no love of my life cause am very bad to settle down with ā not that he was some horrible partner or anything of the sort. But more that he was just not great with commitment. He was too restless and he never wanted to subject anyone to that. ā nit here. Not with me getting asked ā where do you see yourself in five years? Do you want kids?ā Itās a lot ā
ā who knows why Iām saying it but of course Iām going to let you win Oriana. ā cause Nelson would always drop something when it was between him and a friend. ā ooh did he deserve it?ā Nelson asked with small teasing smile before nodding his head at her request. ā we can do that. Donāt wanna walk, drive separately or do you mind sharing a car with me? ā
ā of course theyāve been waiting . As your friend I think you're that kind of person that is very easy to miss you when you arenāt around. Like I said youāre too cool ā he added bringing the conversation back around to before @orianacperez
Oriana snorted at that. She didn't believe that anyone was without someone. Call her romantic, even if she wasn't in a great situation herself, but she did believe that there was someone out there for everyone. "I doubt that's true." She really tried not to be overly positive about anyone's love life. "Well, I'm never answer any of those things people ask." Although maybe her last relationship would have been spared if they'd actually asked those sorts of questions. Oriana was not to blame. "It's irritating. Maybe you should make a card with the basic answers on them."
She shrugged. "As you should. I'm always right." Even when she was wrong. "Yes, he did." She followed along. "I said something about visiting my grandmother and he told me that all old people sucked. My grandmother was my number one supporter growing up. So obviously I told him that his phobia of old people was showing." It was such a silly thing to get annoyed at and yet she only ever got annoyed at the small stuff. "Whatever is easiest. I don't mind sharing a car. I hate driving." She scrunched her nose.
"It feels weird because there's this post-breakup me that's different than I used to be and I didn't know how they'd take it. I mean people were rooting for us to get married and well... it's all over."
