Why does Laios' hair get a black underside after a while? is that just a stylistic choice?

(I'm autistic so it might just be a stylistic choice that flew over my head)

Stylistic choice, these are all from the same chapter, it's just a shadow/how she draws his hair, there's no section that's actually black

Holm is so pretty and handsome and I bet Kabru would draw little sketches of him without knowing it, daydreaming about kissing him... Sometimes when he gets to his eyes, he starts back at them.

When he finally realizes what he was doing though, he pushes that book aside and hopes that no one, including his team, sees what he wrote and drew
