Ok, so I know that ive said āread this bookā several times already. But in all seriousness, if you read ANY of the books I have mentioned on this site, it should be this one. It is the most important out of all the books I have read. Thinking about it, I donāt know why I havenāt read it again! I will soon. The book was written by Drunvalo Melchizedek, who has degrees in both arts and physics. After college, for 25 years he studied with over 70 teachers from all belief systems and religious understandings In this book, Drunvalo again tells his fascinating stories of living with several various indigenous tribes from around the world. What a life! From the Aborigonies to the Maori, the indigenous people of New Zeland. Also the Kogi tribe from Colombia. Not only that, but a blind woman that can see! With her hands and feet! Also a story of somebody who took a random book off of a library shelf, opened it and randomly tore out a page. This person crumpled it up and put it under their armpit- AND COULD READ IT WORD FOR WORD! I know, its hard to believe for me too, but theres a part of me that does believe it. All of these people tell of the importance of ābeing centered in our heartsā, and āfinding the sacred space within the heartā. Lets talk about the heart for a minute. (I can hear my brother- the cardiologist- laughing at me now. Im kinda the weird one of the family) Human creation, the ovum, starts as a sphere. Then it divides itself internally until it becomes 2 cells. Then to 4, 8 and so on. Eventually, the first organ that is formed is the heart. So at one point in your life, you were nothing but a human heart! And guess what? You suddenly start beating- without a brain! Who told you to do that!? Well, you DID have a brain. There are actually about 40,000 cells in the heart that arenāt heart cells at all! Theyre brain cells! ( I even ran this by my cardiologist brother. He says that they arenāt exactly brain cells, but similar. The long and short of what I have read, is that if someone asked you to answer yes or no to the question ādoes your heart have a brain?ā, the answer should be yes.) Have you ever heard of the research group called HeartMath? They are connected with Stanford University, and they have found some pretty interesting data. They have proven that the human heart generates the largest and most powerful energy field of any organ in the body. Including the brain. This electromagnetic field is about 8-10 feet in diameter, with the axis centered in our heart. (they can actually see this with their machines!) This field is known as a toroidial field because of its shape, the torus (a torus is kinda like a doughnut or fatter like an apple. Hard to explain-google it). Here, emerging from the sacred space of the heart, is an electromagnetic toroidaial field with a smaller toroidial field inside, and both are centered on the same axis. I hope im not the only person that had no idea that organs had energy fields! A long time ago, we all used to be centered in our hearts. But somewhere along the line, we shifted (most of us- indigenous peoples excluded) from being centered in our hearts to being centered in our brains. This creates a problem. Have you ever heard of the book (DVD ) āThe Secretā? (2006) Itās a bunch of interviews of people with degrees in various topics such as quantum physics, psychology, metaphysics, and medicine, basically verifying the ālaw of attractionā. Everything one wants or needs can be satisfied by believing in an outcome, repeatedly thinking about the outcome, and maintaining positive states to āattractā that outcome. It really works! But herein lies the problem: The brain is polarized. It has two hemispheres. Left brain, right brain. How is that a problem? Well with all of this positive thought and intention you are creating, you are also creating the exact opposite! Every action has an equal and opposite reaction! Thatās why no matter how much we want peace as human beings, we will never have it. No matter how much we pray (unless coming from the heart), our prayers are never answered. The heart however, is not polarized. In our mind, we have male, female and child. Black, white and gray. Good, bad and neutral. In our hearts, everything is one. We are all one. Everything is one. If we can learn to create from our hearts, maybe this dvd would have really worked! We as a race need to become centered in our hearts once again. Every ancient culture knows this is true! Its in mayan prophecies, Buddhist mantras, and many others. Inside of our hearts, there is a space known in ancient times as āthe sacred space of the heartā This space, they all say, is the center of ALL creation- āIn the fortified city of the imperishable, our body, there is a lotus. And in this lotus a tiny space. What does it contain that one should desire to know it? As vast as this space without is the tiny space within your heart. Heaven and earth are found in it, fire and air, sun and moon, lightning and the constellations. Whatever belongs to you here below and all that doesnāt, all this is gathered in that tiny space within your heart.ā This is a quote from the Upanishads- a collection of texts that are the theoretical basis for the Hindu religion. Some of these texts are over 2000 years old. (Iāll tell you what the Maya and Buddhists say in sections to follow that is almost a word for word match to this) Drunvalo once again provides a guided meditation in this book that will help you learn to find your way into your heart. Then into the sacred space of the heart (and another tiny space within that!) What a ride!
