“What are the rules on adoption?”
“My only rule is that you’re a good owner but there is a little bit of paperwork depending on the breed, gender and age of the dog. But it’s all general stuff. Documentation for the dog, injections, stuff like that.”

“I guess, I could have asked in a more polite way. I wanted a cat that gets overlooked. Maybe its been here for awhile or been returned a few times, that’s the cat I want.” he explained. “I’d like to give an unloved cat a home. That’s all.”
“See now I’m not sure if I believe that,” Orlaith replied, crossing her arms, “Is that the only reason you want a cat?”

“I’ll meet you by their kennels,” she said over her shoulder, going to the side-room where they kept things like dog toys and leashes. She grabbed enough leashes for every dog they had currently in the kennels to walk. After doing so, Maggie returned promptly to her cousin. “Here you go attach these guys and I’ll take those,” she said, handing Orlaith some of the leashes before walking over to the other kennel gate.
Orlaith walked to the kennels and the dogs jumped up at the sight of her. She walked up to a young border collie, secretly her favourite and reached into the cage to pet him through the bars, “Hey buddy, what’s up?” She asked soothingly. With her werewolf genes, dogs were at ease around her and her cousin. That’s why they worked there. She took the leashes off of Maggie and started to open the kennels and attach the leashes.

“I know that very well actually. I’m an empathetic person and I grew up with dogs. I don’t see how anybody couldn’t love them,” he rambled with a smile. “Of course,” Oliver nodded, following the woman.
“Well at least I know now that one of them will get to go to a good home,” Orlaith replied. She loved hearing about people’s experiences with animals, especially if they were coming to adopt. She could tell a lot about someone not just by what they said about animals but how they said it. They reached one of the dog rooms, “This is only some of them but take a look around to see if there’s any here you like.”

Without a well-paying job, and all the money he carried around in his pockets going towards school for Alice and making sure he fed those that couldn’t fend for themselves, Teddy found living on the edge of the forest in a tent to be comforting and practical, not only did it keep him in close proximity of his companions but also assured he wouldn’t waste endless amounts of money on a place. So, after purchasing a few things in town, he made himself at home just against the log near his fire pit, using a protective charm to assure the flames wouldn’t spread and scare the animals. In wait for his dinner to be ready, he started preparing a small meal for Rover as he hummed Blackbird to himself.
Orlaith was taking some of the dogs for a walk. Mostly out of boredom but also because she knew they all needed a stretch, herself included. She wasn’t surprised to see Teddy in the forest. She often saw him there. So when she did this time, she smiled, “Hey Teddy, what’s up?”

“I don’t know why I keep scaring all my work out partners off. – Its not like I yell that loud. I’m just trying to encourage them that’s all.”
“If you wanna keep a workout partner, perhaps you should tone down on the yelling?”

“Oh, hello dear. I was actually looking for the ugliest cat you have.”
“Um... I don’t really consider any of our cats ugly. May I ask why you want one?”

“Uh, yeah, do you have dogs?” Clary asked hopeful.
“Can you not hear the barking?” Orlaith joked as she pointed behind her, “We have tons of them and they’re all lovely.”
magscallaghan:
“That’s normal – animals react that way during a storm. But I see what you mean. I’ll go gab the leashes,” Maggie said with a smile.
“Great, I’ll get the dogs,” Orlaith replied with a grin.

“I feel like I’ve always been more of a dog person. But they do say the animal picks their owner.”
“Well you’re in luck because we have plenty of dogs,” Orlaith replied with a smile, “You are right about that. Animals can sense emotion. If you’re afraid or sad or angry or happy, they know. They’re this way. Follow me.”

“Looking to adopt,” he responded with a smile.
“Oh good, it was getting a little boring around here. Any animal in particular?”
magscallaghan:
“They’re going to absolutely love that!” she beamed at the thought.
“I’m sure. It’s been a few days. Some of them are definitely getting anxious and fidgety.”
“Hey there, are you interested in adopting or just looking?”
magscallaghan:
“The weather looks like it’s clearing up.”
“Yes. Perhaps we can take the dogs for a proper walk in the woods today.”

“I know, I know,” she chuckled, “You’re dreadful,” Mags said, poking her back.
“Please, you love me,” Orlaith laughed with a dismissive, and rather dramatic, wave.
‘’this conversation was never gon’ be short.’’ he murmured, moving to stand up slowly– using the bar for support. ‘’i’m BACK from the dead, lemme live it up a little bit.’’ josh said, his lips curving up slightly.
She shrugged, “Fair enough,” Orlaith looked him up and down, “This looks like living it down, Josh.”
